I'm a big fan of Adam's Chunky-baras. They all turned out to beautifully. I love them all. Also, the name of the sketchbook is the German word for "Lighthouse". We say the words "Leucht" and "Turm" with a short pause in between.

If you gesso the page first it helps keep the posca nibs from tearing the paper up. But Bristol is definitely the best. I love what you did. They're so cute!! Bob's Burgers had a capybara in one of their earlier episodes with the cruise ship. (If you're ever looking for a good cartoon reference.) Y'all did amazing.

Oo good suggestion, I wonder if transparent watercolor ground, would work similarly ( I don’t have gesso at the moment ) hmm I’ll have to give it a try, because I don’t use my posca pens as much as I should because the painty paper crumbs makes steam come out of my ears

There's this factory near my house that has a huge green space in front of it and they used to have a family of capybaras living there! We suspect there's also a family leaving in the woods near it! I would love to see one in nature!

From my experience, thicker paper (like mixed media + hot pressed watercolour paper) tends to fare better with Poscas. The cabys still look super cute tho!

Lovely video and so pleasant to view! You guys create some of the best wholesome content available on KZbin and your art is so inspiring too! I believe Posca pens were originally created for painting on windows doing window displays and all that sort of thing. So the more firm your surface the better! They work better as they glide across whatever you’re painting on glass, wood, shiny Bristol board, smooth watercolor paper, hot pressed paper made from cotton not wood fibers and then you will avoid pilling! I can attest that hot press watercolour paper and bristol board are great papers for posca pens. They are thick enough to hold up to the nibs, though I like to blend with water, so I usually use hot press watercolour paper.

My guess is that Posca pens would work best on super-smooth thicc printer paper? (or similar). At least I find that my "promarkers" (different medium) work best on that. No texture to mess up the nib and it goes on really smooth without ripping the paper too fast.

I love the color combinations you both chose! The styles you did are so adorable minimalistic. I drew bonobos named Bobo playing the oboe and bongos while sunbathing on the beach. I love the idea of animals wearing clothes doing human things. Its my first time actually doing it and I really enjoyed it. So did my dad, whose idea it was. That's why they're called capybaras - they live on the sea caps!😆

I love it when Adam dose more stylised things they would be so cute as stickers. I was wondering the connection between pastel Posca pens and the Capybaras, cause normally we would always get an alliteration in the video, possums would have fit the brand much better in that sense. Love the Capybaras thou. And I do not think that Creston looks like a Possum. And yes I am cringing at how you pronounce Leuchtturm (L-oi-cht-tur-m) I might have to teach you one day. Drawing on wood or maybe trying the Rendr sketchbook might work well with the Poscas

This was fun! Steph, give the seawhite of Brighton watercolour sketchbook a try with the poscas! I use mine in it and they work beautifully. They don’t cost very much to buy ether. But make sure it’s a watercolour one and not the cartridge paper one x 🧡🎉

Apparently if you get art boards and paint a layer of matte acrylic on it should help reduce the pilling. Other than that, I have found if you do a flat layer first on good thick paper if you have any, avoiding going over the same part twice, let it dry then you can layer on top with less pilling too.

POSCA ALL THE ANIMULS! I want posca ball pythons ♡. We recently got a Blue Eyed Lucy (Leucistic) and we love him so much! He's all white with bright blue eyes so my son (who actually bought the snake... and they're not cheap) named him Sans. If I ever get another Blue Eyed Lucy boy, I'm naming him Gojo ♡♡♡♡. Anyway, I would love a whole series of posca animals. If you guys got canvas paper/boards the Poscas would work beautifully!

Canson - The Wall, works well with acrylic markers and alcohol markers. No bleed or ghosting or pilling. 9/10 recommend. Ink from dip pens and fountain pens has feathered, minor inconvenience but still not ideal 👌🏻

I was looking through the wishlist and I'd love to see pastel possums! It would be cool to maybe do it with one of the paint marker sets that you say would be cool to compare to posca, but I'd definitely want you guys to have good paper for it so if there is any way to let me know a good paper for it that I'd be able to get for you guys, or if you find one to put it the wishlist and let me know, I'd really love to try and help you guys out. Orcas and other dolphins are very easy to draw! Curved tear drop add mouth eye and markings = done. Also snails, robins, baby fish, butterflies and worms are easy. I think there are several easy to draw animals personally. If you want more accuracy study the anatomy, behaviour and shapes. Think also about the 3D space it would be in. Focus on the proportions and shapes most. Use the knowledge you have of the animal to help. Also always look at multiple references as you brain remembers things as inaccurate symbols and often makes major errors on anatomy, proportion, perspective and other details. As most lack a perfect memory please use references everyone! Even if making things cartoony and stylized. Better not to guess and rely on imperfect memory. Still practicing from imagination and feel free to change reality for the sake of a style as you desire as well. I just want to encourage everyone to use reference.

I love these colors for animals! It reminds of bright and colorful cartoons I used to watch in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s, like Bluffers and Ovide. (I just tooooooootalky dated myself, lolololol.
