If you ever read Dragon Age ASunder you would know theres a reason Cole is the way he is. Hes a spirit who took the body of a young boy the templars brought to the circle and then forgot about, leaving him to die. The spirit felt his pain and went to him. I love Cole, I just want to wrap him in big hugs.

My favorite thing about choosing the Templars is the storyline with Cole. When he joins in the other storyline he seemed to be some weird creature you have to poke and prod to figure out what Cole is. With the Templars he literally helped save your soul, and I always felt more protective of him for that, like a little brother. That's how it was for me anyways.

David Mobeck There are quite a few Dragon Age books. The one they're referring to is called Asunder and it explains what Cole is in a bit more detail and also features Wynne's son Rhys as a major character.

That is kinda fucked up. Since Asunder happens between DA2 and DAI, but you have the option to actually kill Whyne by yourself in DAO, which renders all of the book weird if that happened on your play-through.

kankerkaas He's not really a child mentally, though. He doesn't understand ALL the complexities of humans (jokes or reading, for example), but that doesn't mean he doesn't understand mature concepts. There's explicit evidence that he understands sex and romance when he helps people. Also you could have a romantic relationship with him without sex (you have that with Sebastian in DA2). Tbh seeing Cole as a child is an insult to all the character development he goes through as a person/spirit, and also implies that people with mental disabilities or illnesses aren't capable of having romantic relationships, which yeah it might be harder to form but it doesn't mean it's impossible or automatically unhealthy (coming from someone who is autistic and has lots of autistic friends who want to romance Cole, b/c they relate to his autistic characteristics.) I mean, I definitely want to protect Cole too! But I don't think he needs to be protected as much as we think, just helped in places he needs it, especially by the time Inquisition happens. He's confused, yes, but he's nowhere NEAR where he starts out in Asunder.

Prince Fado Though David Gaider himself said that Cole had the mentality of a child, he took the form of a boy who was very young at mind(from what I remember in the book). Also knowing mature things does not make a person any less innocent or a child, I knew about sex at the age of 6 and I understood the "adult" jokes, i was still a child though and very naive.

DivaQuinzel Well yes but having the "mind of a child" is a common tactic people use to take agency away from disabled people. Just because he is naïve doesn't mean he isn't capable of making informed decisions for himself. I mean yeah a romance with him would have to be careful because it is a sensitive thing and he would need to be handled well, but it's not as if it would be inappropriate for him to have one, especially if it were with an Inquisitor who had conditions similar to him.

It's the same game. In the video the player allied to the templars, while you allied to the mages. In this case, who appeared at the gate was Dorian, not Cole.

I sided with the Templars, because i heard you can force them to be disband and join the Inquisition, so I thought that would be fun. But the small guide/hints I found online said that if you side with the Mages you'll find him later in the story at Skyhold anyways. You should be fine.

In the options, you can choose to have headwear not show up in cutscenes and gameplay. And even if you don't do that, you can change his headwear to something else.

Everybody has an accent but not this strong. It's like the only one who actually has english as their main language is the main character. Not really that i'm against it, just felt weird at the beggining and after some time it started to get annoying. It's like the voice actors are trying too hard to make them accent stronger. Just felt Unnatural to me. Well, that's just my opinion anyway.
