In every online game I've ever played there were just players that got away with such things. They could say and do what they wanted and never saw more than minor punishments at most. I did see one such "mean kids" cartel crushed in an asian mmo when the the gm staff had a major shakeup and all the gm's were assigned to new realms (was years ago, might have been...rappelz maybe?).

SE actually takes harassment very seriously too like I've had to file a couple reports and I've always had responses from GMs in under 20 minutes to help. I know Blizzard doesn't take it seriously so I feel like people just assume it wouldn't matter but it really is far different in FFXIV and I really appreciate them for it.

@@cas6382 SE in my experience has not taken it seriously , A girl in my Free company was being harassed by a dude for like 4 months till the point she quit (Shes a RPer and this person kept trying to force ERP situations on her) He finally got banned tho but still we lost a member because of it . Hopefully generally there good at handling it.

I am not the author of the DKP story, but I do think I know of the guild since it is 99% of what I remember of the guild I was in around BRF era. The reason the gold could be yoinked at the time was because " Sean " asked him (a normal raider) to help clean up the guild bank and gave him officer rank to do that since most officers had left the guild at that point. He took his chance and yoinked 900k out of the guild bank and some BOE. The cap was around 1mil in wod. The rumor was that "Connor" payed around 15 mil in total in a span of around a month in guild mats and or raw gold to Sean to get him carried. Only 900k was donated to the guild bank of that however. The exact amount I dont know. But I can confirm that guild was honestly the most fucked up thing ever.

Most ofcourse do not have this evidence cause its not the thing people make when drama happens so they can send in a story to preach. You would be suprised how much shit happens in guilds.

Something I have noticed in my time playing FF14 is that there are a lot of Lalafell communities. A lot of lalafell communities that are created because "people exclude them too much" and they wanted a place where they felt welcomed. (In my experience, this is not very common at all.) They claim to be excluded, and yet there are far more "lalafell only" exclusive communities than it seems there are communities that exclude them. But not only that, it seems that many of these communities revolve around a handful of people in each, and there's a lot of bullying, oversensitivity (If you post a screenshot after one of the big names, they'll oust you. Doesn't matter if your screenshot was posted hour later.) They're drama ridden almost constantly and I cannot tell if it's because they're formed because of a perceived victim complex, or if they're just... I dunno. I really don't know how to explain what the deal might be, but it's weird how often they fall apart, and then a "new" one reforms with... pretty much all the same people. Also the recurring rumors being spread about piss watching feels like some serious projection lol

I can't really say anything regarding the Lalafel communities since I've never seen any myself, but the fact that the anti-Lalafel communities don't seem that common might be because they're not publically advertised. It seems to mostly be the ERP communities that have the strict "No Lalafels" requirement.

ey in WOD days few million gold was actually quite good. A single character could only hold 999,999 and this meant you could assure buyout on Black Market for about 954k gold. Any item imaginable, as if you put that bid, minimum increment to outbid would go over carrying cap. I managed to buy plagued proto drake this way (unobtainable mount). Garrisons were known for printing gold but even with 11 alts with fully developed treasure hunter setups it would take some time to build up 1,000,000g. I went through my old screenies and i had an addon called "accountant" which tracked income by source. My averages from missions were about 70k per week (on the entire account), the rest came from barn and selling gear upgrades made with profession daily cooldowns. And thrown some sky golems into that as well. A player that is doing just gold missions would need 15 weeks to make 1,000,000g if he had 10+ characters with fully developed setups. There's a reason why WoW token was 45k gold on EU back then. Even less on US. Players didn't had that much gold as they have today.

man, during warlords, SO MUCH GOLD was made just doing some light farming and making sure to do garrison missions every day. I remember killing things to get the reputation tokens and selling those for so much gold. And then they started the Blizz tokens, so people were using real money to buy gold in game through the AH. Wonder if that's how the warlock got all his gold to buy his spot LOL

I remember in cata on Area 52 there was this guild who was selling raid gear for gold using a DKP system. I forget the name, but they advertised on the official forums. Anyway, the system was you come in, you HAD bid on loot for your class, and the highest bid wins. Of course, it was a scam. When players bid on loot, obvious alts would bid on those items to drive up the price. The goal was to leech as much money from the "guests" as possible so they could distribute it across their guild. I know they were alts because I got a whisper when I stopped biding against a warlock for shaman gear. He claimed he was bidding for his friend and I said ok, his friend can have it (it was pants that was only a slight upgrade), and the dude got huffy about me no longer bidding. lol, my dude, I'm pretty dumb, but I'm not outright pepega. They claimed at the end of the run, the money would be split across all participants, but at the end they started kicking people who didn't bid on items when alts would because of how blatantly obvious it was they were driving up the prices. lol, if you're gonna scam, don't bring in alts of the wrong class to bid on gear they can't use. duh. So basically the idea was to bring in a bunch of people, bid with them to drive up prices, and then kick most of the players so they could keep the gold for themselves. The funny part was before I got kicked from ventrillo, they were complaining about people's reading comprehension. Like, bruh... We understood the rules, but y'all was twisting them to cheat us.

But its better to be safer than sorry, Anime communities (FF14 is a part of that) generally have a lot of creeps in them. The " its 10000 yo dragon dressed and looks like a 4 yo but its a dragon so its fine " meme is disturbingly true. So I feel a rule like that is smart to have just to avoid potential issues.
