For a “Power Metal Fantasy” band, this song is just about perfect: ZP nails the singing, Dave does Dave things on the drums, Herman and Sam shred their guitars like grandmasters. I can’t think of a single thing wrong with this song.

God I miss ZP Theart, his voice was something that I love, and will still love until the ends of time, he made my teenage years and motivate me to sing with the voice he has, this is how impactful his voice is, he made Dragonforce, Marc is an amazing singer, yet ZP Theart is Dragonforce's voice. Warning, very long comment incoming. Also MAJOR spoilers for Elden Ring. I used to pass on this song, considering it mid compared to the rest of DragonForce's most known bangers like TTFaF and Operation Ground and Pound, but as I've aged it's become my favourite of the lot. Especially since Elden Ring released. I consider this song to be the personification of that game. The drums at the beginning reminds me of Marika's Hammer shattering the Elden Ring, with the actual Shattering War being represented by the intro solo. "Lost in a dream" evokes visions of Miquella in his cocoon. "Emptiness and everlasting madness" is like the emptiness left in the Giants' chests after the eye of their Fell God was ripped out of them, and the madness of the Frenzied Flame. You can very much "see the sadness grow" across the Lands Between, that sadness originating "Long before our journey for the World". Tarnished of vastly different skill sets and power levels help eachother out on their own journeys as summons/furled fingers against overwhelming odds and are seemingly undeterred by a bleak future "call for us, the power in all of us, so far beyond the blackened sky tonight." The three choruses repeating that "we'll all find our sacrifice tomorrow, and journey on towards a brighter day" reminds me of three specific sacrifices made by important characters trying and usher in a better world. Ranni killing her own Empyrean flesh to be free of the Greater Will, Melina using herself as kindling to burn the Erdtree, and Godfrey seeing his son Morgott for the first time in millennia, dead, and turning into one last guiding piece of Grace towards Godfrey's final battle, with us. The bass drop right before the final chorus even feels like one of his AoE stomps. Similarly "Rise above the universe tonight, Starchaser" has me thinking of Radahn's, Astel's, and Elden Beast's fights. Radahn's where he rises up as a meteor in the phase change, then when he dies we literally chase a fallen star to its impact site. Astel's where he rises up to prepare his gravity rings attack, then when we've killed him, we journey onwards to the Church of Manus Celes where starlight shards litter the place and Ranni kills her Two Fingers to begin her Age of Stars. Elden Beast's when he flies around the arena while we chase the being that was sent down on a star by the Greater Will. There's a lot more I'm reminded of by different parts of the main solo, but tying to explain which sections make me think of which boss/lore snippet and why is gonna get really tedious and probably just sound pretentious as fuck so I'll leave it there. Goddamn I love this song and that game so fucking much. TL;DR: This song should be renamed "Elden Ring: The Song".
