FYI, you don't get the boost to dragon communion incantations until you use the rock heart when you're ALREADY transformed. You can tell by the red glow around you when you use it a second time.

Does the transformation have increased defense over naked?

Yeah it gives you a 10% negation boost

Hows knockdown without the 51+ poise from armor? Do you get knocked down often on the first hit towards you?

I haven't had an issue, but I also don't try to tank a hit while attacking. So may end up getting knocked down still.

It probably depends on the spell, I’m p sure w dragonclaw and dragonmaw you’ll be fine but I’ve heard the breath spells and the bayles spells have a bit less hyper armor

Preference. But I like the infinite mana one mixed with the bubble for a free hit.
