You get to see where and how they've improved from a technical standpoint, but also areas where they may have regressed in stylistic expression.

Love Love LOVE sparking zero's artstyle but i think some of the beam effects or special attacks are a bit better in RB2 when an ultimate hits you watch the victim get completely OBLITERATED by the blasts, final flash takes up the entire screen and you watch the target get completely swallowed by the beam. meanwhile its just a beam with a big explosion and smoke clouds in DBSZ. pretty nitpicky but idk

*THIS* SZ looks insanely good, but omg... they should've added more beam obliteration cinematics; Vegeta's Final Flash feels so lackluster because of it. Ironically, Baby's Final Flash kept that very same cinematic flair from RB2 (hell, they did an even better job on that one), so why not with Vegeta's... smh.

Even though Raging Blast was technically made to be a direct successor of the Sparking! Series for the 7th gen, the devs got a lot of backlash back then from players due to a lotta reasons (one of them If I'm not mistaken-the much smaller roster). And is indeed, very sad. When I was a kid, I played the shit outta Tenkaichi 2 and 3 on the Wii, and I can still remember my reaction when I tried RB for the first time. *It felt so much better*. Tenkaichi's were supposed to be the perfect simulators of the anime, and IMO, Raging Blast did the better job as far as that's concerned. I mean, seeing all those cutscenes, the power behind the ultimates, Frieza's transformations... Nah, bro, gotta play it again. Edit: Typos.

Sparking zero excells at everything except the beam clash, they dont evem show the tug of war to see whos winning, i hate that, visually its obviously prettier, but the camera work and lack of tug of war just feels like a step backwards overall

It's cheaply made.. it showed the same firing angle no matter where you start and alot of the supers do that too as of now and it feels cheap as hell. Not to mention, all the reused animations shared between multiple unrelated characters. They cut a lot of corners with this game. Accept it. Yes it will be good but they cut some burners. It's pretty but a lot of cheap great value shit going on that disrupts the combat and the emersion of the game. If they don't fix it, this will become some of the major negatives that people have to say about this game in years to come. It's not perfect.

@keVeeZpreme I disagree, RB movement which holds a part of combat, is really stiff and feels heavy to control, characters that move at faster then light speeds shouldn't feel like moving a tank, and with several actions for the game feeling sluggish, like the free vanish, the dodge, and the counter, there simply isn't much I personally enjoyed from RBs combat, again tats just my opinion

I like Raging Blast but I’m gonna have to disagree. It’s to many times when I’ve got a phantom hits during combat Raging blast. Raging blast is also a lot more stiff and slower. The only thing RB has on the BT series is that animations can be canceled and that more characters have tech. Besides that BT stands above it in all ways. (Not related but galaxy mode is fun ash)

in raging blast if you did the right combo while in rage mode you would blink around the map doing massive damage to your opponent. just like in the anime. I don't see that in DBS zero. Plus you can't really compare a game that was on the PS3 to one that is going to be on the PS5

Yes the new DB will be good. But the gameplay comparison really seems forced. Ragin Blast 2's gameplay is much bigger than the guy playing in the video, he just does the basics, while parts of the new DB show more things. Sparking Zero has no "cancels", that's all, the gameplay/combos will be lower compared to Ragin Blast 2. The rest will obviously be better due to the generation it is released in.

In the PS3 era anime games look their worst because devs couldn’t help themselves flaunting special effects but it just looks weird with cartoon characters. Why does it need realistic water and lighting? It’s supposed to be animation. Finally around PS4 with stuff like FighterZ they knew how to hold back… for the most part. Jump Force was the culmination of that hideous “realistic” thing.

Spike chunfost has been so ass after ultimate tenkaichi. Animations are so stiff and floaty now. There’s no finesse with the movements, hit don’t feel impactful and models are inconsistent. Trunks looks hideous in SZ. Also What’s up with the lighting shifting positions at the beginning of the match? We got 2 months and so far I’m extremely disappointed.
