Boy, you Aussies must be the most physically fit people ever! Every house, every street, every front yard, every side yard, every back yard is on, like, 15 different levels! Steps, ramps, more steps, more steps, climb down a rock face, more steps, etc... Whew!!!

That drain would work perfectly if there were no plants and no water.
@sranubus3 жыл бұрын
I'd say no plants for sure. I guess the point of this design is to cut a bit of cost on the material of the French drain (what we call them in the states) instead of the entirety of the depressed concrete holding a French drain they just formed a step with a sliver of material. Looks like it still held as much water but only that 2inch wide by 5 or 6 inch deep sliver was really they only drain

Can’t believe you called Ratty a “little wuss”!! 😊
@Namaste30043 жыл бұрын
I understood "little Wutz". 😉 "Wutz" is another name and also a nickname for the German word "Schwein" (pig) and is often used in German for someone who has gotten dirty or is dirty. When you say "du Wutz" (something like "you little pig") to someone, it is meant lovingly. That's why I heard Ollie say "little Wutz". Only Ollie can tell if I got him right. 😅 Do you understand? 😉

@@In4mnt Thanks for answering me and giving your opinion. ☺️ Since I'm German, I don't know this Australian slang "little wuss" or its meaning. But it may very well be that he said that to Ratty because he was hiding there. As I said, I understood "little pig". 😉 Anyway, only Ollie can clear it up. 😊

Homeowner to engineer #1 I’d like a pool-no problem we can put it in the backyard. Homeowner to engineer #2 I’d really like a floor drain to manage storm water. Please be sure to start it in the bushes and trees with shallow thick roots. In a few years it’ll ensure I have to call DrainGo. Bravo Ollie!

I believe those drain are used on ultra minimalist setup where it just appears as slit or shadow gap, this is the first time I saw it used that way as a channel within a channel. I'm guessing the designer meant to put tile/slate on top to make it invisible? But there are other specialty drain channel for that so yeah I don't get it either..
