Utilize Pull-up Bar Hanging Traction (Dead Hangs) to decompress and traction the spine while simultaneously stretching the shoulder muscles and building grip strength.

Thank you doctor! What do you think about hanging upside down? I think it will decompress the spine in a different unique way.

You're welcome. Inversion therapy can be effective to help traction and decompress the spine. Inversion therapy it is not for everyone. Contraindications include: Vertigo, dizziness, pregnancy, prosthetic legs, knee replacements, hip replacements, obesity, metallic implants in the spine, bone weakening diseases, high blood pressure, low blood pressure, stroke, TIA, glaucoma, conjunctivitis, retinal detachment, middle ear disorders, seizures, hiatal hernia, esophageal reflux, heart disease and blood disorders. If any of these conditions exist do not attempt to use an inversion table. Seek professional medical advice before beginning inversion therapy. If symptoms are elicited during the use of an inversion table, stop immediately.

July 2022, i had a random injury while doing pushups, and in September 2022, i was diagnosed with vertebral compression (compaction?) The doctor recommended me to practice swimming, but i was wondering if this actually helps or is it just a temporary solution? Ps: i'm 21.

Most likely, swimming was recommended because the buoyancy of the water does not compress the spine and swimming works the left and right sides of the body equally.

Hello doctor. Thanks for your video. Would hanging like this be good for patient with cervical radiculopathy? I have this problem detected through Xray just this week. The doctor told me it is disc degeneration on C6 C7 Thank you for your advice.

Pull-up Bar Hanging Traction is more beneficial for the Thoracic Spine (Midback) and Lumbar Spine (Low Back) than for the Cervical Spine (Neck). If I were you I would use this exercise on a consistent basis along with a variety of stretching exercises and foam rolling.

I just got up a pull up bar I've had pain in my top left arm for years like if I lift a bar like curl it I feel the mussle work in my right arm but my left I feel it gose straight to my left shoulder not the arm. Will hanging help please and for Lower back

Pull-up bar hanging traction is helpful for back stretching and traction and for shoulder stretching. If I were you I would see a Doctor of Chiropractic for my shoulder condition for evaluation and treatment before attempting pull-up bar hanging traction.

Hey Donald. I'm doing them just to decompress my spine after heavy weight lifting workouts, I don't have spinal problems. I want to know if I do them right: I feel a deep stretch in my lower latissimus dorsi muscles, a moderate stretch on my upper lats and shoulders, and fatigue on my hands(due to grip). Is it the way I supposed to feel it? I don't know if the stretch I feel on my back is decompression or compression, I just feel a heavy stretch for muscles

Great questions. Sounds like you are doing them properly and getting the desired results. Try a variety of grip widths and positions to target the muscles at different angles.

So 3 sets of pronated(wide,shoulder width, narrow) + 2 sets of supinated(shoulder with,narrow) + 2 sets of neutral(shoulder with, narrow) hangs, for 20 seconds each(20*7=140seconds total) set a good decompression routine after workouts?(I workout 4 days a week) Or is it overkill?

If I were you I would do two or three sets after every workout. For example Workout one - 3 sets of pronated (wide & narrow). Workout two - 2 sets of supinated (shoulder with,narrow) Workout three - 2 sets of neutral(shoulder with, narrow) Workout four - 2 sets with pronated grip at shoulder width.

If I were you I would try the Pull-up Hanging Traction as one of many tools to help with a disc bulge in the lower lumbar spine.

I know you probably can’t diagnose me via comment section, but whenever I hang from a pull up bar and let my body free to “relax and decompress the spine ” I feel lots of pain in my lower back and it won’t pop or anything....

If I were you I would make sure that your toes are lightly contacting the floor or a bench. I would experiment with leg positions to find one that does not elicit symptoms.
