Yeah, but the reason goku said that is because when they did the movie originally, they had Garlic jr scream "spaghetti" so it's a callback to that as well Im pretty sure at least correct me if im wrong

What Gohan ate is typically referred to as a beer apple. He became intoxicated in the film, this was a funnier twist. So no Kami was the strongest being on earth until around the start of Dragonball Z. He admitted by the time Goku fought Piccolo, both had surpassed him. Which was about 6 years before this film takes place. "A Saiyan hair doesn't grow" much like "over 9000" is a very popular mistranslation. The line was "A pure Saiyan's hair stays the same as after we're born, and does not go through any weird changes" people typically believe this means their hair doesn't grow. More accurately it means their hair style doesn't necessarily change. If Vegeta cuts his hair, it will naturally grow back to look the exact same way(when fully grown).

His only two fights in the show are against Yamcha (who he easily beats) and against Piccolo (who he almost beats), so it’s easy to forget how powerful the guy actually is.

20:23 is my favorite joke in the whole series. Just the pure, pathetic anticlimax of it. Garlic Jr is defeated with all the pomp and circumstance of a water balloon left in the sun for too long.

There's some *_deep lore_* behind this particular movie, which will explain a couple of jokes and the weird release order. In the prehistoric years before Team Four Star's creation, there existed a group called "The Neighbourhood Cluck", who gained some e-fame after abridging the early DBZ movies (not just this one). If you thought DBZA's early episodes were rough, then these were _twice_ as crusty. It wouldn't be out-of-place for a minion to say "douchebag" in every sentence, or no-context memes like yelling "SPAGHETTI!" loudly. Anyway, a chunk of Neighbourhood Cluck hooked up with some guys who wanted to try abridging the main DBZ TV show, and the rest is history.

I think this TFS movie special actually was released after season 2 ended (which is why Nappa shows up at the end, they had already established that he was back in their canon). The World's Strongest, which was the other one that referenced the psychedelic apples was released much later as their 2 million subscriber special. They are just placed where they are in the playlist because it fits better timeline-wise.

I mean, immortality can mean a lot of things not aging, not being able to die but still age (which means at some point you will be functionally dead). no death, no aging but you can still be cut and therefore tortured for eternity or getting chopped to bits and being functionally dead and more getting the "can't die, can't age, can't bleed" is so specific you probably have to ask for that specific type of immortality

I guess if the likes of krillin, yamcha and tenshinhan trained over the 5 year time skip maybe they surpassed Kami at this point though now that I think of it but he was stronger than those guys at the end of OG

According to the actual series, the Dragonballs are capable of doing anything that's within the ability of their creator. Kami was said to have created the Earth Dragonballs, implying that, among other things, he is fully able to make others immortal and bring others back to life.

Which begs the question of why Piccolo couldn't make new ones because he was supposedly from the wrong tribe. Surely he's from the same tribe as Kami, right? Maybe he, personally, couldn't, but being from the wrong tribe being the reason for it was frickin weird.

@@BJGvideos Piccolo's soul is Dragon Clan, but when King Piccolo was dying, he reincarnated himself into a Warrior Clan body, which gave him a higher than normal strength scaling but also stripped him of most of his Dragon Clan abilities. (aka clothes beam is about the most he can do in terms of magical manifestation). Also even if Piccolo was still pure Dragon Clan, he'd have been deemed worthy by the Gods to receive the blessing to make Dragon Balls. Which basically means he'd need to be deemed worthy of being Guardian of Earth, like Kami and Dende did.

Something I don't understand about wishing for immortality is... We know that the dragons can't do something outside of their creators power. We know that even Purunga couldn't force Goku to come back to earth because he was too strong. So what exactly would a dragon ball based immortality do besides prevent you from dying from old age? Because we also know that in dragonball universe that with enough Ki you can basically break through anything. That's how Goku won against that time stop guy in super.

It's Skygina , as in Vagina, I think it's meant to make fun of action/ spy movies like James Bond and I think it's a reference to the Bond movie called Octopussy . You can put garlic on spaghetti, my guess that's what Goku means by garlic Jr shouting spaghetti. Like I said on ep30 , you should watch ep31 and the April fool's day version of the episode called DBZ Kai 2.9 next back to back.

I'm the same way with going back 5 seconds by 5 seconds if I didn't get a joke or, if I finally get the context of something, going back to watch that part over with the full understanding. I tried the same to understand the spaghetti line, and I think it's because his name's Garlic. Not 100% sure. Glad I'm also not the only one with random thoughts like "Does Piccolo wash his clothes?" or "Namek Goku has much more experience and technique than Cell Games Gohan, but Call Games Gohan is stronger, so what would it actually _look_ like if they fought? Like Gohan's an even stronger Frieza opponent? Would Goku look like the inexperienced kid?" "When Goku uses Instant Transmission, how come the planet doesn't teleport with him if he's standing on it and therefore touching it?"

In the main series, Krillin had no idea Gohan existed when Goku and Gohan showed up on Master Roshi's Island. So the Dead Zone has a major continuity issue with Krillin showing up and meeting Gohan. Even Team Four Star had Krillin not knowing Gohan in Episode 1. Team Four Star also didn't abridged the movies or specials in any real order. In order to justify this movie and include the Garlic Jr. Saga, they had Krillin re-tell the events and have him self-inserting himself to sell to Hollywood Producer Nappa. I hope everyone understands now why I placed this movie here on the watchlist. Go in Peace and Walk with God! 😎 👍

All the movies have continuity issues with the main show. Except for the Broly movie, which fits the timeline just barely even if it makes no sense it should be there - why would everyone leave the planet just before the Cell Games started? So the right way to enjoy the movies is "it takes place around this time, give or take, and don't think about the continuity too hard".

oenr ...And while that may be true for the official release, Team Four Star's DBZ Abridged movies have some connective tissue with the series. They do this with running gags or continuity or both. When coming up with my watchlist, I first had to put the movies where they would most logically fit. If there wasn't one, I tried to space them out between episodes to balance them out (Thanos: "As all things should."). Go check out my watchlist. Tell me what you think of my solution.
