"Piri" is the last part of the Nightmare Arc (their Japanese release "Breaking out" can be seen as an alternative ending). In "What", the girls have been searching for Yoohyeon, and here they find each other again, but in the end they are all stuck in the white dimension. A Piri is a Korean flute that was used historically to signal danger, and that is what Yoohyeon does here when the members arrive. She is the one capturing them one by one, to rescue them and bring them to safety. They are together in the end, but still stuck. Dreamcatcher don't do happy endings. 😉

There is also an 'Alternate Ending' to the Nightmare Series, a Japanese Language track and Music Video called 'Breaking Out'. I think it really does a great job of wrapping up. It sort-of takes place at the same time as the events of 'Piri'. Since 'Breaking Out' is a Japanese release, it is also FAR more Rock/ Metal than 'Piri'. That MV can be found on the channel called Pony Canyon. :)

Things you might have missed in Piri: - a Piri is a korean flute which was used for signaling danger - We see all members getting terrorized by their nightmares (a fun tidbit is that Handong sang in a previous song "I don't want to tik tok", and here she's being terrorized by a lot of ticking clocks). - Yoohyeon realizes that her friends are in danger and (finds and) uses a piri to warn them. - With that, or after that, she (literally) pulls them out of their nightmares: The hand reaching out of the wall for Siyeon, the hand grabbing Gahyeon by the mouth, the hand coming from behind the door for Dami. - In the end we see all the girls being united again, yet still trapped in a nightmare. I like your observation about the black liquid being the same as from the mirror in Fly High. Interesting.

In the Dreamworld, a mirror is never just a mirror. Part of the fandom considers Piri as the final installment of the Nightmare series. Part of the fandom (including Sua) consider Breaking Out to be the last episode. Piri has a dark ending. The girls are together again, but still lost in darkness. The ending of Breaking Out is much more upbeat and hopeful, which is why I prefer it.

You guys had me LAUGHING out loud during this haha. Too funny!! Also i think next the best to check out would be their Game collaborations MVs. So you have 'De ja Vu' (which is just a masterpiece tbh!) And also 'Rose Blue' - MV is amazing with such a good story. Think youll really enjoy both of those :) Thanks for all the Dreamcatcher love. So korean title tracks you havent watched: -BEcause (Note: double meaning in the title, BE is capitalized because its also representing the chinese word for sadness; the plot of this one is inspired by the horror movie 'Us') -Deja Vu (this one was a game collaboration, the story is the story of the game) -R.o.S.E. Blue (another game collab, each girl is a different character from the game) I would watch those 3 first. Then maybe watch the Japanese title tracks (Breaking Out, Endless Night, Eclipse). Breaking Out is the one some fans think of as an alternative to Piri. I'd also recommend the song "No More" from the Eclipse album. After that... You should check out some B sides! My personal recommendation is all the albums, but if I have to choose: -Alone In The City Album (title track: WHAT) -The End of Nightmare (title track: Piri) -Dystopia: Tree of language (title track: Scream, their first full album) -Dystopia: Road to Utopia (title track: Odd Eye) I would recommend all three Apocalypse albums, and of course Versus: Villians too. Honorary mention goes to Summer Holiday, which has a different vibe from most of their albums... Other than the title track. If you dont listen to the whole album id try to at least listen to Whistle.

love these Dreamcatcher reactions keep it up :D also Insomnicsy has alot of personality videos you should check out cause whit Dreamcatcher you come for the good music and stay for the personalitys :D like Jiu once said "Dreamcatcher is like a black hole, once your in there is no way out"

Piri was my first DC song/MV - been hooked ever since. Seeing you guys react to it brought back some memories, especially at the scene with the dolls!

The joke was totally worth it. I have no idea what you're referring to but it was still totally worth it. Others here have already given you most of the information you need to decipher the MV so I will just add a few snippets information to expand on what others have said. Piri: If you do an internet search for 'piri' you will learn that a piri is, as mentioned by others, a traditional Korean double reeded flute. However, there's more to it than that. The Korean word 'piri' literally translates to the English word 'pipe' and is used in Korea to refer to any pipe-like wind instrument such as a reeded flute, a western horizontal flute, pan pipes or even a hollowed out animal horn. SuA once said in an interview something akin to "Yoohyeon picked up the piri...", referring to the animal horn on the chair at the beginning of the MV. You'll also notice the members mimicking the way a western flute is played. Last but not least, we repeatedly hear the high pitched, whistling sound of another form of flute. Phones, clocks and dolls: There's a sub-text to this video, much like there was in What and other videos. This time we're addressing anxiety and loneliness. Phones, clocks and dolls can all be associated with different forms of anxiety. The anxiety or fear of getting bad news via a telephone call. The passage of time that leads ultimately to death, or simply never having enough time to meet a deadline or accomplish the things you want to accomplish. Besides the outright aversion some people have to dolls there's also the loss of innocence, free time and the care free lifestyle associated with being a child. Fun Fact: This was Gahyeon's debut as a rapper. What's left? Oh, you have no idea... First, there are 2 more Korean title tracks to react to. There's Dja Vu, which many, it not most, InSomnias consider Dreamcatcher's masterpiece. There's also Rose Blue. Both of these were made in collaboration with mobile gaming companies. There both one off's, not associated with any of the other story lines or title tracks. There's the plethora of [Special Clips] available of the Dreamcatcher Official Channel. These consist of song covers, dance covers, solo songs from the members, self made videos and videos for some of their b-sides. There's even 10 episodes of their very own variety show called Dreamcatcher Mind (very much worth the watch). Also on Dreamcatcher's official channel is a ton of vlogs and personal videos from the members. Last but in no way least is the seemingly endless supply of personality and comp videos that are all over KZbin. This is where you learn just how chaotic, hilarious, humble and just generally lovely the members are. Arguably the best source for these would be Dramcatcher's official (unofficial) World Ambassador Insomnicsy. Her channel is loaded, and I mean loaded, with some of the best DC content on the internet. I strongly suggest that , at the very least, you go through Insomnicsy's "This is..." series (as in This is JiU, This is Sua, etc). Think of them as miniatures guides for each of the members. There's a total of 4 series, one each for 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023, and each series consists of one video dedicated to each member, making for a total of 28 videos. There's also one This is Dreamcatcher 2020 video as well, bringing the total up to 29. Each video is 7 minutes long. Don't panic, no one expects you to do all of them in one sitting. Just sprinkle them in as you get a chance. Seriously, you won't be disappointed. So, yeah, you'll learn that InSomnia is one of the best fed fandoms in kpop. There is soooooo such content out there for us.

Nightmare Series (almost completed) Dystopia Trilogy (Scream, Boca, Odd Eye) Apocalypse Trilogy (Maison, Vision, Bon Voyage) The rest of the Music Videos are not actually directly related to any series but they will inevitably have Easter eggs, throwbacks and homages to the series or trilogies. There is at least one Easter Egg in 'Odd Eye' that is a direct throwback to the 'ROSE Blue' MV. I think you may have figured that out, though. :)

dreamcatcher \:D/ drunken reaction? :D piri is a korean flute like instrument so blowing the piri is a way of sending an sos so they can find themselves. if you noticed in non-choreo plot driven scenes, they are always separated. breaking the mirror at the end freed them as you can see them all together in the ending scene.

For what it's worth: the Nando joke was totally worth it. 😁 There are still many good things to check out from Dreamcatcher but I don't want to overwhelm you so I'll give some suggestions a few at a time. My first suggestion, is for you to continue with some special tracks that were not part of a story line. - Deja Vu (collaboration with mobile game King's Raid. Absolute masterpiece) - BEcause (a nice summer track according to Dreamcatcher) - Reason (for the fans)

In Hangul, ㄹ is pronounced like what English speakers hear as both an L and an R, kind of like LRL but keep in mind romanization is terrible, so it gets double duty as the languages exchange words. For the successful group Red Velvet, ㄹ is both the R in red and L in velvet. Since the pronunciation begins with what English speakers hear as L, saying ㄹㄹㄹㄹㄹㄹㄹ sounds like a bunch of Ls even though ㄹ was an R in the song title.

This was my first comeback I actively waited for every new performance etc so this song has a special place in my heart ❤ Also! Gahyeon rap debut! I was blown away by that 😍 The Japanese song "Breaking Out" is an alternative ending to the nightmare series so watching/listening to it now is perfect! I hope you continue to have fun with Dreamcatcher ~

After breaking out (the japanese music video) you can watch the other 2 music videos and then you can watch their past of minx and after that there is another guide and that guide is the story of dreamcatcher and it's called dodging disbandment on the youtube ch called mera

Dreamcatcher Mind - ep.8 Nonsense Debates is my recommendation for you (we know you'll want to take a position in the nonsense topics too), ep. 5 and 10 are fan favorites, but if you feel obligated to start with ep.1 that's a good one too. Dreamcatcher x Everglow - unity? game (aka radish pulling game), kpop cover dance, or just plain Siyeon punching fruit.
