I got a 400ml tube of the Ceramide Ato-cream for Illiyoon and have been using it for nearly forever since late 2019/ early 2020. A little really goes a long way for face and body. It is very cheap and popular in Korea too, with prices that can even match CeraVe (possibly even cheaper too).

I never heard of K Beauty shops. LOL. I live in a very small rural town in Northern Indiana. We don't even have a stop light in our town. 😄 We do have a CVS store! We drive about 35 miles to a small city to shop. I am 60 years old and was looking at KZbin for aging skin care advise. I was actually getting pretty depressed seeing expensive and elaborate means some were promoting. In addition- not very healthy things, as I am a breast cancer survivor, Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma thriver. THEN I found you! Whew- what a breath of fresh air. I have learned so much from you and my skin is better than ever. CeraVe is my favorite go to. I am obsessed with sunscreen (a fair skinned red-head). I love you Vlogs and your lifestyle and adore your mom. So- thank you.

All of these products exist but the simplest routine and products are better than all of them. CeraVe moisturizing wash, tretinoin, CeraVe cream. be mindful that humectants and pcclusives are referring different tp types of ingredients. Hummectants prevent transdermal water loss by attracting water molecules in skin cells . Most common ingredient from this category are hyaluronic acid and niacinamide. Occulsives tend to feel more thick, heavy and oily in general, but there are occlusive with smaller molecular mass which feels more elegant and less greasy when applied. They retains water content by making a film on top of the skin to prevent water from evaporating. Silicones (usually chemicals with end with -con, -xane), caprylic acids and steric acids are some occlusives
@rubywong31895 жыл бұрын
personally, both humectants and occlusives are equally important in terms of what ingredients a skincare products contain. When one has oily or combo skin, a product with higher conc of humetant and little amount of occlusive and vice versa for dry and mature skin

Heimish All Clean Green Foam is my Holy Grail product. It doesn't irritate my skin and does not make it dry even without any moisturizer on but at the same time it leaves my skin perfectly clean 😊 (I have combination skin that easily dehydrates). The second HG is Iunik cleansing foam with centella asiatica - it's the most gentle cleanser I've tried so far (unfortunately the Cerave irritates my skin but it's the favourite cleanser of my teenage sister), I use Iunik in the morning and Heimish as a part of p.m. skin routine and after couple of weeks I noticed a huge improvement.

Modelling masks are like dyi projects. You mix the powder with another medium (usually included) and the trowel the goop on to you face. It can be fun, if you don't mind potential mess. I think they peel off rather than wash off. The cushion you picked up was for foundation. They are very light applications and contain spf. They are meant to be used a few times a day because they do not last like North American foundations. The benefit for the Korean women is it allows you to touch up your makeup and reapply sunscreen at the same time.

You can try some of the K-beauty websites. If you live in the US there are ones like peach and lily, sokoglam and others. In Canada there are stores called Skin shop. They should stock cushion foundations. Sephora sometimes has the Laneige cushions, which are supposed to be nice. They are also available on Amazon and eBay. The trick is to do some research before you buy as some are glowy, others matt, etc. Most have an spf of 30 as a minimum, though some are as high as 50. They provide a very light, natural finish because that is the Korean aesthetic. To cover blemishes or dark eye circles you still need a concealer. The other issue with Korean cushion foundation is the limited colour choice. Being fair can be a trick as their shades are more in the medium range. The lightest in some lines can be very pink, since it is made more for brightening. Some lines carry a very pale ivory, but again, you have to check. I am quite fair and would probably try the lightest beige rather than the ivory option as it is very light. There are actually cushion foundations available from wet n wild, though I don't know if they have the spf.

I use the Benton Aloe BHA Skin Toner and I enjoy it. It's super hydrating and I do find that the Salicylic Acid is very gentle - I read online that some people tested the pH and it sits around a 6. It's really not the thing I would use if you are specifically looking for a strong BHA for your routine. I have combo dry/normal skin that's dehydrated and am prone to cystic hormonal acne. I use it daily and will combine it with my lactic acid exfoliate or spot treatments without fear of the pH getting too acidic.

I've used the Benton Aloe BHA Toner and really enjoyed it. It was always really soothing and made my skin feel nice after using--sort of like softened the slate before my other products. I'm not sure how much of a difference it really made in my routine, which is why I've actually moved onto other toners (currently using Pyunkang Yul's essence toner--woot!!), but it didn't irritate me at all or have any other negative side effects that I could see! Here's the ingredient list for the Madecassoside Cream: Centella Asiatica Leaf Water, Niacinamide, Panthenol, Centella Asiatica Extract, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Leaf Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Madecassoside, Adenosine, Lactic Acid. Modeling masks are basically the same as dental alginate impression material. A powder of sodium alginate, calcium sulphate, trisodium phosphate and some other fillers. You mix it with water to form a viscous gel that sets. The mask is peeled off once it sets. You can adjust the setting time by varying the water temperature. Basically it is a type of occlusive. In spas, it will be applied after all the hydrating steps to drive in the products on top of the skin.

I found it funny that the nature republic aloe vera gel is very popular here in my country as face moisturizer rather than after shave cream🙈🙈🙈 It's basically a multipurposes gel for face, body, hair, nail. It is claimed to relax swollen eyes as well🙈

Those acne stickers or pouches are great . I thought they were gimmicky, but they heal acne so much faster and better abd aren't expensive

I like the ones with Bifida ferment lysate in them like the Sidmool or Yuri Pibu Bifida Repair Ampoule. It's the main ingredient in Lancomes Genifique serums which cost hundreds. Great review. Like the line that camera thinks Dr Dray is a cloud in her sunmask.

the innisfree powder is a life changer for ppl who have oily skin, it is also very gentle on my hyper sensitive skin

Whew! I breathed a sigh of relief when you put down the Benton toner 😌 I use that line. The cream at 14:03 is great, but very strong citrus fragrance that stings my eyes.. I won't repurchase that.

I love the hada labo hyleuronic premium and the cosrx oil free moisture lotion. Both excellent for dry skin.

Soon Jung barrier is a must while I don't feel much benefit from the toner. I also enjoyed the Dr. Jart BB cream and Cosrx pimple patches are so helpful. Thanks Dr Dray!

When you have to speak in a low toned voice you should consider recording what you're saying using your cell phone and the earbuds with a mic feature. This would require you to match the audio of your recorded voice to your video during editing. Or, maybe include your own captioning. It's difficult to hear and understand everything you say when you have to speak in such a hushed voice. Just an idea.

Agreed, she should do the voice overs, because after a while, the vocal fry is just too much to listen to.

This was fun. I definitely have a problem. I have 96% of the stuff you picked up. I won’t bore you with comments on each one...but I agree that do much of the K-beauty has fragrance. I have never tried the P Yul products. For a honey mask I absolutely love love love the May Lindstrom The Honey Mud mask... it smells but I am almost certain it is just the natural scent of what is in it, not added fragrance. Not sure if that is just as bad. But don’t ask me how much the Honey Mud costs bc I like to pretend I didn’t actually pay that much. 😬😬.

The Apieu Madecassoside cream has lavender and citrus oil. There is a Korean App called Hwahae which you can see the ingredients list and they're written in English. :) I live in Korea.But I'm cautious with what skincare I buy because of you.Going to beauty shops here have tempted me many times to buy fragranced skincare but I always think about you.hahaha

Guys. For real I haven't had a pimple since I switched up my skin care routine based on her recommendations. I've got combo skin. I used to maybe get a 1-4 pimples throughout a month. Now I get none. ^_^

The modelling mask used in Korean spa treatments is basically the soft gel-rubber mask that they apply over the face after facial treatments at the aesthetician's. The mask applies like a thick cream-paste when you have mixed the ingredients, and then dries up over half an hour or so to form a really soft rubbery layer of mask which peels off without the stinging or strong adhesive quality of PVP-containing masks. It can be quite gimmicky and overpriced, but I see it mostly as an upgraded single-use version of spa salon peel-off masks.

The name is illiyoon. The only apparently fragrance free in the illiyoon line is the one with white and sky blue colored container(exactly what you bought).But I assume fermented ingredient is a fragrance as well which this line has.I use illiyoon(white and sky blue colored container only), the cream and lotion and I can say that I'm loving them.

Really enjoyed the trip. I use Korean skin care products every day. I do not wear makeup, but do use the products on my face. I use Cerave on my body, but not my face. I use the Cerave sunblock on my face every day after my skin care products are on. I have had no adverse reactions from any Korean skin care products as yet and I have been using them faithfully for about 2 years now. I purchase them from 2 different sites online. Maybe I just have been lucky, but so far so good. Enjoy your videos very much. Thanks.

i use the aloe bha toner, is not a mist is a thick liquid, i'm acne prone skin and sensitive and i haven't had any bad reaction to it, it actually helps to soothe irritation in my skin, but of course every person is different.

Hi dr Dray! Enjoyed shopping with you. Didn't use a lot of mentioned products. Puynkang Yul used a mist (before I found your channel i used mists 😄). Not irritating but whether it did anything cannot say. Love their moisturising cream. Bought on your recommendation. For the rest, lots of them have fragrance as you say. Thanks a lot and hope you are having a good week!

@pickledginger58765 жыл бұрын
Fabiana Lopez - I'd like to know why so many baby products have added fragrance - when babies generally smell great when clean already - kinda the way puppies smell good.

Loved the innisfree no sebum powder . Use it to tone down the shine on my t-zone from sunscreens and keeps my oil at Bay for about 2hrs . It’s affordable I Guess. But sadly it does have fragrance . I love to use the cosrx rice “mask” as a moisturiser in the morning . It’s very lightweight .
