Recently Shida said he usually prepares storyboarding within a month, and confirmed he animated one scene of the DBGT opening, which you can find on Sakugabooru. They also asked him if he took part to the Goku vs Majin Vegeta fight, and he stated he didn't remember. [UPDATE]: I rewatched that fight over and over again, and apparently none of these scenes were animated by Shida. The one from ep. 232 looks more like Yamamuro.

Gogeta Jail Time Same, with Taka it’s all good, but on the movie I didn’t like it. I wanted to see Karasawa, Manabe, and Nakiado, but you can only see a few uncorrected frames of Manabe, and Nikaidos linework. Everything else looks like Taka.

@@spennyva9159 I only saw Karasawa and Nikaido's work under Takahashi's supervision. Can you please tell me what scene Manabe did in the movie? Also, I'm upset how Yuya Takahashi didn't follow the sheet design. I mean, on the Vegeta vs. Broly I guess it's fine because shading builds up as the fight goes on. But on Goku vs. Broly, the animation became inconsistent (Onishi to Takahashi) and it's hard to look at. Well I'm hoping he'll follow sheet design in the future.

@@skealla5372 It's because they switched from Takahashi's angular designs to Onishi's very loose designs, right back to Takahashi again. Doing that is obviously going to be jarring. Shida doesn't really follow the design sheets either when he does his work, yet they look better because his designs, while still very detailed, are looser than Takahashi's.

It's probably related to later fights being less choreographed and with more ki blast overuse. Nonetheless, his movie scenes are noteworthy.

you are not alone, sir. I loved his hand-to-hand choreography during his time at Last House. Even if Last House's character designs are off-model, I just loved the smoothness of their choreography animation, especially when Shida was part of their team. Maybe it's just me too LOL

stampoulis rafail I don't watch pokémon, but the new series has lots of good animation from what I've seen, the hate some ppl have is for the new minimalistic designs, wich are very good from a technical point of view, it makes the animators' work easier and gives them more creative freedom art and animation wise, but most of them don't know that

stampoulis rafail The difference between why one is justified and why another isn't is because DBS legit had pre-production issues beginning from poor management on Toei's front. That coupled with Yamamuro's awful character designs which he imposed upon, just gave Super a disaster start. You still get hiccups from time to time from well animated episodes/well drawn episodes from the recent episodes but certainly not as contrasting as the Beerus, Golden Frieza and U6vU7 Arc. It's only during the Black arc where things started to become more stabilized similar to Z's quality wheel. For all intents and purposes, those haters were right to hate on Super for it's animation and art until the Black arc. The story content however...

arthur scown Character development was amazing, villains felt terrifiying. Moments were intense. Art and animation were excellent (But it's a seasonal show so eh) When All might talked about One for all, I felt chills. DB is nothing special anymore now. It's shit, I was one of those guys who loved DBS and got butthurt about it whenever someone said anything bad. But now, most of them were right. DBS is nothing new, it sucks. Every day an episode comes, I feel like they are getting more bad with it, Hell even DBZ was bad it only felt good till the Freiza saga. Cell Saga was decent and Buu Saga was badly written, cool concepts but written bad. My hero academia is something I get chills from, even from the Manga. It is interesting and keeps the viewers engaged unlike Db, I been watching DB from my childhood and never got chills except for Goku turning SSJ3, never felt the story was interesting. But needed to watch it, mainly because I had nothing to watch at that tine.

DBanimators Well, tbh. My Hero academia is a mixture of The Og DB genre. Action, comedy, character development (Which DB was a masterpiece at) cool designs.

No. DB was never that great in terms of character moments. I don't think it's a fair comparison, just to say 'Super is shit', because DB hasn't got a complex story, either.
