I took the poor man approach . I removed the backseat and cut some wood stands to hold up a mattress . Then buy some Velcro curtains and your good to go and saved maybe 14k . You can always add a auxiliary tank and a tv unit far way less . I love to Hot shot . It’s great money to be made running hot shot loads . We’re on day two for Tuesday and the truck is already at 3600 and we still have 3 maybe 4 days to go before the pay cycle resets .

I see some people saying to definitely lease instead of buying. Maybe you've said before, but what advantages do you see in buying over lease?
@DreamInspired5 жыл бұрын
Buying is cheaper up front and it’s your vehicle. Add the maintenance and tires and you’re still cheaper than leasing... the issue where they say buying is better is 1, depreciation and also because after 6 months, you get a new vehicle... 6 months with buying will land you 60k in mileage and you have to keep the truck. After 6 months on a lease, you’ll pay x amount more than when buying... But when buying, 6 months in your trade is worth 10k less and you’ll have to cover to overage on your loan to get a new truck. For me, I plan to keep mine for a few years. So I’m ok with what I’m getting into.

If you wanted to do this mod on a 1500, you could. I mean I wouldn’t recommend it, but just pointing out that RoadMaster will accommodate the owners wishes. If you’re going to do this on a 3500 single cab, I’d still recommend having the longest Chassis you can buy or you will need a stretch. The reason why 4500s are usually used that they cane come long enough to where you don’t need a frame stretch.

I’ve never done big rig, but that’s the big projection for where I want this company to go. At the moment however I’m trying to figure out the best way to bring my family and live a relaxed lifestyle doing this business. This is more of a side business for me so I have a little more freedom than most but I will say that I do treat this as every other business would be treated and it gets full attention. The money that big rigs can bring in, plus the much larger opportunity set for types of loads is a huge advantage I plan on taking, but the big rig is a little harder to bring along my 1 year old as the seats in it are lacking... The 5500 gives me a little more opportunity to make things work
