That rust remover has been my go to for over 10yrs. The biggest thing is that it removes the staining from tannic acid you get from river water, not just rust staining. Just needs to be applied with a good mist so you get coverage

I'm a Private boat owner who enjoy your vids! It would be great to have a spread sheet type video of sorts that showed the different steps for Gelcoat in various conditions - little or no oxidation, light oxidation, heavy oxidation, perhaps for both white and colored finishes. Perhaps it could include the various products and equipment as well as recommendations for maintenance. I have a relatively new boat w/little or no oxidation and i'm overwhelmed by different approaches and since it's a rather large sailing catamaran w/expanses of gelcoat, I don't want to waste my time w/incorrect or unnecessary steps.

Thank you ! ... love your video because you're not trying to flog some miracle product that'll last for years and requires no effort to put on... Ive been waxing boats for over 15 years and there's no substitute for good surface prep, machine application and then hand wipe off ... I leave my wax to dry over night which is probably not necessary - but it would be interesting to know just how long it takes for the wax to totally harden ? ...guess it depends on temp, humid , brand etc .. anyway - thumbs-up from Australia mate !!

It does seem to look better, but as it dries out, it gets white(ish) again. Is there a solution to make that red look new again? Repeat the steps until it looks good, or is there another step or product? Thanks!

I just discovered your videos and now I’m hooked. I have a 2017 chaparral that is black. I bought it new and I’ve been polishing/waxing each season to maintain its gloss. One thing I struggle with is proper order of doing things. Where I’m located we have. Wry hard water. If I strip the wax using dawn dish soap and attempt to rinse and dry, I seem to always get water spots. Should my next stop be to polish the boat which will remove water spots, and then wax. I just bought a griot orbital polisher and don’t mind putting in the time to make it look the best that I can as a diy person. Thanks

Why in the RV video do you say to use a lambswool padded brush instead of a soft bristle brush so that it doesn't damage the gelcoat, but here you're using a soft bristle brush on a boat's gelcoat? Also, I notice you use Jescar PowerPoint for both boat's and RVs. I just bought some because of your recommendation. But because you use it for RVs too it makes me wonder: is it technically a marine sealant? Thanks for the channel by the way. I've learned a lot!

Use the softest brush you have, also Jescar is a paint sealant it’s not technically a marine product.

Thanks for the great tips. What brand and size is the orbital buffer?

I was planning on compounding my boat then polishing. Would using this product eliminate me having to compound? Should I compound then use this product? Thanks for the tip on Dawn. No wonder my boat is looking worse. Ive stripped everything off of it
@DrakesDetailing9 ай бұрын
Hey bro! It all depends on the condition of the gel coat whether it needs to be compounded or not. If there is a chalky field to the gel coat and you can scratch it with your nails, and it feels like a chalkboard, then you need to heavy, cut to remove the oxidation. if there’s no oxidation just holograms, then just polish, then seal.

Hey bud....Great video. Is there a reason why you don't use the same machine to buff it?
@DrakesDetailing Жыл бұрын
Hi Robert, yes the rotary is used for heavy buffing and cutting. If you were to use it for waxing then it would leave a bunch of swirl marks that’s why you use either a force rotation machine or a DA polisher. You cannot use a DA Polisher for Buffing, as it is not strong enough.

@Drake's Detailing Ok ..... can you recommend what I need to buy for my boat. New Pursuit.... grey hull. I'm looking to wax and polish the boat.

Nice job body ! I do have a Meguiars da polisher and plan to use a microfiber pad to wax my rv with the Flagship Meguiars wax, do you recommend me to wait 30 minutes before taking off the residu of the wax? Microfiber pad is good too? Thanks.
@DrakesDetailing Жыл бұрын
Hey! Yes the longer you wait the better. I’d say 30 minutes max

Drake, what kind of pads are you using? What do you recommend for the maxshine polisher for deoxidizing and for waxing? I’m going to order from them shortly thanks to your video!

I love running lake country pad. Their grey foam pads are the best for cutting on a DA or a forced rotaionn

Might be a dumb question but the brush you use to wash at the start, is it just a soft bristle brush?

Awesome videos! I just used Menzerna heavy cut on my boat. Do I need to wash it before I apply Power Lock? If yes, Dawn or a wash and wax? Thanks, keep them coming!
@DrakesDetailing3 жыл бұрын
Dawn is what you need before you wax. After you wax use a boat soap

I'll be washing my 31' Tiara this winter in my heated building in Northern Ohio prior to applying the sealant you use. In a wash bucket, what ratio of Dawn to water would you recommend ?
