Honestly, 'Crazy Slots' really is one of my favorite powers. HunterxHunter is so freaking cool. Their ability to make their NEN OP by putting a condition on it is well done. I like to think that Kite came up with Crazy Slots as a way to amplify his power when he was young and stupid, because he got caught up in the idea of how cool it would be to luck into exactly the weapon he needed. There is actually one singular instance where Kite uses Crazy Slots and chooses the weapon he wants. When Pitou comes into the scene he's in and *immediately* chops his arm off, he uses the ability and we get a specific second of silence to show that Kite didn't complain about the weapon he got, which leads us to believe he purposefully chose his strongest weapon to fight Pitou.

The older ones dont get referenced as much, nor does youtube recomend them often. But the core episodes, speeddraws and streams are almost all linked together.

to be fair, I think TMA season 1 is a lot less rough than many other podcasts I've given a try. Any D and D podcast, for example, has a really ROUGH first episode: extra long, bad audio quality, rambly. Like, yes, the audio quality is kind of flat for TMA for the first season or so, but the quality of the writing and horror is the same all the way through. I personally skipped around based on how spooked I was by the stories. Some of them just weren't my thing because I found them not spooky or interesting at all, but I only figured that out by trying the episodes out.

i'll be honest when i heard that julia started the magnus archives not at episode one i was distraught cause it's hard enough to keep up with everything even when you have started from the beginning

same here. but also because... no matter how episodic you THINK it sounds at the beginning, it eventually becomes a linear story. which i guess is also true of the anime they talk about in this video. so if you are already okay with watching a random arc in the middle of a show, then starting with a random tma episode probably doesnt feel any different to you but i personally could never do that. i HAVE to start at the beginning every time no matter how long the show is or how rough the first few seasons are

@@KTr0ck nah, When I Relisten I've begun to skip the first two episodes. Episode 3 I cannot skip as 'Across the street' is the episode that made me love TMA. Though I'm personally concerned how much Julia skipped, because 1 is not all that important, but like half of the first 10 episodes are both vital and awesome. Like 'A father's love', wich isn't in any way rough and a brilliant episode, one of the best even.

Yes, in that section I was having to tell myself "it's ok for people to have different opinions! Taste is subjective! There's no reason to be upset about this!" Seriously though, I'm glad Julia found a way to get into Magnus even if it didn't immediately grab her. At the end of the day taste really is subjective, we don't all have to enjoy a piece of art in the same way, as long as we're having fun.

I'm actually reading a manga right now where one of the big bad guys has the power to use the abilities of animals he's hunted (some of which are magical) but only if he turns their pelts into zip up hoodies, the powers activate when he fully zips up one of his hoodies over his face, he can only use the powers of one jacket at the time however he wears them all at the same time in layers so he can quick swap powers mid fight and also to protect the innermost hoodies because until they're activated they are just regular dead pelts. For anyone interested it's called "Reincarnation Of The Veteran Soldier" there's a lot of really cool and creative powers in there and at the moment the main characters have opened a fried chicken joint while muscling in on the turf of several magical mafias.

This episode made me realize how glad I am that they play a sound effect when they flash an image on screen. When I watch Drawfee I usually have it on while doing something else and I'm only actually looking at it like 5% of the time, so I really rely on that audio cue to tell me that something is there to see
