I think Tina S's purpose was just to demonstrate her technical virtuosity for fun. She wasn't fronting a band in these videos as a young teenager. She's clearly mastered many techniques of many outstanding metal players and does it so effortlessly. That's called doing your homework. As of 2023 she's in a band, Spin Twice, and is doing her own thing with this knowledge and expertise.
@Biomirth Жыл бұрын
Maybe. I think you're on the right track at least. She's not showing off, or trying to become famous, or anything like that. My take would be that she loves the challenge, pure and simple. For some musicians those 2nd latency years (12-16 or so) can be another acceleration of improvement. For the truly talented and dedicated it can become a bit of an addiction. Imagine if every other time you sat down to practice you were already better than before? You know mountaineers were asked "Why did you climb it when it was so difficult?" "Because it was there". Something like that happens with artistic talent, particularly in music (which has mathematical and memory elements as well as technique and emotionality). My guess is, if you asked her why she did it she'd say "My teacher was cool and it was a challenge, so I tried it".

@liliIiliIilil3 жыл бұрын
My understanding is that they give not just publicity, but if the copyright holder claims a video, the uploader can just allow all revenue generated from the video to be given to the copyright holder, so they are actually making the rights holders more money.
@Garbox803 жыл бұрын
@@liliIiliIilil That's how it is at least with the reaction video scene. Which to me is kind of sad, because if the content creator is good and gets a lot of views, they've made a lot of PR for the band. At least split the revenue (as some publishers do I've heard). And it's the publishers usually, not the bands.

I hate when people say "no passion" or stuff like that as a response to a player not making faces or just playing the song. Naturally monotoned individuals can be perfectly happy and passionate without visibly showing it. It's an insult to say someone doesn't have passion simply because they don't look the way you think passion should look.

THIS! From her body language, my guess is that she's an introvert. A strong introvert might feel something very deeply on the inside, but not be very "showy" about their emotions on the outside. (My God, if I only had a dollar for every time someone assumed I was "calm" or "bored" or "unemotional" when I was a roiling mass of emotions on the inside!) But I can see her enjoyment in those small head bobs and tiny shifts of expression as she plays, not to mention that no one devotes as much time to learning how to play something this difficult with this much skill unless they are passionate about it in the first place. Also, girls and young women tend to be under a lot more societal pressure to smile all the freaking time in order to "look pretty" for others, and not bending to that pressure can get one labeled as "cold" or "bitchy." Again, that might be less of a problem for a girl who more naturally shows her emotions, including happiness, on the outside and tends to smile more, but it can be hell on a girl who internalizes her feelings but is constantly bombarded by messaging that she has to constantly smile and look pretty/pleasant for other people's pleasure in order to be accepted and not seen as somehow cold or antisocial.

I am pretty sure that many artists understand that restreaming and republishing of their work is a very efficient and very cheap promotion. Publishers, on the other hand, seem to be a little behind on that... At this point, if a publisher sells a license to someone to use copyrighted music as background, let's say while live streaming a game for 10 thousand viewers, that is literally free promotion, and it has a community aspect which makes it a lot more efficient. This kind of thing should be commonplace nowadays.

Ive been a guitar fan since the 1980s, Knopfler, Gilmour, Clapton etc etc. I remember when seeing this track for the first time thinking this is "Guitar Perfected" the absolute benchmark of creamy playing, so anyone that comes even close to your skill is doing pretty good mate. And so graceful in your evaluation of the cover, you are more than qualified to give pointers since you wrote the track mate. Top marks from a true fan of Guitar licks. The Fire & The Flames one of the best ever guitar solos ever played.
