I never realized the parallels between ochkanatlan story with mondstadt until this video, except that I did think och-kan's mind form is similar to wind wisp venti. I wonder if this world quest will be connected to the archon quest. It might be cool if the archon quest will be the conclusion to whatever ubah-kan is planning. Song, poetry, seed, and memories, they constantly hold importance throughout genshin lore and those all are venti's things. We desperately need his 2nd SQ.

I think Ochkanatlan might be one of my favorite areas and stoires in the recent portion of genshin updates. It's was a lot of fun exploring the scraps of lore from items and the open world as a buildup to the 5.2 update. Actually getting to explore the cinder city along with what lies above and below was more fun than I would've thought it could be. It changed the way that I see the sage of the stolen flame now and makes me wonder if the kind of evolution he has planned for the little guy would be similar to the path he had laid out for Och-kan. There are still things I'm looking forward to; like the identity of the 2nd pyro archon if they're ever going to reveal his name, why the lords of the night had beef with the sage in early natlan, and what we'll have to confront when we reach Tollan's great volcano. Keep putting out bangers, looking forward to the next (four) videos

Not once in the quest I noticed that Och-Kan was adoring Xbalanque, cooperating with him - anything about those two - maybe it was hinted in some vague first person notes that I couldn't safely link to a character (or didn't dare out of my lack of knowledge) . And that's why the info dump from this quest felt great but I also failed to connect it together and make too many conclusions. Especially fit Xbalanque in there. Do you think the staggering similarities between Och-Kan and Xiuhcoatl were due to the fact that both were supposed to share the same Role/Title/Name (as Pyro Sovereign)? I think you talked about this role concept in your recap of Simulanka a while ago and I was wondering if Och-Kan’s Fate was meant to lead him into the “Role” of Dragon Sovereign because Xbalanque unexpectedly showed up out of nowhere and changed the course of history, thereby stripping Och-Kan of his intended “Role” and Fate. This kinda makes Xbalanque even more suspicious as a character, by the way.

Ok when you’re talking about the Sage somehow acquiring a human soul to create Ochkan, I immediately thought about Ororon’s broken soul… (i’m only 21 minutes in so forgive me if you talk about this later in the video) and his Ancient Name’s original bearer had a damaged/incomplete soul too, I think Citlali said that in the event? Also, Capitano has something going on with souls. This whole time I’ve been very confused about the broken/damaged/incomplete soul thing, because they never seem to give literally any info about that when it’s mentioned. But now that we see the Sage specifically talking about taking human souls to create Ochkan and human “masks”…… maybe there’s a connection there?

I think the dragon sage experiment has had already many “failures”, as the red mark on dragons or Saurians means that they can reach sovereign-hood( just invented the word) however, this time with the traveler I think he’s being EXTRA helpful to us just to see how that plan would work (and bc of the fact that we are the main character so we are not failing lol). Other thing that comes to mind is that, what if the experiment has to do with the marked dragons/saurians “going crazy” and that specific part of going crazy is something that the dragon/saurian has to overcome (with the help of a human due to the ritual that was explained to us in 5.1) to be able to be the next pyro sovereign or vessel for the PS and be in peace with humanity and at the same time get that “evolution” of dragons and humans getting together… I guess we have to wait till 5.3 to know all the plan fully explained

I don't think Ronova is far fetched at all. Genshin currently has a theme with spirits committing sins you have Liloupar whatever Venti did that has been hidden basically since the beginning of the game not to mention Deshrets wife so that is totally in line with the way the story is being told. What I am more curious about is how much of the ancient history of Teyvat that the Fatui know about. Because the experiments Xbalanque was conducting reminds me of what Dottore is trying to achieve a master race. He basically uses Scaramouche the same way Xbalanque used Och-Kan. Keep in mind that this is just one journey of many supposedly the other sibling went through all of this on the first go and her interpretation was to join the Abyss now why would she/he do that unless something is very off with what is being told in game. We met the sibling he/she doesn't seem corrupted at all not to mention that Hoyo never tells stories that are black and white. From my perspective the Abyss is trying to correct a sin a shade made to a people that is jeopardizing the entirety of the Leyline network I am afraid that does not prove that they are evil What I think Genshin is trying to show is that the same ambitious characters are revived into the story, they may have different factions but the core fate remains. It is has been mentioned many times that there is an audience for Teyvat, watching from outside but not why or whom, I was curious if you can speculate of whom that could be. It's almost like it's a play or a movie kind of like humanity didn't survive at all only memories. Teyvat would than become an experiment of it's own to recreate humanity or the "old world" with memories from the Cataclysm. But someone must have started it from the beginning humans from a different planet? Elon Musk in the future? I mean they already have a pun with him so it would not surprise me.

I thought Manqu was dead because he disappeared from his spot after the abyss war in Natlan. Legba is still there and there are no changes in dialogue but Titu just says he just happened to have "the same name" when you ask him about Ochkanatlan. I think hoyo forgot to update Legba
