Here is a logistics issue. If they are made at 8am and delivered between 9am and 11am, this means they need to be sold by 5pm. This sounds fine and well, but delivery happens as people have left for work. Nobody is out shopping between 9am and 11am. Most people are off work by 5pm, when they expire. This means that you are delivering perishable food when people are at work, and it expires when they are coming home. The vast majority of your market is physically unavailable for purchase. And for that reason, I'm out.

They could be bought and consumed on lunch breaks.

Having a samosa factory and the ability to deliver only within a radius of the factory because of the shelfife is not a good idea. That means he would be limited to the business around that area only. It's unfortunate. He might be better off just having a Samosa Food Truck. I wish him good luck.
@sushimamba42814 жыл бұрын
I've got a better product. It's called SamosApp (TM). It's an app that once downloaded to your phone, you click a button and the samosas are teleported from India and materialise right in your kitchen. They must be eaten within 9 hours though.

Things this guy has to pay for before he puts a single cent in his pocket Driver wages Factory worker wages Admin staff wages Cost of stock Cost of his heated units Lease on heated vans Commercial insurance on vans Goods in transit and public liability insurance for each van Lease on factory Lease on cooking equipment or upfront costs of buying it Insurance on factory Insurance on cooking equipment For what he is proposing he needs to be making at least 1k per van per day. The costs are astronomical and 300 per day for 6 vans won't even cover his wage bill per factory. And increasing the number of vans won't necessarily draw in more profits. In order to counteract the costs of having more vans he needs to have a huge fleet of dozens of vans each pulling in 700-1000 euros per day. He was doomed to fail. He has looked at the most basic of costs. His unit and converting a factory. And decided that since they seem reasonable the rest of the business must be viable. And it's just not
@matthewmcnamara23064 жыл бұрын
@d_a_n_y he already has a takeaway restaurant that must be doing okay for him to even consider this venture. Why not be happy with what he has or even start opening more branches or franchises? He could have a restaurant in every major city in Ireland and the uk and the profit margins would be much larger along with it being actually an achievable aspiration

they sell samosas in budgens in London. They dont taste as good as authentic samosas do, but they're designed to be microwavable and last longer than 9 hours. They come precooked and kept at room temp and budgens will mircowave it for you. Its a crazy idea, get into asian flavour sandwiches or something that is scalable. This is madness and wont work.
@Professional_Youtube_Commenter4 жыл бұрын
@Alex Sokolov what's so funny about that? Tandoor chicken sandwiches are quite tasty. When done right of course.
@Professional_Youtube_Commenter4 жыл бұрын
@Alex Sokolov I never called samosas Asian flavoured sandwiches. I think you misread and jumped to that conclusion. I said they are better off with Asian flavoured sandwiches so they can be chilled with all the other sandwiches and us easier to sell. Plus it will fill you up more too. The samosa needs it's own heating van and heating cabinet.

No, what he was wanting to do was going to be a logistical nightmare. He could have purchased battery powered high end heated holding boxes for the delivery vans to really cut the cost of getting a heated truck. Even with that, it’s unrealistic to think that you can deliver an item with a 9 hour shelf life to multiple venues every day. Also there wasn’t enough turn around on his items to be worth the risk. He needed to have 5 locations he’s already feeding these to to be able to properly pitch it to investors.

He'd make so much more money with less worries/overheads if he just delivered them frozen. Or, penetrated Cork's asshole and dominated it with his Samosas. Then he could let a big company come in and either royalty him out, or take care of other cities. He's going for a marathon run in gumboots right now. Needs to wind it back in and prove his product locally first. He needed to get like 20 of these machines made. And get them all out within a close proximity of the place he currently cooks from. Then he would have had something to show the Dragons.
