Lancer originally aired on Tuesday nights at 7:30pm on the CBS Network...It was up against "The Mod Squad" on ABC, and "I Dream of Jeannie", and "The Debbie Reynolds Show" on NBC ..Sadly, the show was cancelled after it's second season and 51 episodes...This episode originally aired on April 07, 1970...Thank goodness for KZbin and the people that upload and share these "classic and rarely seen anymore" TV Series, so that some of us can relive the magic all over again, or enjoy the show for the first time (like me)! Let the good TV Shows play on, and take care! Ms. Elizabeth 📺📼📀📺📼📀

I could watch these everyday for a long time. I was 9 back then, and just faintly remember these, and probably from later re-runs. Great cast.

I remember Harold Gould mostly as Valerie Harper's father, Mr. Morgenstern, on "Rhoda." But this episode didn't impress me much. We'd already seen similar portrayals of eccentric inventors dreaming of horseless carriages and flying machines on "Bonanza."

Oh yeah...and the dimple that would appear every now and then was adorable. Wayne Maunder (Scott) was very good looking, but his voice was so deep and rather flat compared to James Stacy's. James was also such a natural on camera.

Is it just me, or did they really dumb Chad down from his first episode? He was never a genius, to be sure, but I don't remember him acting like such a lunkhead in "Chad." I almost didn't even recognize him again as the Kentucky boy Johnny had met just 7 episodes earlier.
