hello my friend, i like your channel and cool tutorials. I have a question for you. I downloaded the dragon frame trial version and i connected my Nikon D7000 and live view is working and i can change the iso and shutter speed on live view and the brightness changes but when i change my aperture on dragon frame the exposure is not changing at all? do you know why my aperture is not effecting the live mode? please let me know thank you
@edupuertasfruns7 жыл бұрын
The lens you use are manual or atomatic in aperture? If manual you must do manual. Check that you have the hability to change the aperture in your camera, the pins in the lens or camera body could be dirty or something. You can verify all is manual in the camera. If all is right, I would suggest you the following, go help tab and execute the camera test. If you don't find the issue, then report an issue in the same tab. Their support is great and they have always helped me with that technical issues. Good luck
@SudipKhadka7 жыл бұрын
edu puertas I can change the aperture manually while taking still shots on my camera but when I switch to Live mode even on camera I can't change the aperture unless I exit the Live mode, change the aperture and come back to live mode and it works. it must be Nikon DX crop sensor thing is it? Nice review - thanks for breaking the news about dragonframe 4! Is there any upgrade to the camera support? I shoot Nikon and feel really limited by the live view resolution. I would switch to canon but even then the preview resolution is limited. Would love to hear if they've added cameras (especially mirrorless) and if any of them support higher res preview
@edupuertasfruns7 жыл бұрын
I am happy with the preview resolution on my 5D and 80D, by default 1024x680 pix. You can use magnification to see details in parts when animating and then you will see a closeup in good resolution. Now Dragon accepts some mirrorless but you need to buy a Blackmagic capture device to input hdmi from the camera. It accepts Sony Alpha A7 for example.
@amaedesign7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your reply! I've been struggling with the 640x426 live view resolution on my D800, especially for detail focusing. It's the worst when I'm trying to rack focus smoothly across many frames and I can't see my markers in the scene. Maybe you're right that Canon's live view resolution is good enough... it's 2.5x more pixels than the Nikon live view. I'm considering switching. Anyway, thanks for your great videos - really enjoy watching your content!

Hi Edu! Your projects are wonderful! I built a 3-axis slider based on your designs. My doubt is. Inside the Dragonframe can I make the movements in real time for video recording? I can only move the camera with all axes at the same time between 2 keyframes. I didn't find a button to perform the complete movement of all axes in all keyframes. I want to point out that I would like to shoot from the Dragonframe. At the moment I don't want to shoot stopmotion. I don't know if I was clear on my question? I read in the FAQ on the Dragonframe website that it is not possible to do REAL-TIME SHOOTING from arduino? Do you use REAL-TIME SHOOTING in your day to day? Thanks for your attention!

I will probably need to upgrade Dragonframe once I get into animating on my current film project. Though I don't need to (it's already great), I imagine version 3 won't be upgraded for compatibility as the Mac OS is changed. So it may eventually become buggy.
@edupuertasfruns7 жыл бұрын
You are right, 3 is ok to keep animating but provably it won't accept changes in the OS or new cameras. Anyway you have time. When are you planning to start animating it?
@animateclay7 жыл бұрын
It will be in a few months, not too far away. I'm still making the little clay characters and some sets still. It will most likely be fine but I do believe everyone will eventually need to upgrade if they discontinue support for the previous version.

The maximum I know, you can use 2 cameras on dragonframe, one for video input and other for capture imput, so, you will get only high images from one. But, you can take a manual shutter and trigger the other cameras manually storing the info in the cards. That's how I do that. It's tricky because you need to remember to shoot always but, I don't know another way. I will ask them if there is any option I don't know.
