One of the most difficult things when it comes to CO selection is to match your CO playstyle. Shock failed doing so, played very agressively for Drake. But anyway, that led to this masterpiece. Excelent video.

The neo crashing isn’t a replay viewer bug, it’s actually a site bug. Neos consume 1 fuel per turn, and like all other fuel-consuming units, they crash when they run out (:

In the actual games, when vehicles run out of fuel they just sit there until you refuel them with a apc/they are destroyed

I think that the reason that Neotank died out of fuel is that it burns 1 fuel per day, so the replay maybe thought it was going to die? It makes sense because the only units that die because of lack of fuel are the ones who burns it daily

When I find myself in a position where I can build air units and my opponent can't, I immediately start pumping out bombers. Especially on maps where rivers and mountains obstruct anti air movement. I was surprised Konton waited so long before he built his first bomber.

I remember fighting Sif in this map, he crushed me with ease as von bolt, especially when he denied my com tower every turn. You really have to watch out for your cap phase here. Anyway, nice commentary!

Hope more are coming. 23:22 I think it actually was worse for Shock that the Ex Machina hit the two bases, because the units in the middle got wiped out anyways, while the paralyzed units on the bases makes him baseskip, drain funds and can't reinforce the middle area (which is in shambles now).

Hola Profeta, thanks for the comment! You are right yeah, the ex machina usually is best to hit active units which is why I said that on a whim, but that entire centre was getting destroyed anyway lol

Konton's opening was so absolutely disgusting to witness that I had to use it on my game vs Jokas. I was unable to plan properly my turns in the opening and I still managed to snatch a neutral property from it. This was a very fun match to watch in live.

Great game, great analysis 👍 My initial thought on viewing the matchup was "Is Drake really on a par with Von Bolt? Especially on a map with airs, but no navals?" (not that navals matter anyway lol) - and on watching, I feel that question is leaning towards a no tbh. Konton may have a hidden high power level, but shock just has a high power level end of story and he got caned! The critical errors happened before the match switched into an impromptu live spectacle too, so it's not like the jumblerush that followed is the root cause of what happened. I just think Drake's waves of direct COP and SCOP damage can't make up for the sheer D2D advantage of a final boss-tier CO, especially when you consider that Drake has a disadvantage with no advantage of his own.

@@atruebossawbw You're most welcome ATB 👌 High funds is something I've only begun to think about in detail thanks to your channel, and intriguing quirks such as this are among the many key insights for people looking at the mode from my sort of view to discover. If my thinking adds up: - Direct field-wide damage is simply much more powerful when armies are larger and full of pricier units, compared to mere stat boosts or regionally-limited effects such as Meteor Strike or Grand Bolt? Presumably healing effects are also improved, so would Andy place a little higher in HF? - Max receives a boost because most of the big, strong, viable pricey units are direct combat? I was already aware that Grit would be nerfed in HF since Battleships and Aircraft Carriers are too limited and too naval to factor in, and there's too low a variety of indirects for him in general (plus air units are more prominent and Missiles are horrendously niche) - but I suppose it also makes sense that Max would be stronger in an environment with less credible indirect threats in general. Would Eagle also be stronger just for his airforce in a Bomber and Fighter-saturated space?

Was this really an epic game? Honestly, it was just a completely one sided match from the outset. The airport denial was good, but the rest was kinda bland 😅 I think this game was probably a "you had to be there" type of thing as in watching it live. Good commentary though as usual!
