They performed this and so many other songs last night in NYC. I thought I was going to be okay but they appeared and I got choked up. I got to meet them ever so briefly after the show. They saw my four DC tattoos and got gasps and wide eyes. Mission Accomplished. One of the best nights of my life.

Boca is the sequel to Scream and it's also about cyberbullying and hate on the internet. They're telling people to shut their boca if all they spew is hate because it can kill. The line about angels dying refers to the Kpop Idols and actors who have been driven to suicide by hate online. Specifically Sulli who died in 2019 after being tormented and victimized online. I know that Sua, who sings that line, is close friend of Sulli's closest friend. Internet bullying is bad enough in the West, but much worse in Korea because of the culture. Being shamed online can kill you unless you're a very strong person and many entertainers are not. As Dreamcatcher have become more popular they have attracted hate comments, but they are very strong people and the seven of them have a powerful bond that protects them. Gahyeon is the most sensitive about her appearance, but Siyeon is extremely protective of her and she comes right back at haters online. That's when you see why Siyeon is called The Wolf.

I don't understand why Gahyeon is so worried about her appearance. In my opinion, she's the most beautiful member of the group, and sits with Karina and Yeji as the three most beautiful women in pop music today. People need to keep their crap to themselves. Jealous haters are terrible.

Yes, Boca means "mouth" in Spanish and Portuguese and is part 2 of the Dystopia trilogy, which deals with bullying and hate comments, in particular the online variant ("A trick behind a mask, a ridiculous freak" from Scream). Boca has the lines "Why do you fill your precious time with hate" and "Too many angels dying now", which points to the effects those comments can have. Several Kpop idols have committed suicide in recent years, most likely because of cyber-bullying, but this is also about all the unnamed people who suffer from online bullies. A girlgroup tackling such a subject impresses the hell out of me. They literally go to war in this video and tell haters to go and shut their "Boca" in the lyrics. And the song is absolutely awesome! Who said you can't have three different musical genres in one song?

You totally get the point right! Boca is really about choosing to not speak hateful things, negative things especially on internet. The part where they say "too many angels dying now" is because there's a huge statistics for suic1de caused by bullying in South Korea (including artists that were suffering from the popular judgements).

Yaaay! I am happy that you do BOCA reaction because I know you would love it. Music-wise BOCA uses a lot of new instrumental things for DC, but still has Dreamcatcher's signature as rock guitars and sick drop. Also it highlights each member's powerful vocal. I always hate it when Boca is the first DC song that people get handed (the order of production is important). BUT it is always funny when anybody thinks that SuA is a pure-souled sweetheart because of her White-Dress scenes and sweet vocals... :D

Just going to add... There's also the Hear No Evil (Scream), Speak No Evil (Boca), See No Evil (Odd Eye) aspect to the trilogy as well. The more I discovered about this trilogy (and their music in general) the more it amazed me how much thought has been put into it.

dreamcatcher \:D/ you're on the right track! boca is part of the dystopia trilogy which is their criticism of social media. boca specifically addresses online hate and how it has caused 'so many angels dying'. the dystopia trilogy may have been inspired by several very high profile singer suicides in korea just a few years prior, some of which was directly linked with negative online interactions.
