The writing just gets better with each season we start. We forgot Krillen was wished back which made the Krillin angle unexpected but hilariously done. But the real question still remains, why doesn't Goku want to come home yet?

Goku didn't come back because the pod he rode in took him to a different planet. I don't remember the exact reason he didn't come back but he just wasn't ready to come home just yet

You guys should watch DBZA Kai 1, 2 and 2.9 next. DBZA Kai is basically a short, 3-to-6-minute-long recap of each season. They're hilarious, while also serving as good recaps/refreshers of what happened. DBZA Kai 1 covers Season 1, DBZA Kai 2 covers Season 2, and then Season 3 is broken up into Kai 3 and Kai 3.5. (It's called "Kai" because "DBZ Kai" the name of the official remaster/recut of DBZ, where they cut out all the filler, in a way "abridging" the show) And then Kai 2.9 was originally an April Fool's Day special from TFS covering the Garlic Jr. Saga. Here in Ep. 31, Garlic Jr. returns from the movie The Dead Zone, but then Popo just dispatches him and he doesn't end up mattering at all. That's because the entire Garlic Jr arc in the anime was filler; it was written solely to halt the main plot while they waited for Toriyama to write more manga. But then as a joke in 2019, TFS actually went back and abridged the whole Garlic Jr. arc. Honestly, it feels more like a DBZA movie than a DBZA Kai episode, as far as pacing and stuff goes. Oh, and as for Mr. Popo-in the anime he's just a nice genie man who lives up on Kami's Lookout. But there was a scene in one of the later arcs where these two very strong characters see him and think he's an enemy and try to attack him. And he's just blocking all their blows with his hands while trying to calm them down like "Hey, chill out, I'm a friend". It was a gag, and the intent wasn't to imply that he was strong, but TFS found the implication that Mr. Popo was so powerful that he could fight off two of the strongest characters in the show at the same time, almost effortlessly, hilarious. So they decided to make the running gag of implying that he's terrifyingly powerful.

19:50 OK so, i'm forgetting the full context, but apparently at one point TFS had a trailer put together for this episode, the "proper" start to Season 3, and either changed it up or scrapped it entirely, only mentioning it recently in their commentary reels, and they used this little exchange as the ending stinger for said trailer.

Did anyone ever straighten them out about Vegeta not being Goku's brother? Raditz, the guy from the first episode, is Goku's brother. Also, everytime someone does the solar flare if you freeze it at the right time there is a special frame in the middle of it.

This makes me laugh every time, because it's really easy to forget, in light of him always getting clowned on, that Krillin is legitimately the strongest human on Earth. Sure, he's nothing next to the Namekian and the Saiyans, but in pure strength alone, he could easily take on anyone and everyone else. And if we're going beyond just pure strength, he can literally shoot laser beams and fly.

Episode 31 may be all the filler put together but I love this episode, it's one of the funniest ones. Also the restaurant was called L'Amnus Serre, and is a very "uptight" plaxe... the name translates to The Shut Ass.

"What happened to Goku?" "Aaaand He's out of commission, what are the odds?" - A. Krillin. "I wonder if this will be a trend?" - A. Goku. In all honesty, ever since the Saiyan Saga, the norm of Goku somehow getting injured or is unable to fight gets kinda tedious when you marathon Dragon Ball Z. I read the Manga of Dragon Ball and the usual "Goku can't fight because of reasons" schtick felt natural since Goku was still a kid and needs the time to heal and train between fights. It also is a tool to give more dread for the other characters since the literal strongest in the group is currently not here to save them.

The Earth Dragon Balls can wish back many people at once but only if they haven't been brought back before. The Namek Dragon Balls can only wish back one person at a time, but can do that indefinitely. Krillin already died once when Goku was a kid and was brought back with the Earth Dragon Balls. This is why when Popo wished for everyone killed by Frieza and his Men to be brought back to life it didn't bring back Krillin. He was later wished back by the Namek Dragon Balls.

Mr Popo in the original anime is arguably as powerful as he's shown to be here, although mostly because power levels are bullshit and the creators don't care as much about them as the fans do. I know you're watching the original show and I'm not sure how far through you are so I'll keep it vague, but basically in a later arc a couple of really powerful characters mistakenly attack Mr Popo and he's able to hold them off without any trouble until the misunderstanding is sorted out. We never see him do the kind of intense training that would suggest his power level has changed over the course of the show, so he's probably that strong from the start. Which means he should have been able to defeat everyone up until at least the second pair of androids without breaking a sweat. He could have easily taken out Vegeta, Nappa, Freeza, and the Ginyu force, but he was too busy making toast. Needless to say, Garlic Jr attacking him would be very unwise. Or we put too much importance on one filler fight that wasn't even in the original manga. But it's fun to think he's ludicrously powerful.

No not Season 1. Beginning Season 2. Vegeta got his tail cut by yaijirobe and an alien doctor on one of Frieza´s planets informed him that they couldn´t grow it back. so he likely removed it completely. Which makes no sense because with Goku and gohan it grew back fine when cut. In turn because he called him a tailless freak Vegeta removed the doctors liver.
