Dreamcatcher is actually one of the most accessible and relatable groups. They are completely comfortable with who they are and have no problem displaying it in the vlogs, behind the scenes and even on stage. Whereas a lot of groups are pretty buttoned up (mostly by their companies) in what they show.

And of course in their VLives. Most of the members LOVE interacting with fans! JiU is a very outgoing person and will start a Live out-of-the-blue if she is bored (her animal representation is the Rabbit). SuA is sort of the same way but she also does a lot of the 'mom' things around the dorm. She's busy much of the time taking care of 'the kids' (as the younger members are affectionately referred to). She's more like the Energizer Bunny all the time unless she's asleep (Dongie was actually scared by how STILL SuA is when she is asleep. Dongie thought SuA might have died in her sleep at one point). Siyeon loves attention, let's be real. She's Diva #1 among the group, she even out-Divas Gahyeon! So of course Siyeon would be all for it if anybody else starts a Live and she sometimes starts it herself (she calls her own fans her 'wifeys'). Han Dong is sort-of shy but she is okay with VLives (apparently if SuA is doing a VLive then Dongie is down for it). Yoohyeon has to be reminded of many things including schedules but otherwise she is down for starting a VLive at the drop of a hat. On the other hand, we get a great look at her chair because she will have forgotten SOMETHING and will abandon the camera during the live to go get whatever-it-was (her memory is even worse than mine, poor thing! At HER AGE?). But she also likes to drag other people to her Lives. There was recently a time when she decided to (gasp!) go outside the building, kind of 'sneaking out behind the manager's back'. She did that at night and dragged Dami along with her because it seemed like forever since Dami was on a Live. Dami was really just there to make sure nothing bad happened to Yoohyeon... Dami is a little bit shy (we really don't get enough of her). Her way of cooling down after performances is to chill out by herself. She loves to read way more than talk. She is a very deep thinker, called 'The Brain' of the group for very good reason. She's a very private person. I don't think I have seen a VLive started by Dami without somebody telling her that she should. Gahyeon, our bubbly volatile Diva #2; OF COURSE she loves interacting! :)

They did indeed put this together; it was actually filmed while they were promoting Scream. When they're promoting a single, they spend several weeks touring the big music shows (the Show, Show Champion, MCountdown etc). Each day they do, they're probably only actually _filming_ for a couple of hours, but they need to be at the studio pretty much all day. This gives them a *lot* of free time waiting around in green rooms. Most of the time, they can be found napping, snacking, maybe practicing relay dances, or playing games on their phones. But sometimes, Dreamcatcher get _inspired,_ and that's where things like this video come from. The whole video is an _extremely_ literal interpretation of the lyrics, which takes a fairly serious song, and turns the goofy factor up to 11! 3:55 A _massive_ shoutout has to go to *Leez* and *Ollounder* here, who almost _single-handedly_ (well... I guess _four_ handedly) produce Dreamcatcher's catalogue, although increasingly the girls have also become involved in the writing and composition too (and their latest album also had L&O bring in some of their other producer friends to help). But yeah, about 90-95% of Dreamcatcher's discography is written by those two geniuseses. But of course, they write all this stuff _with_ Dreamcatcher in mind, knowing the kind of talent and versatility that _they_ bring to the table... 7:05 That pyramid they formed? You'd think they'd put their strongest members at the bottom, and the lightest at the top, right..? Not Deukae... they decided the placement the same way they decide almost everything else... with rock-paper-scissors... 7:50 Yes, this is their hair and make-up staff headbanging with them... 10:00 I think it's safe to say that Deukae very much love doing what they do, and working with the people that they do, and they're constantly working on developing their various skills. And Dreamcatcher Company looks for all the world like a loving family; as much as they might _tell_ us that they love each other, we can _see_ it, all the time.

I might be a little biased but Dreamcatcher is one of the most "approachable when you see them" kind of idols. A big part of that is because their company kind of lets them do what they want, hence these kind of MVs. They are pretty transparent in front of the camera, but could be fierce if they are needed to. Their duality is insane, but I guess the same could be said to other groups. I love Deukae! Big shoutout to members and LEEZ and Ollounder and the whole staff.

YES! And to add to this about their approachability, DC really tries to make friends with all the other groups they end up crossing paths with during all those shows. They could make a HUGE network of just their friends who are also entertainers of some kind (obviously they each also have friends who are not in the industry at all). :)

When Dreamcatcher gets bored, magic happens. A little back story... As you might know, part of promoting songs in Korea is attending weekly music shows. A music show performance is an all day thing. They show up early in the morning and spend most of the day there. During the process there will be a few rehearsals and finally the actual performance. In spite of being there for most of a day, there might be about 30 minutes, maybe a little more, of actual show related activities. This leads to a LOT of downtime. This video, simply put, is the result of DC getting bored while waiting for their time on stage while DC was promoting Scream on various music shows.

I personally love the lyrics of dreamcatcher. It is not always on the topic of love relationship, but also love for their fans, love to life, love yourselves , be yourself, be nice and kind and so much more. Their lyrics make me feel hopeful for the future. Some of my personal favourite lyrics are tension and new day, it really hits the heart

Dystopia : The Tree of Language is truly one of a kind album. There's Scream, Sahara, the sultry rnb Red Sun, the funky bass slapping Black or White, an epic edm song In The Frozen, and out of nowhere there's the aptly titled Jazz Bar. I came (to stan Dreamcatcher) for their title tracks, but stay for their b-sides. One of my favorite Dreamcatcher's b-sides = Wind Blows. Adam, again the MVP 🤘

dreamcatcher \:D/ sahara is one of the fan favorites because it was one of the first mv/special clips that show them smiling and laughing as opposed to their more serious stoic expression in prior videos. it's also a parody of themselves as they were acting out the lyrics :D they might seem larger than life in their music videos but they are one of the most accessible groups who probably express their love for their fans more than any other bands I've encountered. they give so much fan service at their concerts that people wait in line up to 24 hours before the concert to get a barricade spot. a lot of it goes back to their history where they failed at making music that everyone expected from a kpop girl group and then deciding to start over at ground level doing things their own way. that's why a lot of their music is inspiration and contrasts the dark places people go through during their lives with hope and optimism of 'catching' one's dreams.

You always find their worldview in their title tracks, however, on b-sides like Sahara, it shows a more intimate and personal side to their lyrics. And that's beautiful. They also have a ton of experimental styles in their b-sides. On self made/budget MVs, it's a tradition of Dreamcatcher 😂 Can't wait for you to check out a full mini album (from their intros, to b-sides and to instrumental tracks). 💯👍

Dreamcatcher didn't write Sahara. It was written by their songwriter/producers LEEZ and Ollounder. Like most Kpop groups they are performers and not song writers. As they've become more popular over the last two years they've begun to have more input into the songs. Dami writes her rap parts and has written two solo songs and a short rap ballad. Jiu has written and composed 4 songs and contributed to the writing of two more. Siyeon has written and composed her two solo songs and contributed to the same two as Jiu. Yoohyeon and Gahyeon both contributed to the writing of their recent solo songs. Handong contributed to the writing of her two original solo songs. Sua contributed to the writing, composing and arrangement of her solo song No Dot. The majority of their songs were the work of LEEZ and Ollounder, and the two of them were always involved in the songs written by the members. The way they make their songs is very much a collaborative process which is shown in great detail in a documentary series they made for Wonderwall.

Thanks for bringing up the 'message' aspect of a lot of their songs. If you look at the Dystopian trilogy, and were hearing news and such a bit before it was launched, you'll find part of circumstances under which they were written; artists / actors driven to suicide by rumors and 'netizen' brigades. It really puts Sua's last bridge into perspective. Anyways, thanks for all your comments during the reaction, I've missed some humanity in music. Tool and Death were pretty much my staples, with Cynic as a trippy technical musician's band being the outlier. Pink Floyd too, but not really in the same vein.
