I really like the concepts the Sifa represent, they can survive on land or sea. And they welcome other clans into their lives. As I learn more about the different clans they are among my favorite.

There's something very alien about their ships, it's like Bronze Age/Viking (drakaar) ships, Oriental barques and frigates, it's just... The magic of Brian Froud.

Alright! The Sifa clan, the other half to my Si-Sprite OC that is somewhat based on me. I've said this in past comments and I'll say it over and over. My favorite part of the Sifa clan is the diversity of their members. I also like how they're so much more fluid in their concepts of family than...say, the Vapra. Sifa families form wherever they are, instead of being restricted by blood and clan lines. That's awesome to me. It's what makes Tavra and Onica such an interesting match. The rigid Vapran princess bogged down by family expectations and traditions falls in love with the more openminded and mystical Sifa Far-Dreamer who basically has leave by her clan to go where she wants and do whatever. I mean, Onica still sticks around and helps her clan, but if she chose to, she could just sail off for weeks or even a trine without looking back and no one would care much. I also like the Sifa maudra, Maudra Ethri, even though her character onscreen didn't match to the description in the YA novels. Pretty sure she was without her gem eye. I mean, how can she be known as Gem-Eyed Ethri without a gem eye? Gotta wonder how she lost it. Perhaps one of the 5 ocular castigations the Skeksis are so fond of. Anyway, loved this video. Especially the part about the charms. I've been making one up to use in my fan works but didn't realize how much significance Sifa charms actually had in Thra's canon. I decided to make the charm out of iolite because of it's history as being used as a Viking's compass and it's supposed psychic properties. I thought it was perfect for a Sifa stone used in a charm. I will also definitely be using the maudra dye on the ship and Day of the Rose Sun in my fics as well. I've already got ideas. Thanks for the video, Danny. Keep them coming, their great!
