I think you could imagine each “layer” of the background as a sheet of paper. In the “don’t” section, there’s not much depth. You could also think of the old Disney movies, (especially the beginning scenes that establish the setting) which used something called the multi-plane camera.

I am really bad at posing characters when I draw. Positioning them in natural poses is just a thing I struggle with. Any tips???
@garbageOwO6 жыл бұрын
Well, if you haven't seen Lavender's posing video already, go do that. Now, here's my advice. Draw a line of action through your characters. A line of action is a usually-curved line that goes through the figure's body. It's kind of hard to explain, but it definitely helps.
@homestuckgarbage33246 жыл бұрын
That Otaku Girl well a tip that I use is to looks up reference pics, and then this might be me but u sketch over the reference twice, once using the propositions of the photo and another refined sketch that fits the characters proportion and my style of how I draw them, idk but I definitely recommend references! Hope that this helped!
@shellbymoon10776 жыл бұрын
Google image search “drawing poses” and practice drawing characters in the poses you find there. A lot of the work is just getting used to drawing figures in more than a simple standing pose.
@HedgeHominoid6 жыл бұрын
definitely look up reference!! I like to find a few photos similar to what i want. Then i quickly sketch and/or trace them, to break down the anatomy of the pose n finally i use those sketches as reference, to draw in my own style

Of f**king course I haven't seen this till now. Usually whenever I draw backgrounds I just make it a color, lighten that color and draw a square behind the character(s), then do a border depending on the color of the background. I think it looks okay when I'm just drawing a character by itself or with another character, but it just doesn't work for a scene in my comic, or something like a stand-alone piece to tease a new comic or something like that. This helped a lot, and even though I'm 99% sure you won't see this, we appreciate everything you do to help the art community, Lavender!

I am just in love with how you explain things. Almost everything i know about art comes from you, and you make it simple and easy to understand. I think youre my favorite youtuber 😊

Here’s my background technique: 1. Use paint bucket tool on a layer below my drawing to fill the area with a color 2. That’s it lol

I hope everyone else has notice that your line art is less shaky and has become remarkably smoother

Sometimes its either elaborated background without character or the reverse. Not all the times, but it is annoying to fail so much at making a complete illustration. Dynamic characters in voids and lavish backgrounds with figures that do not match at all.

Lichen is the gray:green stuff on rocks and tree bark that sticks directly to it and you can pick it off like nail polish. What you're drawing is Spanish moss. A beautiful drawing overall though!

I'm really bad at thumbnailing. I either can't think of anything, or I have an idea I really like and can't help but try and squeeze a bunch of detail into my tiny sketch, and just focus on the one thumbnail. And when I have an idea, but I can't think of all the details, I just don't even bother. My design teacher hated me so much for it ;)
