You have an entirely different race which could have its own customs, religion, family structure, codes, laws, language, etc. and the best thing you can think of is to make them some non-binary thing? I'm trying to imagine someone in the 14th-century Europe having a non-binary conversation with their parents and how well that will go? This is exactly it. Your main character has major feminine energy in all the dialogue options even the "stern" options. Its by design

bg3 reminds me of old movies like The Three Musketeers, Monty Python while Dragon Age reminds of those Disney teen shows that is filled with supposedly edgy humors and awkwardly forced wholesome moments.

The bird in BG3 that tells you some eagles stole his nest, so he asks you to take it back for him? That lying bird convinced me at first, but then he pissed me off. Turned out the bird never had a nest, and he only wanted us to kill the huge eagles so he can steal one of their huge nests. Shouldve thrown a fireball at that bird, but those eagles attacked me after telling them I came in peace, so I suppose they had to die anyways.

A pun loving rat has more personality than all the characters of a BioWare game. This is the world I live in, but I am from a timeline when BioWare wrote way better than they do now. Yikes.

it's not just the bad writing but the actors and actresses sound so sterile. like THEY had to deal with HR being in the same room as them...

What's crazy to me is that the vilguard dialogue while it sounds bad wouldn't be as bad if it didn't feel like it just abruptly stopped for somebody to talk about their trauma. Don't get me wrong, it's terrible, but for some reason whenever a character seems to start giving a talk or a speech that the other characters just start trauma dumping or they'll give some stupid piece of exposition about coffee or feeling small. Like what the hell?

The coffee conversation would be fine if they didn’t have to sound so artificially happy. It feels almost dystopian, everyone acting like one of the care bears. “Maybe coffee just isn’t my thiiiiinnngg”. 😐

The voice acting in DA:V is also pretty bad. Which stinks cause you have a really good voice actor for Harding, but her talent was wasted due to bad writing, directing, and scripting.

Still can't believe that Failguard has a fire breathing Qunari yet all she does all game is bitching about not being able to "fit" as a woman. Wtf does that even mean? Does being cringe suddenly make you not a woman? Did these clowns forget that such thing as "tomboy" exist which is literally just a woman who acts/looks a little masculine and it doesn't require you to make up some dumb pronouns that don't change anything anyway? Yeah, I pick a random cat from BG3 over a whole plot of Veinguard any day.

Veilguard's writing base on what I've seen is almost focus on character's ego too much which make me feel they're trying to get player's sympathy than focus on the game's story, that's why I'm not feel good whenever a character start to say something, it's not fun, it's more stressful than usual
@evakhaan7 күн бұрын
talking to characters in this game is like walking past a homeless disabled person who begs for money. you always give him money, but after a million times this situation starts to stress you out, and the money runs out. but if you refuse, you will feel like a bad person. and this feeling is exploited by the game. so the atmosphere in the team feels very toxic.
