I completely got rid of it from my large toenail. Every night I soaked my feet in almost hot water with 3/4 cup or so of vinegar. This softened the nails. I then scraped under the infected toenail as much as possible with a sharp metal dental tool. It didn't hurt. I would then put Vicks Vapor Rub into the area I had scraped out. It took several months of this same routine but worth it. This was years ago and it's never come back.

Very interesting. The one thing people also need to know is that oral anti-fungal prescription meds can cause serious problems and require episodic blood testing of liver enzymes.

Keep them clean, scrape the muck out from under the nail often, and moisturize. It took me a year, but I succeeded. Good luck everyone! 🦶🦶🦶

A 96 year old woman, very knowledgeable, gave me her family's homemade recipe for toe nail fungus... -apple cider vinegar -vick 's vapor rub Soak a cotton ball in ACV and put a bandaid around it for as long as you can ... Wash well with antibacterial soap, dry your toe nails... Put a blob of Vicks vapor rub on top & underneath the infected nail, wrap with a bandage, place a white cotton sock on & sleep overnight.... Wake up next day , wash with antibacterial soap, do the ACV regiment and then the Vicks vapor rub at night.... Rinse & repeat.... Youll see a difference within 2 weeks that it IS working .... I did this regiment for approx 3 months.... My nails are beautiful again! Painless.... Not expensive either!👍

I used tea tree oil and worked 100%! I had a fungus that made my toe nail black and hollow, almost 10 years ago. I used other products from drugstore proper to that, but it didn't work. One day I bought tea tree oil, cut my nail most I could, almost everything, cutting and filing the nail and I started to apply one drop of the oil. And my nail started to heal, grow clean and healthy. Up to this day I don't have anymore.

Fyi- I got a toenail fungus even though I don't get pedicures or go to a gym without flip flops, etc. Believe it or not, I had just stopped using hibiclens daily after watching Dr. Dray's video about "supergerms" or whatever she called them! It has been over a year but I can finally say that my body has adjusted back to normal. The fungus toenails (both of my big toes) grew out and no more need for vicks vapo rub 🤣

I used regular soap- i.e. whatever soap my husband had in the shower- for any other areas that had visible dirt or if I'd been hiking, at the beach, etc. My skin got worse before it got better, fyi. On my toes, I applied the vicks, washed with the benzoil peroxide and simply waited for the fungus nails to grow out. It was both my big toes. The new nail is very strong and healthy and I stopped using the vicks after about 2 months. I hope this helps!

The best way is to trim away the nail that has been affected by the fungus. This will not hurt as the nail is no longer attached to the nail bed because of the fungus. The whole area of nail that has been cut away must be allowed to dry out completely. The area is now dry and open and the nail will then quickly repair and grow back as normal. Repeat as needed. I’ve treated many.

Hear me out. I got it from getting pedicures from my local nail salon. I saw you can get it lasered as a remedy at a podiatrist. I figured my Remington laser hair removal machine at home may work and used it twice on my toe nails. It worked for me 🤷‍♀️ I don’t know why, how etc however yet now have just the last little bit of white to clip off probably in 2 weeks. It isn’t harmful for removing hair so why not zap the fungus was my thought and for me it worked.

More importantly, can you explain the pros and cons of med spas and what type of research people should be doing before going to one or if they are better off going to a dermatologist. I ask this because I see so many people promoting med spas over dermatologists and going against a lot on what dermatologists say. I think your input would be really helpful for people especially when it comes to avoding shady spa places that can do more harm than good.

I caught it early when it was a bit past halfway down each of my pinkies. I looked up the remedies online, talked to my doc. Antibio = horse shit! And all the other remedies say it's a multi step 6-12 month process..... Because the nail itself blocks access to the infection. I'm not recommending people do this, but this is what I did: So I managed to rip half the toenails off, then put a alcohol swab pad on top of the nail entry and dug the tweezeers as deep as I could under the nail. I then got the anti fungal nail lacquer and spread that and dug under the nail with that, too. I'm very happy with it so far - it looks completely normal (just a pygmy nail size) fingers crossed this holds! I will keep applying anti-fungal treatment for another 6 weeks minimum regardless because there's no way I want to risk going through that inconvenience and time sink. I wonder why applying anaesthetic, removing the nail, and eliminating the infection is not an option doctors provide? Seems WAY better than an anti-bio that nukes your liver. Good luck to all, hope this helps.

Ive been using apple cider vinegar I paint on every night, been using it for almost a year, and there is a clear line between the fungus and the clean nail, its weird but it proves it works. The fungus part is much thicker and abit yellow tint, but my clean part is clear and healthy pink. My nail isnt even halfway grown out though 😭 takes so long. I also struggle with ingrown toenail on that same nail. I only have it on one toe.

Ive been on ketoconazole for 6 months and it's been a battle. I soak my feet for 20min every night in a foot bath very hot with hydrogen peroxide, vinegar and epson salt. I apply t tree essential oil with manuka oil twice a day especially right after the soak. I cut them very short. I will definitely try vics as an extra step to combat it because it's a really hard strain to treat. I have noticed it clearing up but you have to be on it every day!

My husband has had this problem for years and it is bad! He tried the oral medications but it began to cause liver problems. Soooo, I do what I can to keep his nails trimmed. He isn't consistent with treatments except for using a triple antibiotic ointment. I will try some of your suggestions and keep my fingers crossed that something will help. My concern is that there will eventually be an infection - not a good thing. Thank you for always giving smart information.

@@DrDrayzdaylush launched an oil of oregano soap years ago for nurses in an English hospital. It was called 13, unlucky for dirt. The product they used had oil of oregano in it but it used to destroy their skin. It was an absolute wonderful soap, shame they discontinued it. Will try and find the name of the hospital.

Washing feet with gold palmolive soap antimicrobal soap, rinse, dry and apply combination of tea tree oil & johnsons aloe vera oil on feet particularly toenails. Do not use socks all the time esp at home except if too cold. Throw away or clean shoes and socks properly. I spray shoes with foot spray purchased and let them dry outside. Socks are soak in warm water with laundry soap and bit teaspoon of white water for hours then rinse and wash as usual. Yup always cut ur toenails and clean, keep feet and shoes dry

Hi good info..just a quick Q. I recently suffered runners toe from my big toe hitting my running shoes..sneakers didn't feel too small but then again it could be the way i was running (big steps instead of smaller ones), anyway my situation is the dark red/fungussed nail has eventually came off but there is a piece of it along one side of toe that was not affected from the fungus/runners toe..will this small sliver of "old nail" cause a problem for when the new nail grows ? And is there anything i can do to accelerate the new nail growth? Cheers.

The topicals don't work bc your nails are not porous. You can make them more porous by thinning them down. The best place for liquid topicals is around the periphery of the nail so that it can reach the underside of the nail where the fungus lives. Keeping cutting your nail shorter and cleaning out the fungal debris from under the nail. FungiNail or FungiCure, both otc, are very hard on your nails but this is a good thing bc you can more easily cut back the damaged nail. The more nail you can remove the better bc the medication will get directly to the nail bed where the fungi lives I have cured several toes this way. It took years but now I can get a pedicure again.

I have used clove and lavender oil. The infection was bad in two smaller toes on one foot. The oils cured the athletes' feet I got from my ex-husband. My nails are better, but not 100% cured with the oils. My next move is mixing the oils I have been using with tea tree, oregano, and castor oils. I want to avoid the liver damaging oral treatments.

Pleasee make a video about aquaphor on lips causing sunburn in some people. I used aquaphor for along time on my lips and I was fine, but then I stopped when I saw a TikTok about it because it gave me anxiety. I also use vanicream moisturizing cream which has petroleum in it, so I’m wondering if that affects my sun protection.

I am not sure if this has any scientific backing, but when I did long hours from landscaping, I got brittle toe nails that I am pretty sure was fungus. I started using s Selson Blue on my feet that I let sit for 30 minutes on my feet 2 or 3 times a week. I saw great improvement with regular use, but it did come back after a few months. I tried Selson Blue since I heard it's used as an antifungal for your head, so I thought, why not the feet as well? It did work to keep it at bay but it seems to be a decent affordable at home treatment, not a cure for fungus if you can't afford a doctor.
