U need to do your own research on this subject. U need to get through all the fake news, debunkers with no education, you have to check FOI records, old CIA documents and understand who is telling the truth and who is part of the deep state that just want to brainwash civilians. Mankind’s history is far more in-depth than what we have been told. There was a civilization here that was more advanced than us that are no longer here. If you study Graham Hancock or Randy Carlson along with many more people then you’ll start to get the idea of what was here before us. Good luck in your endeavours. There are other forms of consciousness already here and have been for thousands of years. ALL “debunkers” (who are not skeptics), just lightly skim over topics but still firm opinions which is very easy to pick apart. Most skeptics like Eric have great questions. We really need to move past this and start contacting the other entities. Figure out the W-5’s.

As a nurse of 25+ years, on the short side of completing a NP degree, I feel the same way; except I am so repulsed by what I’ve witnessed with Covid, and then/now with this vaccine. I have lost all faith in medicine. In fact, I hear and see more integrity, values, and ethics from Ph.D’s. MD’s/medical community appear to be cowing down to threat’s instead of upholding our oath to “do no harm”. As a female, I did not grow up thinking about being drafted/having to fight in a war to protect my country, it’s values, humanity-but with every passing day, I welcome and frankly, am ready-it’s long past due; that.we the people unite and revolt every facet of this agenda being shoved down our education, healthcare, agriculture; everything seemingly reliant upon the government as a primary revenue source-the trend I keep circling back to is national gov’t involvement.

The zoom function on the FLIR pod is NOT like a normal camera! At no point does the POD lose track of the object when zooming x2. This is a misconception by Shermer and Mick who know little about how these systems work. Speak to fighter pilots or technicians who work with them. Alternatively, load up DCS World Sim and fly the F/A 18 Hornet and learn to use the FLIR pod.

you have never used a FLIR pod , dont act like an expert on them . Saying load up a retail product simulator and use one on there is a really bad argument. @@gingerbill128 Eh, Fighter pilots use DCS World for training. Some air forces use it, included the US. And plenty of former fighter pilots on KZbin can attest to its usefulness for procedural and systems training. Two fighter pilots: "This is way better than the sims we use in the Navy": kzbin.info/www/bejne/rZLIaoywhr19d7M Again, you do some KZbin searchers and Google searchers and you'll find fighter pilots comment on how good DCS World is. Yes, it's not perfect. Yes there are some features that are classified. But generally operating these systems is quite accurate. And yes I do use the FLIR pod in the F/A-18 and use VR to fly in DCS Sim. Go and look at my channel. Thanks.

Shermer's hypothetico-deductive inference ("if military pilots are seeing UAP everyday, then everyone else should be seeing them just as frequently.") is problematic. As a skeptic I'm getting really tired of the 'cameras wre everywhere but why are the images always blurry' argument. Have you ever tried to snap a picture of the moon with your phone? It usually comes out to be a low resolution blurry mess. The moon subtends about 0.5° in the sky, and it is still a few orders of magnitude larger of what these supposed UAPs are said to be. Just because there are cameras everywhere doesn't mean the resolution or capture quality is very high. Sure, phones are everywhere, but how many people do you see with a Nikon P1000 in their pocket?

I know right? How the discussion came off to me was of 2 people who are trying to make the facts fit their conclusions and thus limiting any serious consideration and immediate dismissal of glaring other facts. Smugly ignoring countless credible testimonies and falling back on “Occams Razor” like its some how a law of nature. If Occam’s razor was a law and determined the progression/direction of scientists, then we would have stopped with Newton and everyone would have dismissed/ignored Einstein the way keiting and shurmer do to anyone who makes any claims about UFO’s. Eric is making a good faith appeal to a scientific approach to the topic when a lot of the data is fuzzy and you can see how defensive they get and the gymnastics they’re doing to not address the fundamental question Eric’s asking. One example being, what does the incompetence of the pentagon have to do with the evidence that UFO’s are real? Or what does it matter the motives behind the writers of the NYTimes column have to do with the facts behind the events? It’s like Eric is playing checkers and they are playing pick up sticks.

Shermer, like many people, points to cellphone cameras. If you have ever tried to take a video, zoomed in, of a distant object you will find they are all blurry and of poor quality. These cameras aren't not made for such things. They are made to take photos and video at relatively close distances
@Edbrad
@Edbrad 2 ай бұрын
Especially at night or lower light, if that’s the situation. I’ve seen normal stuff and tried to photograph it and it can basically vanish and it loses like 95% of its detail. This is one of the reasons we had better UFO photos before digital cameras, because digital cameras are far lower resolution than analogue cameras and are only good at the distance they’re made to be good at. The zoom isn’t real, it’s faked, it’s just increasing the size of the pixels. Then you have some algorithmic stuff in phone cameras where it starts adding pixels to try and make it look better but at the smallest detail it’s not accurate anymore and even more wonky

As long as scientists are locked into a single criteria for evidence to discern facts or possible hypotheses, they’ll always end up having this blind spot about investigating the UAP phenomena. Sometimes, scientists should be curious enough to seek out data as opposed to always sitting back asking for it. This is the difference between Avi Loeb and the scientists that the likes of Schermer represents.

DATA doesn’t guide curiosity when an event, albeit uncontrollable, but repeated independently from scientific control. Anyone who was even moderately curious and willing to do some digging is *not* surprised by the reality of "the phenomenon" bubbling up into visibility (and therefore finally becoming fair game for serious discourse in polite, serious company). I say this as a critical thinking fan, career physical chemist and at least moderately well-established research scientist. I admire Dr. Weinstein's logic and openness here. With a bit more reading, perhaps some of J. Vallee's books, perhaps field notes from NIDS, he will soon be within range of getting all the corners of the sheet to fit. At that point, I think the field will benefit greatly from the clarity of his voice (unless he completely loses patience with the ufo community...for which i would not blame him).

Good point, J. Curtis. But the UFO community is hardly a community at all. If they were a community, they’d probably have moved this issue forward a couple decades ago. I’m on their side, though. There do seem to be other intelligences of some sort in our midst. It’s more than just speculative. And it’s not about belief. We really ought to look at this with both eyes, and stop whistling in the dark.

J. Curtis, it's a pity that Eric Weinstein only started very recently to acknowledge certain phenomenons and observations. Oh, well - better late than never. Unlike most professional hyper-sceptics he is willing to change his mind! And yes, he definitely should have a long conversation with Jacques Vallee, who has a great mind and who is by no means uncritical. Many UFO believers are not aware that Vallee changed his mind about the extraterrestrial origins of certain phenomenons many decades ago. And he also acknowledges that we should not underestimate that many governments engage in clandestine disinformation campaigns. Yes, Eric Weinstein should definitely consult Jacques Vallee!

Dr Keating, your show is full of deeply interesting conversations by unique and brilliant guests....in fact, your show is so good that you almost (not quite, but almost) have a moral obligation to make sure the audio and visual quality of each show is top-notch. This was the first time I left your show without watching to completion, because the volume differential between you and your guests was too extreme. I'm sure you will fix this. Please fix this. Your show is fantastic and shouldn't lose views due to an overlooked production technicality. Also, look into the camera. Engage your audience instead of looking at the keyboard or off to the side of the screen. Notice Eric and Michael's rapt attention to the conversation. No looking away, or daydreaming, or monitoring something else. Take this as constructive criticism that is being offered ONLY because I love your show and want to watch it grow. Cheers!

20:40 WHAT are you TALKING about? We HAVE those photos, from commercial airlines, from passengers, from people at the beach. But you're dismissing all of it because it comes from unverifiable sources..... You're on one hand asking "why dont we have thousands of photos of UFO's", but then when you actually HAVE thousands of photos of UFO's, you dismiss them because its not taken with scientific equipment.... Am i the only one in the world who sees how insane that statement is? Has the world lost their minds? How can someone even say something self-contradictory like that.... I just, have no words to describe my flabbergasted look right now upon hearing this.. As for "why are they all blurry photos". Shermer, just for me, do an experiment right now. Take your iPhone 10, go out to your porch at 10pm. Aim your iPhone camera at the full moon, and take a photo. The full moon ougth to be larger than most reported UFO sightings, or of the same apparent size in the sky. Now do the same while inside a car in motion, but through the driver's windshield. I guarantee you that your photos will be blurry pieces of trash as well. Modern phone cameras are high resolution in full sunlight. Not in low-light conditions, and especially not of moving distant objects in the sky. How does a human being in 2021 not know this from sheer experience? Does this mean the moon isnt verifiable, or that your photos aren't evidence of the moon existing? This insane double-standard is just blowing my brains out in sheer shock at the ignorance of people in our modern world who are supposed to stand for science.... When will we grow up and become adults? I just can't watch anymore of this. No shermer, not because i feel threathened, because i dont hang my world-view based on belief, i base it on logic. But because i simply cannot stop myself from tearing my hair out at the dumbest comments ive ever heard in my life, i dont watch Fox news for the same reason, but i never thought a podcast with Eric Weinstein would have the same effect.

We dont what they saw. All we know is what they think they saw. If you've ever seen the Braingames series on National Geographic Channel, it becomes very clear to you how your own mind can cause you to see things that are not there, or see things the incorrect way, with naturally occurring optical illusions. Something that was 2 inches long might have been misinterpreted as "40 feet" long, due to the lack of perspective when flying over the featureless open ocean . I've done plenty of mushrooms and acid, so I know what it's like to experience illusions, and sometimes full blown hallucinations, depending on the lighting in a room. So I'm not wildly impressed by two people saying that they briefly saw something weird while they were flying in jets at 700 miles per hour over the sea. Even if we assume that they DID in fact see something real, then what they saw was most likely a hologram or some other form of classified technology being tested on the two pilots by the naval high command. Finally, there is always the possibility that the story is simply fabricated, and that the two pilots are Naval intelligence officers, and are part of a propaganda effort against the American public by the u.s. government. Aliens travelling across the galaxy to troll navy pilots for a few seconds is about a one in a trillion chance. There are thousands of more likely explanations. 500 years ago, people used to see "angels" and jesus everywhere. And ghosts and spirits. aliens are the modern version of those sightings

You have to toss in the buzz word quantum before I guess questioning other peoples intelligence......I love when that happens

@@trimbotee4653 There were definite problems with volume. Michael and Eric were loud and Brian was too quiet. This has been a recurring issue with the podcast, but I can overlook it in light of the quality of these episodes. I'm sure Brian has a lot on his plate, what with figuring out the secrets of the universe and all. :D

A tiny bit of honest coverage from the media now qualifies as "being forced" on people lol. Well, if you're dogmatically committed to a specific narrative it must feel like the truth is being "forced" on you. Still, fun chat as always, Dr. Keating. Huge fan of Dr. Weinstein's in particular.

How can they complain about blurry images when these are not video images but radar images, none of their arguments make sense because they obviously haven’t looked into this enough, Shumer admitting not knowing what the numbers on the screen mean, you would think they would at least give themselves a cursory education on the tech used to capture these images. This was a total waste of everyone time.

@@gabriellucero3540 do you find it interesting how UFO's are such an American thing? People claim to see them all over the world but it's very heavily focused in America . America does see itself as the centre of the universe . Most other countries dont assume UFO's would obviously go to there country as why go anywhere else but the most important country in the world. I genuinely dont mean that as an insult i just cant say it any nicer :) and i think its worth thinking about when deciding about UFO's . I am undecided on the matter but i need some proof before i will believe it.

1:11:40 EXACTLY Why do they keep talking about Mick West Mick West Mick West Mick West Mick West ? That is 1 human being on a planet of 8 billion. He's no more or less able to find logic and truth in any subject than anyone else. Why are we not talking about what Bob Lazar says, or what Stephen Greer says, or what Giorgio Tsukalos says (LOL please no...)? I'm just playing devils advocate, but dont you guys get it? You're focusing on ONE person to provide the truth, of which that single individual person cant possibly provide universal truth on a subject WORLD SPANNING beyond their individual scope and knowledge base... You're not talking to chinese ufologists (or sceptics). You're not talking to the russians. You're not talking to the africans. You're not talking to the south american experts. This is a WORLD spanning mystery, its not just solvable by a single US sceptic on twitter. Stop thinking that 1 guy out of 8 billion has the answer. That's just as illogical as thinking David Wilcock is messiah. What Mick West says has zero impact on what the real state of the universe beyond is. He doesnt magically eliminate the existance of ET civilizations because he tweets something about Fravor's story. Why are you nonstop talking about these individual people, but not any others on the other side? Just boggles the mind, you're not even seeing your own bias in the topic.

In 1992, in broad daylight, an aluminum looking disc shaped UFO with a red bulge at center hovered over the WH Sammis powerplant for 15 minutes. The Empire cop took a Polaroid of it. When we asked him what happened to it a week later, he was told to give it up. It hovered right over the plant and was even with the valley top on the west bank of the Ohio river. Then it zipped to the east in about a second it was gone. Twenty people saw it.

@@whirled_peas sure. But it did. The Empire (Empire Stratton) cop took out his traffic accident polaroid camera and took a crappy (far away looking) picture of it just before it left. I'd love to know what happened to it. I've been alone in remote areas all over North America my entire 58 years. I've never seen anything. If this were a made up story, it would have been not over a powerplant, and probably somebody would say they got abducted or something. UFO's been known to hover near power plants. I swear this did happen.

Skip to the end, click replay, it's my default action on KZbin, and it usually works, and I won't begrudge two ads as I'm doing that, two is fine, constant interruptions are slightly annoying.
