This team was pretty much forgotten and overshadowed by the 92 & 96 in those era. This team deserved some love too. On paper, people might think this is inferior team but for me these team was solid af. I think this team has a deep rotation of Center and Forward. They had Kemp, young Shaq, Zo and Larry Johnson who'd been scary good together. Coleman was a beast, he could be the next Barkley if he didn't hindered by injury when I see his performance in that competition. Their guard such as Reggie, Price, KJ & Dan Majerle were legit efficient. Even Steve Smith was still great at the time. Remember when Steve was supposed to be "the next Jordan" even before Penny & Grant Hill? Pretty sure he could if it wasn't for his injury as well. Wilkins was out of his prime but he was still in a good shape. I think this was the last time he did a great job with the team he played with. Very underrated team with a bunch of underrated player who'd still motivated, loaded, injury free and in a good shape in their career during this time. However, I can tell the only player that found a big success and had a big season in their career in before & after this were Dumars, Shaq and Zo. Dumars won 2 ring with Pistons before, Shaq later won a ring in 2000s with Lakers & Heat and Zo with heat in 06 later. The rest were very unlucky, struggled to carried the weak franchise team in entire league and some of them were suffered by injury and never bounce back. I believe these team were better than at least those Olympic 2000 team. Not sure if these team could beat the current team who won 2021 Olympic though but I believe this team can do better in defense and offensive end

Let's not forget Shawn Kemp. People only talk about how his career declined way too early, which is true. But man, what years he had. Beat Hakeem in his prime in 93 and only lost in the WCF against prime Charles in game 7. Swept the reigning champions with Hakeem in 96, dominating in every way possible. Then beat Malone, totally outplaying him in game 7. Only to loose against the 72 win bulls in the finals being the best player of the whole series. Until one year later it took the Rockets 7 games and Hakeem and Chuck combined to finally stop Shawn. It's not about the rings only. It's how much you give a fight. Boy, did he do that.

They went with duos that made each other better - like Jordan and Pippen and Stockton and Malone which is understandable from a team chemistry point of view plus Issah had alienated Jordan and Magic at that point and he'd just led the walk off against the Bulls which was rightly seen as very bad sportsmanship.

Let's stop and talk about Shawn Kemp for a minute. People only talk about his thunderous dunks (the most furious the world had seen till then) and how his career declined way too early, which is true. But man, what years he had. Came into the league after only one year in college and took some time to adjust, going from not having a jump shot at all, cause he never had needed one, to finding the smoothest long two out there. Played above the rim but also protected it and grabbed boards at will. But it was all for the highlights and not for success? Let's see: Beat Hakeem in his prime in 93 and only lost in the WCF against prime Charles in game 7. Swept the reigning champions with Hakeem in 96, dominating in every way possible. Then beat Malone, totally outplaying him in game 7 in another WCF. Only to loose against the 72 win bulls in the finals, being the best player of the whole series. Until one year later it took the Rockets 7 games and Hakeem and Chuck combined to finally stop Shawn, who did all you could ever hope for, once again. It's not about the rings only. It's how much you give it a fight. Boy, did he do that.

Is this not proof with the segment on Shaq, that the Knicks, had they won the 94 Finals they would have dissed Hakeem all time in retrospect. Hakeem wasn't even mentioned in the conversation that Shaq was projected to join by end of his career. Then Hakeem won titles in 94 and 95, and bye bye went Ewing from the convo, and Shaq never really surpassed Hakeem after that 95 0-4 sting. But I knew Hakeem was under the radar even with his gaudy all around stats and superb otherworldly defensive production and Stat stuffing. But I'm telling you, people forget the 90s gave alot of love to Ewing until he couldn't win the 94 NBA Finals. Then Hakeem stole his spot that seemed reserved like people were waiting to crown him and Hakeem sat in his throne without asking, and by 95 Hakeem locked himself in to all time royalty. And Shaq got into the conversation of the nest of the best centers anyway, but Hakeem was firmly in that conversation and was not budged by Shaqs inclusion one iota or inch.
