I completely got rid of it from my large toenail. Every night I soaked my feet in almost hot water with 3/4 cup or so of vinegar. This softened the nails. I then scraped under the infected toenail as much as possible with a sharp metal dental tool. It didn't hurt. I would then put Vicks Vapor Rub into the area I had scraped out. It took several months of this same routine but worth it. This was years ago and it's never come back.

A 96 year old woman, very knowledgeable, gave me her family's homemade recipe for toe nail fungus... -apple cider vinegar -vick 's vapor rub Soak a cotton ball in ACV and put a bandaid around it for as long as you can ... Wash well with antibacterial soap, dry your toe nails... Put a blob of Vicks vapor rub on top & underneath the infected nail, wrap with a bandage, place a white cotton sock on & sleep overnight.... Wake up next day , wash with antibacterial soap, do the ACV regiment and then the Vicks vapor rub at night.... Rinse & repeat.... Youll see a difference within 2 weeks that it IS working .... I did this regiment for approx 3 months.... My nails are beautiful again! Painless.... Not expensive either!👍

The best way is to trim away the nail that has been affected by the fungus. This will not hurt as the nail is no longer attached to the nail bed because of the fungus. The whole area of nail that has been cut away must be allowed to dry out completely. The area is now dry and open and the nail will then quickly repair and grow back as normal. Repeat as needed. I’ve treated many.

I caught it early when it was a bit past halfway down each of my pinkies. I looked up the remedies online, talked to my doc. Antibio = horse shit! And all the other remedies say it's a multi step 6-12 month process..... Because the nail itself blocks access to the infection. I'm not recommending people do this, but this is what I did: So I managed to rip half the toenails off, then put a alcohol swab pad on top of the nail entry and dug the tweezeers as deep as I could under the nail. I then got the anti fungal nail lacquer and spread that and dug under the nail with that, too. I'm very happy with it so far - it looks completely normal (just a pygmy nail size) fingers crossed this holds! I will keep applying anti-fungal treatment for another 6 weeks minimum regardless because there's no way I want to risk going through that inconvenience and time sink. I wonder why applying anaesthetic, removing the nail, and eliminating the infection is not an option doctors provide? Seems WAY better than an anti-bio that nukes your liver. Good luck to all, hope this helps.

Do not use socks all the time esp at home except if too cold. Throw away or clean shoes and socks properly. I spray shoes with foot spray purchased and let them dry outside. Socks are soak in warm water with laundry soap and bit teaspoon of white water for hours then rinse and wash as usual. Yup always cut ur toenails and clean, keep feet and shoes dry

Dr. Dray I have had fungus on one toe for years. I have tried so many things. I have kept it from spreading but can not eliminate it. I want to try either the ozonated sunflower oil or the Keratin with tea tree. Which do you think is a better option?

Should you cut the infected nail portion out before attempting these remedies?

Hi good info..just a quick Q. I recently suffered runners toe from my big toe hitting my running shoes..sneakers didn't feel too small but then again it could be the way i was running (big steps instead of smaller ones), anyway my situation is the dark red/fungussed nail has eventually came off but there is a piece of it along one side of toe that was not affected from the fungus/runners toe..will this small sliver of "old nail" cause a problem for when the new nail grows ? And is there anything i can do to accelerate the new nail growth? Cheers.

How about silver water for to treat fungal nails?
@lesliea73944 ай бұрын
The topicals don't work bc your nails are not porous. You can make them more porous by thinning them down. The best place for liquid topicals is around the periphery of the nail so that it can reach the underside of the nail where the fungus lives. Keeping cutting your nail shorter and cleaning out the fungal debris from under the nail. FungiNail or FungiCure, both otc, are very hard on your nails but this is a good thing bc you can more easily cut back the damaged nail. The more nail you can remove the better bc the medication will get directly to the nail bed where the fungi lives I have cured several toes this way. It took years but now I can get a pedicure again.

My dog has toenail fungus. We are treating with a spray of apple cider vinegar and water. 2 parts water to 1 part vinegar. Per my vet. He said ppl have also had success with Listerine. Yes mouthwash listerine kills toenail fungus.

We also soaked my dogs foot in an Epsom salt foot soak twice a day. That helped reduce the odor and inflammation. Then we use the vinegar.

My Dr.’s nurse recommended Oil of Oregano, which I’ve been using - don’t know if it’s working but no side effects - afraid of using anything else as my big left toe nail (don’t like the looks of it) gives me concern.

I have used clove and lavender oil. The infection was bad in two smaller toes on one foot. The oils cured the athletes' feet I got from my ex-husband. My nails are better, but not 100% cured with the oils. My next move is mixing the oils I have been using with tea tree, oregano, and castor oils. I want to avoid the liver damaging oral treatments.

I had toenail fungus. I used all the medicines prescribed by the doctor for 3 years, still it did not get better. A pharmacist friend of mine. He said to mix the baking soda with vaseline and apply. I applied it this way for 3 week and my nail fungus, which has not healed for 3 years, is permanently gone.

I even had gone to Harley st here in London for laser treatment for my fungus toe paying loads of money and it still didn't work till I come across oregano oil and added it to my toe nail for some weeks. It went very hard then it fell off with a new nail growing totally cured.

@@mystikrebel1089 so happy for you but sadly I did this for ages and didnt work for me. I’ve been consistent with many remedies too. I think it depends on the fungus.

Pleasee make a video about aquaphor on lips causing sunburn in some people. I used aquaphor for along time on my lips and I was fine, but then I stopped when I saw a TikTok about it because it gave me anxiety. I also use vanicream moisturizing cream which has petroleum in it, so I’m wondering if that affects my sun protection.

What do you think is possible to do

I am not sure if this has any scientific backing, but when I did long hours from landscaping, I got brittle toe nails that I am pretty sure was fungus. I started using s Selson Blue on my feet that I let sit for 30 minutes on my feet 2 or 3 times a week. I saw great improvement with regular use, but it did come back after a few months. I tried Selson Blue since I heard it's used as an antifungal for your head, so I thought, why not the feet as well? It did work to keep it at bay but it seems to be a decent affordable at home treatment, not a cure for fungus if you can't afford a doctor.
