Pulsed radio frequency fixes this condition. Drs and neurosurgeons know this and won’t admit to its effectiveness in reducing and curing pain. Pulsed radiofrequency rather than continuous as pulsed prevents nerve destruction at temp of 42 degrees.

For the parent of the child, my heart goes out to you both. Yes, children can get it though it isn’t as common as in someone over 40 say. She needs to be properly diagnosed by a neurologist, other things can cause facial pain and you want her on the right treatment. It took an MRA ,like an MRI but focuses on blood vessels, for me to get a definitive answer. Bless you both.

Hi, I first experienced it in 2003, I was 30, I had been in a really bad accident a year before, serious back and abdominal injuries (still suffer from those today) then 10 months later was hit head on again! At some point I noticed a pain in my jaw, felt like a toothache, but it would come and go. Over days and weeks it got worse and worse. I explained it to my fam doc cause I couldn't figure it out. Her actual response to me was "Oh shit!" Took me off guard of course, she told me to look up Trigeminal Neuralgia. Only had it a handful of times back then, until a couple years ago it happened again. Last week it hit me hard. BUT, I've been getting ketamine/spravato treatments for depression, when I left the office, the TN was almost gone, and other then a few twinges, it hasn't started back up. Ask your doc about it, because my body chemistry is resistant to MOST medications and treatments, if it worked for me, maybe it'll help others!!

I have had very rare shooting pain in my gums on my left side. It’s always left me thinking maybe I have a cavity. Cut to months later and recently, I have felt a weird sensation in my left cheek… kinda feels like ants as I am out for my jogs. I thought I was over caffeinating because I have been guilty of that in the past, but now it’s accompanied by jaw joint pain (both sides). I too am pretty resistant to most meds so I’m wondering how you got into ketamine treatments. Thank you for any info you can provide.

The pain was so bad I cried myself to sleep.. the pain was as if someone was poking at my face and brain with an ice pick from the inside out ! I’ve broken my collarbone, ankle had many surgeries have taken bad falls and this is by far the worst pain I have ever had.. don’t wish it on anyone.. can’t eat,can’t brush my teeth,wash my face,lick my lips, pucker to drink out of a straw.. it would hit So bad at points I Would see a flash of darkness.. so they put me on triliptal 4 times a day.. I got myself down to 1 A day .. I’ve had this since 2019 and medication cured it.. but now it’s back.. not as severe but I’m Constantly getting “shocks” Makes u just want to quit.. We don't know what causes TN, there can be various reasons. Dental work,stress, sinus infection, etc... that triggers it. Not muddled at all. I also do a neurological evaluation beforehand. We can't possibly film every visit especially the first initial exam. Chiropractors in many states do emg and NCv testing (I do them, that's a neurological test) what would a neurologist do for a patient with TN?? The same cookie cutter approach they've been doing for decades. Drugs and more drugs. Maybe some botox or gabapentin. And whatever sticks to the wall they'll go with. Not our office! We used latest since based technologies to get proven results

Long history of TN pain. Originally from dental work. Finally after 30 some years a Chiropractor got the most recent episodes right. C1 and C2 in my neck causing most recent episodes which also triggered vertigo. Episodes not constant in the 30 years nor did I stay medicated or surgery intervention. So glad I did not as some do. Hi Canoegirl!! You can ask anything😊 They had found that normally it’s an artery pressing on the Trigeminal nerve, and they normally put a piece of teflon in between, but mine was different Here it was a almost a “ball-like” amount of veins pressing against the nerve, so they cauterized the veins and I’ve been okay now for almost 15 years So I believe they saw this in the CT scan they gave me and thought the microvascular decompression was the way to go If you ever need anything, please don’t hesitate to reach out I completely get it, and I’m a nurse and never heard of this disease Do you currently have it?? If you don’t mind me asking, if you have anymore questions or need to talk I’m here for you I had no one, I was so scared TC of you please!!!💜

What cold laser therapy brand/device would you recommend? Also is the cold laser therapy a permanent fix; or do I have to go for surgery to have the pain completely stop? My doctor prescribed me Carbamazepine, but the pain is coming more frequent now and is like an electrical shock sensation alongside my right lower jaw bone and at times rings in my ear. The pain comes sporadic and hurts more when I chew. I have had TMJ before but it was many years ago, and I relieved it by doing home remedy workouts with my jaw. I used to get severe headaches and grind my teeth a lot from just nervousness/fear/anxiety, but notice I still grind my teeth, so I try to relax as much as possible and take it easy. At first, I too made the mistake by going to my dentist thinking I had a bad cavity, but my dentist told me he didn't see anything wrong. So I then went to my primary care, and he discovered it was Trigeminal Neuralgia, and that is what he prescribed to me. If you have any recommendations on a device I can purchase, please do let me know and thank you. Your video was very helpful.

1200 mg daily pregabalin, 200 mg carbamazepine and 2 mg dilaudid and assorted high potency compounded ketamine and lidocaine topicals did NOTHING for a horrendous total right side neck, scalp and ear shingles coverage that made my preexisting trigeminal neuralgia absolute agony in my post herpetic stage. Nothing's helped so far, except for one general nerve block I recvd last week between the c2-c4 just in the fleshy part of the neck. Helped the scalp itching until I bled issue a bit, but not the jolting fireballs of excruciating and incessant itching and burning pain in the jaw, neck and exquisitely sensitive outer ear. I need another block, but it's hard to get one without trying to access one in the ER, and waiting for 10 hours, where you may or may not get the block, depending on the availability of the doctors on hand.

@randomvids1911
@randomvids1911 Жыл бұрын
I see someone liked the question and I’ve found the answer so here it is if you’d like to know: the trigeminal neuralgia involves damage to the sensory root of the nerve only and so pain is felt because the spinal root is intact. In fact the pain is surgically annulled by tractotomy of the spinal tract of the trigeminal nerve

I had cluster headaches. When it comes on, it takes me down. I must lay on the side that is in pain and close my eyes. No ability to tolerate light or movement or noise. Can't eat/drink due to nausea. Eventually narrowed it down to sugar in my diet. Once I was able to remove as much sugar as possible, they got better.

Sounds like you have trigeminal neuralgia. Your best bet is to have an MRI done on the trigeminal nerve root and see if there's vascular compression. If there is, you can have microvascular decompression surgery. Which is about 95% effective. There are other less invasive procedures like gamma knife, glycogen injections, cyber knife, etc. Go get an MRI and say you're concerned it is trigeminal neuralgia.

My pain started right after the clearing-up of face & inner mouth Shingles. The Shingles missed the inner eye (thank goodness)...but the needle & lightening-like pain was on & off throughout the day on the very outer eye bone & temple...with needle-like pain shooting maybe 10-15 times, lasting 5 minutes or so.
