Most people don’t know but the announcer has a name and it’s Mr.Alonsa. ❤️ He also was the announcer in dragon ball the original as well as In Super(Not shown except as a background cameo in scenes as a normal pedestrian) His great great great great grandson is carrying on the tradition of being the announcer. His name is unknown but fans still call him by his Grandfathers name.

When Buu said “Buu has played this game” in response to Vegeta’s game, I nearly shat myself. That was such a terrifying delivery of something that is essentially immortal at the root of magic. I’m with you on Buu. Not my favorite character but definitely my favorite villain. Specifically Fat Buu, Super Buu (no absorptions) and Kid Buu all land really well for me. My favorite character is Gohan. Specifically because I love the Great Saiyaman arc and his role throughout Buu. Even if he is sadly not apart of the finale when he ABSOLUTELY should have been. While I wish he was better handled, every time he gets involved with fighting when he specifically doesn’t like to, I’m happy. He creates better stakes than Goku and Vegeta ever did BECAUSE he so clearly cares. And they…significantly less so.

I will always give credit for TFS for giving the same story a funnier take but still maintaining the gravity of pivotal moments via their own narrative. For TFS Vegeta to refer to Goku as "best buddy", something TFS Goku calls Vegeta since coming to Namek, as an innocent term of endearment and also recognition of Vegeta's power as a fellow pure-blooded Saiyan, it speaks volumes and hits just as hard as the original scene of Vegeta's sacrifice. Then to end it with the running gag of "Vegeta, no!" "Vegeta, YES!" was a fantastic final call-back. Once again, the DBZ story, though a parody this time, managed to get me emotional for the proud Saiyan prince.

You know that's precisely why I dislike TFS, at least post Freeza. I feel like it stopped being a parody with the freeza arc and shifted to being "basically an actual dub with better dialogue than funimation". Characters are basically their original selves, only a bit exaggerated if anything at all, they make effort to make the epic scenes epic and ofc the great dialogue you mentioned that's less funny and more just...good writing. And that's fine but I feel like I don't need that. I watch a parody to see Gohan go ssj2 because 16's head had his ps2 save files in it or something, if I want to watch a good emotional, serious scene, I can just watch the original. I'd argue it's not even fair use anymore if you just retell the original material how it is and add 1 actual joke every 10minutes. For example LittleKuriboh's yugioh abridged is a parody. Dragonbullshit (dragonball super parody) is a parody. TFS is....great, but it's not a parody

Been waiting for you to see these. Even though we are only getting segments, I'm so glad TFS is doing the Buu saga in any capacity PS: 1. Videl and Gohan being Batman and Superman is not something I thought I needed 2. I like the idea that Krillin and Yamcha are the ones keeping the group together 3. Goten being Goku 2.0 is amazing 4. The Majin Vegeta bits were done *perfectly* 5. Buu switching between sinister, philosophical and childlike is *spot on*

Have to respect them for knowing when to stop, but seeing some of the peak moments of the last arc makes me truly wish copyright laws weren’t abusing their channel and that they weren’t burnt out over the long production on top of channel issues. It will always be hopium that they can one day finish their work, even though it’s already had a book ending “DBZA Will return for Season 4!” Is etched in my memory even if it’s removed now.

Fun dbz trivia, Marron is a French word for chestnut, keeping in touch with toriyama s naming scheme, for which kuririn also has a chestnut pun. Maron sounds the same in English with no meaning but was also the name of Krillin s filler girlfriend. Marron and Maron sound different in Japanese and DBS even made a reference to Krillins first girlfriend when 17 called his niece Maron on accident

They did actually do their own sitcom after DBZA. I believe it was after the DragonShortZ but before HIFL became the main project. It's called Unabridged. Sitcoms are generally not my thing, but the TFS crew did a damn fine job at it.

Some of these Buu Bits are better understood with the framing from Mark's writing and video. There's definitely moments of, "Why would TFS choose this scene?" when watching strictly the DBZA stuff as opposed to the full video. These in my opinion have a blend of the 2 feels and writing between Mark and TFS.

Tbf, he didn't have a choice. Look at the ToP in Super, the saiyans were all he had to work with. It was either try and get the saiyans to cooperate or hope that Buu doesn't do much damage before Beerus wakes up. There were no other options.
