Hi GoldieLoqs, maybe I have a tip for you :) When you are working on shading or anything like that, try to draw your shading in layers. Just keep adding layers with not to much pressure on your pencil and eventually you will get darker tones etc. Like for example a shadow on skin, I first fill it with my 2H pencil in a few layers and then I add a layer with my 3B pencil. I hope this will help you.

I enjoy all of your videos. I really like learning new techniques with your lessons. I am recovering from several strokes and have not drawn lately. Your videos help motivate me to draw. Thanks.

That's a good thing to keep in mind. I have a tendency to hold very close to the tip of the pencil, so I'll remember this next time I attempt at shading. The only problem is that you have less accuracy when holding farther up on the pencil, but that's not always a big deal when shading.

This is a very helpful tip, as I've had the same problem. I have often found myself shading it in too dark, which gets quite frustrating after a few tries. Anyways, thanks for uploading this video!! I've only been drawing shorthaired things lately to avoid the fur, as I've not much experience with it, but after seeing this I'm determined to practice and hopefully improve. P.S: Your drawing is beautiful, you're very talented!!

Very nicely done! It's also funny how you use a sheet of paper to protect your lines. I do so, too, but my arts teacher always wanted us to hover our hands above the paper, which was a total pain x3 It's nice to see that even professionals don't use this "technique".

@Koakoa4511 жыл бұрын
Think in negatives. You actually draw dark in the shadows and leave the rest light.Some people do go back with erasers and remove the dark to make lines also. But... put in your shadows, then darken areas "between" the fur. Basically think and draw in negative :D

on a side note, unless your going for barely at all on the paper, (ima use a pencil) hold the pencil closer to the back, the farther away the less pressure. but sometimes you need extremely light pressure, this isnt good for that :/

Hm, ok, now that is just amazing. So you basically draw every strand of hair. Wow... But how do you keep the highlighted or lighter stands NOT white? Those pieces would still be shaded a little bit, correct? To keep the hairs away from being absolutely white, (though part of the contrast)? For example, the hairs of the farthest away ear... When I try to shade the fur, the individual hairs are blended together...
