I've been chowing on a high-healthy-fat diet for about 2 years, VERY low carb like 5-10% of calories, 70-75% fat, 20-25% protein, and my inflammation level has plummeted to the point of ending my 15 years of plantar fasciitis in only 3 weeks off carbs, also reducing my hands & neck arthritis 90-95% that started in my mid-30s. I'm 50 & thought I was just stuck with the pain. My daily kidney & chest pain stopped, some weird female pain stopped that I was very worried about for a couple years but didn't go yet to get it checked out bcz I was afraid of what they would say, tooth pains stopped, and I have more spine mobility. Its so wonderful to have so much less chronic inflammation that I thought I was stuck with as I age. Almost no carbs in my diet now from a VERY high amount before (see USDA Food Pyramid), and now a very high healthy fats amount every day. It's almost like the opposite of what most doctors say, but my health is a LOT better so I'm totally a believer in the true KETO/LCHF & IF way of life. I'll never go back to the USDA Food Pyramid. I'd have to go on Diabetes meds & insulin injections & kidney dialysis & gall bladder surgery etc if I did. Even my night driving vision is better than 20+ years ago! I recently went stricter on the KETO eating & don't need my reading glasses anymore! That was an unexpected discovery that I kept forgetting to use them. Before I just had to. I avoid bad fats, embrace healthy fats like grass fed butter, cream, olive oil, coconut oil, nuts, avocado, cheese, higher quality bacon, salmon, sardines, our chickens' free range eggs, etc. I hadn't realized before how many healthy fats there are to enjoy. I now make our own butter & yogurt from actually seriously fresh whole cow milk. Fat is fun! Carbs kill.

Nice illustration of excess of omega 6 is sunburn when taking too much sun at the beginning of the season. Sunburn is an inflammatory response to omega 6 oxidation under UV light. Have been on carnivore lifestyle for three years. I eat grass fed beef, liver butter and tallow. They all have lower omega 6 to omega 3 ratios. Also salmon, cod liver. Since I am a septuagenarian, joint pain used to be an issue for me. Not anymore. And also couldn’t care less for suntan oil.

I was watching a lecture not long ago where some Italian researchers were saying that after studying olive oil for a very long time they're not sure that it is the best oil to be taking/using. "In other words" the scientist said, we don't think it's as healthy for you as history or folk lore might suggest. It was very interesting to hear him say that.
@happystoat993 жыл бұрын
@@wally6193 I think it may have been related to the recent scandal in Italy : they discovered many brands (especially from the South of Italy where the mafia is influential) was "cut" with about 50% of canola oil or similar cheap crap, and even the experts were unable to distinguish by taste, when in fact the composition was quite different, but it could be detected only in laboratories. If not I would appreciate a link to the study It is interesting that olive oil is close in composition to duck and goose fats, not to vegetable oils : it's mostly monounsaturated fat, like what you'd find in mackerels, sardines, anchovies, duck, goose, etc. So I think it would make sense for it to be healthy :) (as long as it is not half full of some seed oil to save on costs)

Great video!! The only thing Dr Seuss didn't mention is for the Carnivore WOE, lard, beef tallow, and bacon fat is better than olive oil or coconut oil.

Somehow reminded of the ayurvedic set of procedures called pañca-karma (five actions): one of first ones seems to be taking quite a lot of ghee (Sanskrit: ghRta, ~ghrita, clarified butter). What gives?

What do you think about carnivore diet? Are plants actually bad for us? What about sitosterolemia causing inflexible platelets? Plant fats accumulation? It will make a very interesting conversation to watch a discussion between you and Dr. Anthony Chaffe or Dr. Ken Berry.

PUFAS are an essential building material, primarily if you happen to freeze solid in winter. Because you are a plant. Are you a plant? No? Then stick with saturated fats from animal sources.

Fish oil- I have read that most is rancid by the time we buy it. Is fish oil truly helpful in bottle or capsule form?
@JYAN28523 жыл бұрын
Animal fats come with monounsaturated fats in the proper ratios with saturated and PUFA. Olive and avocado oils are optional. Most are adulterated and rancid best to eat the olive and avocado fruits whole

Arnt lipids the main ingredient of cell walls? There are 3 foods. Proteins, carbohydrates and fat. Fat is essential for a healthy body.

Not only seed oils but BE VERY VERY VERY CAREFULL WITH NUTS as well. The first time i started to have truly bad symptoms of Rheumatoid Arthritis was some time after I replaced my unhealthy snacks with nuts (mostly walnuts because they were cheapest) ... with lots and lots of nuts ... I am very lucky I figured it out and when I finally got a rheumatologist appointment he diagnosed me with rheumatoid arthritis with no symptoms whatsoever :) (based on RA markers in a blood test). It was really like magic. Especially the first few times I skipped snacking on nuts. Instead of waking up in pain in 3/4 of my body and with numb hands and crazy spasms I woke up feeling much more normal and improved rapidly :)

So glad you said this! I have RA too and am SO much better without walnuts and almonds and coconut flour. Less obvious flare triggers than gluten and dairy, but still.
