the story about her is: it's Persephone, that is falling into underworld, but she didn't realise it yet and she's so done with the fayries, that would explain that expression. and you can see like her eyes will wide any second, her arms will reach out to her friends but it's too late. and downthere is Hades looking at the clock thinking "she's falling little too long"... i love your art waffles!!!

I was bothered by shadows when I first started as well!! Glad I’m not the only one hahaa. As far as acrylics go it’s best to work from less detailed to more detailed, and I honestly don’t even bother doing any detailed sketches at first! Also i find that it helps to use thicker paint so you don’t get the paint “smearing” into each other! If you want a thinner more smooth look, try to start with a really thin layer of the base fill AND shadow and highlight, instead of just the base fill, if that makes sense? You can also use a hair dryer to speed up the drying process. I haven’t finished the video yet but I can already see you figuring them out more and it’s coming together!! I have been super excited to see how you work with these since I got the box! When you were talking about pushing through I always call it the awkward teenage phase, where it’s all weird and strange but you just have to keep growing it hahaha

@anartisticgamer2678
@anartisticgamer2678 5 жыл бұрын
Heya Waffles! So currently in my art class I’m painting with acrylics. I got some tips for ya (if you plan on doing doing this again)! 1.) When acrylics dry, you can’t blend them. If you plan on blending two colors, make sure you blend them while they’re still wet 2.) acrylics actually paint on smoother if you use a tad bit of water. Just a little! 3.) when blending big areas, use a round applying brush and a big flat brush. Apply the two colors with the applying brush with a small gap in the middle, then use the blending brush to blend them together. 4.) make sure to use more stiffer or firmer brushes for acrylic. Since it’s so much more thicker than watercolor, soft brushes don’t work well with acrylic. 5.) although it seems satisfying and fun, acrylics aren’t much for blending. Yes it’s incredibly easy and fun to do, but use acrylics more for slightly harsher lines. Watercolors and acrylics are SO different so I hope this helped you. Also it looks amazing!

Hey Waffles! I really loved the sketch you did. Here's a bit of advice for future painting endeavors. When doing more realistic shading, you're generally going to not want to paint the eyes a pure white. Remember that the eyes are 3D objects, so they will have their own shading. This means they'll generally be a similar value to what's around them, maybe a bit lighter. This will help them look like they're not glowing. The other thing to keep in mind, is that reflective colors show pretty strongly in whites. They'll often be the color of what's around them, or the color of the lighting. So if you have a character in a very blue environment, like under a big blue sky in an open field, the eye whites would be more blue. I suggest looking at some portrait photos and actually eyedropping the colors around the white and see where they land in your color picker. :) Hope you find this helpful

mine would be watercolor As on a island I would always have water but acrylic would 1. tubes would be faster emptied cause they dry faster with hot climates I think and watercolor tines as bog as the acrylics last you entire life.Watercolor could be ised and washed with the seawater.You can paint with the salty water also! No need for canvas Would be hard after everything you could paint on is used....

You can add water to acrylics to make it more smoth and less goopy, and if you add it over the dried paint with a lot of water you can give some little tones and highlights and shadows. But of course as it is a canvas it will take time to dry. For anyone who is starting with the medium.

I enjoyed your video but If I can i'll give you some advices I'm an art student and I've bene using acrilics a lot: You should use water, you could blend better the colors together and also add undertones with a more sheer color, also the shadows have to be sheerer than the lights, cause you have to remember than in light the things should kinda come to you and the parts in shadow should go more onto the background You should place the higher lights first, and the shadows next Painting the backroung first was a great idea, cause then you can see the colors better Also I suggest you to use a lot of colors like burnt and raw Umber and burnt and raw Sienna to give colors more realism Hope than I've bene helpful and can't wait to see more video of you using acrilics ;)

@valasafantastic1055

Wet the paintbrush and remove excess water so that it is damp before picking up paint. Unless doing some brush damaging dry brush techniques. Do not reuse this plate for food ever. It’s fine to mix paint with the brush bristles. There is a retarding or slow dry acrylic medium people can buy to make any acrylic paint into slow dry paint. These look great high quality, pigmented and not all super shiny. I had a very bad experience with some ‘professional’ grade acrylic tubes by Brea Reese that are the shineyist most plastic paints on the planet. I used matte medium and it barely helped! Then I used my Stuart Stemple Super Base; The Mattest Matte medium,.. and they were still the shineyist.... uhhh. Back to my other brands. Also please stop calling acrylic paint ink. I often prefer paper over canvas as well as the fact that most canvas has annoying texture I very much dislike. This canvas texture often makes it harder to get smooth and realistic effects at least to me. And the absorbency if the paper feels comfortable and seems to work better to me as well. Unless you want a unifying colour theme behind paint around your sketch. Or use a (non slow dry) white to paint over a buffering layer between the background colour and let it completely dry before painting over. If doing a background or underbase use faster drying Acrylics if possible. Let areas completely dry for places that need to dry and keep painting if you want the blending effects don’t be impatient or it will mess the art up. I advise watching a few acrylic painting tutorials rather than just guessing and diving in. Diving in with a bit of prep rather than none just saying. Also make sure to carefully wash the brushes with mild dish soap and cold water. Warm and hot water can mess up most paintbrushes as well as leaving the paint in will destroy brushes when using acrylic. I would consider getting these paints but as I have many a acrylics and a little jar of the slow dry medium I may just try the medium first! I think digital painting and acrylic defiantly have skill overlap! Slow dry would be best mixed with faster drying for different parts.... hmmm makes me think about what I should do! This video makes me want to paint so I think... SUCCESS! Fun video keep up the great content!
