its amazing to see how bad some of the changes of the fastest relay teams are..and its fundamentals too- stuff you learn as a kid ..like what hand and what side of the lane to run in so the incoming runner doesnt run over you.

When the British team won in London, it was like a breath of fresh air. Constantly seeing Jamaica win global titles made it boring though Usain Bolt was exciting to watch. Especially beating the Americans who were overall the faster team individually

@@yennox5338 Then why have they yielded to an island for the better part of the last 2 decades? The USA performs commensurately to their size and resources, Jamaica is heads and tails above where they should be accounting for their size and resources. Add to that the fact that the USA plays second fiddle when Jamaicans are in the lineup, I would say Jamaica is objectively and empirically the best track and field country.
@yennox5338
@yennox5338 2 жыл бұрын
@@jordanjordannis2258 Wanna talk about the last 20 years or does your history only go back that far? There has never been a time where the USA has undergone a period of drought with any of their sprinters. They always make the podium for every event and do so consistently. Size doesn't matter because countries like Canada are much larger than Great Britain yet hasn't produced as many sub 10 sprinters. When has the USA played second fiddle to Jamaica as of late? Are you just talking about the women?
@jordanjordannis2258
@jordanjordannis2258 2 жыл бұрын
@@yennox5338 I'm glad you asked, and the answer is no, my history goes back all of 74 years when Jamaica, not yet an independent nation, owned world records and was going 1-2 in the Olympics :). And I'll go ahead and disagree with you that size doesn't matter in regard to the Olympics. It's a bit disingenuous using Canada for the purpose of your example, considering that Canada is underpopulated and has just more than half the population of the UK. Not to mention I also spoke about RESOURCES, which is something the US has in abundance and Jamaica comparatively has very little of. In regard to your final point. I was speaking to the US playing second fiddle in a general sense, both male and female. The latter goes without saying, there are few metrics in which the US doesn't pale next to Jamaican women, particular on the track. And as for men, Jamaica came from the Olympics last year with an individual gold medal for the men on the track. The US came away with none. So if we look back at the caliber of success Jamaica has had measured against size, population and resources, versus the same metrics for the US, then Jamaica is the most successful and certainly the most impressive of the two.

Yes,you Usain would have caught that runner because of poor baton exchanges. Also not matching speed per leg as Jamaica. If a healthy Tyson had gotten that baton a step in from of Usain,might of been a different story. The USA didnt match them here at this meet,as was the case in the Bahamas at the world relays. Congrats to.Jamaica.
