I love Hope Solo!!! IMO she is just the best! For someone that didn’t become a goalkeeper until College, she absolutely killed it, then to top it all off, she beat all other players that have been playing goalie years longer than she had. Hope Solo was just in a category of her own. The rawness, talent and athleticism are just unparalleled.

As far as players who don't get the credit they deserve, I nominate Casey Krueger of the Spirit and USWNT. For as consistent and as effective as she has been, I don't think her name gets mentioned as the top player she no doubt is. Maybe it's that defenders just don't tend to stand out, but Casey has distinguished herself time after time.

Hope has issues but you can never deny how much she raised the standard for a goal keeper. Plus, goalies didn't do the foot play coming out from the back then. As much as admire Neaher I'd give it Hope.

I decided to play the second round game between Lisa and Christine at 33:30 by pausing the video on hearing the 2nd question (so at this point I have not yet heard the answer) but I am convinced that the player that Sandra is talking about is (drum roll)... ROSE LAVELLE!! It was the debut against England that gives it away for me, I watched that game and remember it well because Rose Lavelle's debut performance was scarily good. And now as I'm thinking about all the clubs she has played for (I don't need help from Google) 1. Washington Spirit 2. Man City, 3. OL Reign 4. Gotham FC, I am now 100% convinced I am right. I paused the video at 33:30 with Lisa and Christine still in 🤔🤔🙄🙄 mode lol 😅 OK I'm going to resume watching the rest of the video now.... ...😀😀Yes!!! confirmation. Rose Lavelle 🤗🤗🤗 (I like winning as well). Lisa needed Sandra to give her a 3rd clue but the Man City clue was too easy, it should have been clue number 4 not clue number 3 because only three USWNT players have ever played for Man City (Rose, Sam Mewis and Carly Lloyd) and Lisa was always going to know that answer without giving it a moment's thought.

USA just won the Olympics of course people will vote Alyssa Naeher over Hope Solo lol Prime for Prime ( 1 V 1 or 90 minutes Hope Solo is a better keep than Alyssa ( especially for the US national team 1) Hope more athletic 2) Hope is the better shot blocker( however Alyssa is good) 3) Both are good with the ball at their feet. Hope is better because she was a striker However teams started to play the ball from the back more during Alyssa Naeher Era 4) Hope Solo commands the box more and had more Presence than Alyssa Naeher 5) If we put aside the controversy surrounding Hope Solo....and ask any Manager who would they have in Goal Hope Solo or Alyssa Naeher Hope Solo would be there goal keeper choice

In making specific plays, I agree that Solo has the clear edge but as a teammate and leader and mentor of younger players, it’s Naeher.

Hope Solo is the better keeper. However Alyssa Naeher is top keeper

As money gets more important, the more likely it is that European coaches will come in and change the way teams play, which will result in wins for the teams that change. If you need an example, look at the English men's Premier League. The English love the more athletic style too, but the top teams play more tactically, full of international star players.
