Two-hand Warrior class build guide. Tons of guard, control, and damage dealing by the truck load!
This is the first of many class build videos on the way. Coming soon builds for Mage, Rogue Archer, Sword and Shield Tank, and more!
This guide focuses on how to build your class using the first 10 points. These builds can be used of course for your main character, but have also been designed to be just as viable for use with your AI teammates.
Your Two-hand Warrior starts with Warcry and Mighty Blow. These are the skills in the order to unlock after that.

I highly recommend upgrading Earthshaking Ground with the next point you get after you unlock it. It's greatly improved by it's upgrade!
In short, this build allows you to build up a lot of guard to protect your warrior, control enemies with knockdowns, grabs and counters. And when the time is right, unleash hell with Whirlwind and Earthshaking Ground!

This is my 6th or so video of yours as I'm trying to decide on a class for my newest inquisitor and I have to say, your videos are so informative and display and explain everything really well! Its definitely showed me what different ways of playing a mage is like (I've always rolled as a mage and I end up with the same build each time but I've now got several ideas on builds!) as well as showed me different ideas for my main character's build in different classes that I've never tried! thank you and I subscribed! :)

The 2h warrior is a combination dps and off tank. Especially needs to keep an eye on squishy people and pull mobs off them as necessary. Of course, if solas is going to stand in the middle of the battle, maybe he should get a few bruises as a message :)

You got a really solid 2hand build. I started out 2hand and around lvl 10 I realized damage was too slow can the blows needed to be calculated. Missing any ability hurts your sustain "a lot". So I I started a rogue! O ya huge risk and reward but the all around game play is so much funner and a lot faster. I highly recommend creating a rogue class I'm sure you'll love it.

My first character was a rogue dual wielding guy but I found myself not really using my stealth abilities and just being more like a warrior later in game I would get my ass kicked so I made a 2 handed warrior and Im starting to think it will be my main character thanks for the build!

Thanks, very helpful. This is my first DA game and I am playing as a warrior. I was confused because I thought each skill tree was mutually exclusive so I was unclear how to spend my points. Now I understand that I simply mix and match among the different trees. I don't know why there are multiple skill trees if all are available and non-exclusive.

I really like the tank build for 2-h warrior. It works about the same and I do medium damage while being almost impossible to damage. I really like bull rush followed by mighty blow critting for 1500 sometimes. Crunchtastic!

I'm surprised you didn't choose pommel strike. In my experience playing, it was very effective. The short charge and CC, as well as the high damage made it work well. I also dumped whirlwind and earthshaker because they had no CC, and I found very few times where more than two enemies would sit still and get hit by them. Generally, I would taunt, charge, then keep everything CC'd. I found I took almost no damage from physical attackers with tier 3 armor. After I charged, I would focus on any magic users. I also took templar, which had even more AoE CC. Most non boss fights my entire party took no damage at all, and guard absorbed it all, even on nightmare.

Thanks for something like this that i might be looking forward for this game to have. I'm looking more of a berserker type of two-handed warrior, but there is only a kind of warrior you might need. But this one will do, as it can be of good help to keep a consistent amount of stamina, as it does seem like he doesn't take up too much. Also, I haven't bought this game yet. Radiant Depends, do you want to tank or dps? I'm not saying you can't tank with a two hand weapon, but all the best defensive skills are for sword and shield users. Same for dps. All the best dps warrior abilities come from two hand weapon tree.

Then you just upgrade to the better version? I see Block & Slash is in the right position on the alternative attacks too - because you need no more and it's the best? If they are AI warriors you don't make them prefer B&S attacks though? And what about Mana/Stamina Reserve and Healing percentages - I put them to the minimum 20%.

Cool Video man! personally I've been trying for an all out DPS two hander (which will specialize reaver). I automatically upgraded to the second version of mighty blow, and then focused on any abilities to knock people down. Naturally that reserves at least 1 point with Block and Slash, and I get the second upgrade for the chain pull. After that I worked towards getting Coup De grace which adds 30% damage to stunned or knocked down enemies. with this combo, Mighty blow can hit it over 1600 damage even at low levels. I was fortunate enough to be graced with a mighty blow enhanced ring which adds even more damage, and now I'm critting 1800 damage pretty often. The build im running isn't nearly as resilient as this one, but damn does it feel good playing executioner with that damage.

Kinetic, Thanks for responding my brother. On the Warrior/Rogue classes, I wouldn't know. Still learning them. Actually, I've been learning from you - you have deep understanding with actives & passives synergies. Please, start with whichever you class you'd like. Personally, I run a Rift Mage hybrid with Winter, Storm, Fire, Spirit. My least favorite is Knight Enchanter. He's just too OP. I like strong builds, but not too OP, at the very least, let me earn mine with strategy and tactics. So please start with whatever build you'd like, your videos are entertaining and educative. The only problem I have with the build is the Charging Bull ability with an AI. In my first play through I cant tell you how many times Cassandra Charged right off the edge of a cliff and died leaving my squishy little mage to deal with the mob that decided I was now the biggest threat. If it is your main and you know when to cancel the ability though, its a solid ability.

I had the opposite issue lol. I have Blackwall the skill because it's one of my favourite Guard Generation moves, and he just uses it to close the gap while knocking nothing over.. Stupid man

My first ability I'd take Bull Charge. It's useful fighting the first boss. And lets you break out of mobs when you get swarmed. 2nd was Entangling Chain.

I would recommend taking Give Them The Boot. Use that and then use Mighty Blow on them after they are knocked down.

I just wanna say, if you use Grappling Chain and do a Pommel Strike next, it stuns the enemy for like 3 seconds, enough time to hit it, or do a Mighty Blow combo.

I have 1 suggestion. If u get the ability taunt but don't use it u can get the far right ability after it which is a passive ability that says u know how to use the most of ur armor.

just got the game and been playin all week i made a 2hd war, this was helpful, i respec'd and got rid of warcry, didn't notice it gave an armor buff. gonna respec again today and regain it lol. I tended not to like Earthshaking Ground thou I hadn't tried the upgraded version. are you gonna do a video on 2hd warrior specialization skills? I'm not sure to go champion reaver or templar. I'm guessing reaver thou is for 2hd. thx EDIT: NVM went to the video lists and saw all the guides, gonna be viewing some of them today. subbed too

You should 100% be using varric. 20% crit chance increase across the entire party Other than that I love how you went as an actual leveling guide instead of just showing a high lvl skill tree.

Hmmm. Not sure I would take Chain and Charging Bull. Just take Charging Bull and run to enemies; cool down is 5 seconds and is cheap. Also I get rid of that primary 'block' skill and pick up Pommel below it; it does tons more damage and stuns too boot. I don't ever have stamina issues with two-handed, so deep reserves is more of a nice to have. Instead I pick up Horn of Valor (replacing taunt) with the upgrade to add to Guard - helps the groups attack, defense and guard. I like Livid as well for solid crowd control; works well with the cyclone ability.

Really enjoying you DA:I videos. I am thinking about starting a fresh game with a 2H warrior and this is very helpful. Warriors have never been my main choice out of the classic three, so I need as much advise as I can get and this is great. I am hoping to not bring Blackwall with me everywhere, like I have in previous DA:I runs....so do you have any tips on making Cassandra a tank with almost as much surviveability as Blackwall? I know she can never reach his level, but I would love be able to free myself of Blackwall (love the character, just want something different for my different runs). I feel like I need him to survive and I can't get over that. Tanking is a concept that is foreign to me. Only time I have ever tanked was in FF XI and there is was basically "hit provoke every 30 seconds".

decent build but to behonest once you hit level 7 respec and go through the two handed tree and get earthshattering strike and the upgrade for it then get war cry thats all you really need to get through most of the game before getting a specialization on hard

Idk if this happens to alot of you but does everyones guard deplete super fast or is it just me? I dont have any armor or weapon with berserker at fist it was that but once i fixed it my guard still went away superfast

I actually Found out that Pummel Strike is Extremely powerful esspecally when compaired to Heavy slam, Esspecally agenst Single Bosses/Dragon Enemies, It may not stun them but you can take a very quick chunk of health off in no time and with the upgrade it costs less stam and less cooldown, not to mention the passive afterwards is VERY useful agenst those annoying bosses and dragons that love to spam gaurd

I’m on dragon age 2 right now for the first time. I beat Inquisition a few years ago, but with the added context and the difference in the world based on when if finish 2 is something i’m exited for when i jump into this game again. I’m playing as a rogue on 2 and i’m wondering what’s the most fun and flashy combat for inquisition. I played with a sword and shield the first time around but i’m wondering if I should so archery, two handed or mage this time. Does two handed play much differently from sword and shield?

I find that removing the guard skills works pretty well. My mage does an excellent job of putting up barriers and my tank is pretty good at keeping the agro. Just my opinion though.

I played on normal and just made myself a reaver. On low enough health the last strike of my reaver claw move would often hit for 6k, steam rolled the game from lvl 15 onwards.
