I began my health journey, and what a journey, in Jan. 2023 by just walking a 15 mins per day. I am 60 year old black female, obese, pre-diabetic with high blood pressure. I’m slowly incorporating healthy choices. I now walk 2 miles a day. A month ago I began intermittent fasting, I eat at 11am and 6:30pm, no snacks. Before I grazed all day from 10am-midnight, I CONSTANTLY craved ice cream, cake, and pizza. The 1st thing I noticed with fasting is that I wasn’t hungry?! My meals now are usually eggs and bacon (w/o nitrates) or a veggie smoothie in the morning and a huge salad with chicken in the evening. Well, NOW I’m ready for the next step. Eliminating meat! We’ll see. Thank you so much for your content, keep posting. I keep learning new things from you that help on my journey, which is why I now want to eliminate meat. My rings can fit on my fingers again and my blood pressure has gone down (it was normally 170/90). I’m excited to keep going and see how much I can heal myself.

That’s great! I’m 63 and starting my better health journey. I’ve done intermittent fasting with great results. I know people who ate only fruits and vegetables for 30 days and they all said they felt amazing. Good luck to you sis

I did a 3 day water only fast under the supervision of my nutritionist when I started my vegan lifestyle. Day one was a challenge. Day 2 I had a constant headache. He is absolutely correct about getting rid of aged waste lol. Day 3 I had so much of what I can only describe as pure energy. I felt like my eyes were clearer and my thoughts were more focused and productive.

Ketones! By day three the liver should be pumping out ketones. Much sooner after you have adapted by fasting. With frequent fasting, I've found that the hungry phase (the ghrelin hormone) is much reduced, or usually never even happens, and I go into ketosis much quicker. I find that ketones are great fuel for less intense exercise like walking, yoga, or swimming with the flow, but works less well for more intense exercise like weight training or sprints. I get more winded exercising during a fast. Perhaps the available glycogen in my muscles is reduced during fasting, even though I know that my blood glucose is normal. For that reason I reduce the intensity, but not the frequency, of exercise while fasting. The thing with water is the more of it you drink, the quicker salts will be washed out of your body. The process of keytosis can also deplete salts. For many people, me included, managing electrolytes (salts) is essential during a fast. I drink salty water while fasting with sodium chloride and potasium chloride in about a 3 :1 ratio, and I take a daily magnesium supplement starting several days before the fast. Electrolyte management increases in importantance the longer one fasts.

Between January 1-10 of 2008, I did an absolute fast (no food no water for 10 days) for spiritual reasons. The last 2 1/2 days were brutal, but I completed it successfully (I needed answers for my life up to that point). Afterwards my mind was amazingly clear and sharp. Spiritually I was able to accurately discern the characters of those who were around me. Lastly, I drop about 35-40 lbs.

I am about to start the Whole30 diet plan again. You eat a whole foods based diet with no sugar, carbs, dairy, etc. Just amazing fresh food. It's a lot of planning and work, but the benefits show after just 30 days. On average every time I do this, the scale is 10lbs lighter and I feel better. At the end of the first week, your body is screaming at you for sugar and carbs. You read labels more and realize sugar and soy is in everything. I've switched a great number of products I use to Whole30 compliant products, like Coconut Aminos and Avocado based mayonnaise. I think after watching your videos, I'm going to change for good. For fasting, that was always the rule my mother had. No more food after 8pm at night. It does work!

Another great video! I am planning to water fast once a week. What water brands would you recommend? I have an AquaTru 4-Stage Purification system.
