The Homeworld series deserves an Animated film series. Even though the players each have such unique playthroughs, the universe is so incredibly richly detailed and always so breathtaking how they illustrate the scale & mystery of things!

Dreamlands do you think copyright wise a fan made no money making book would be legal?

Some Guy Im pretty sure it would be considered fan fiction, and it would be totally fine. Dont see why not.

Thanks for all the effort you put into this. I thought I'd read pretty much anything there was to read online about the lore, but you obviously found some nuggets I didn't. Also, the additional closeup footage is very much appreciated. (The green fields of the shallows look so out of place though; for all the games' existence I've seen it render nothing but desert :)

Glad you enjoyed it. A lot of the info in these videos comes from the Expedition Guide for DoK, which has a fair amount of lore that the other manuals dont have. The still shots are also from there. Yeah, The Shallows is a totally unique map, and I wanted something to differentiate the S'Jet section a bit more. That location is also right up in Coalition territory, so I wanted to use it for that reason also.

With Black Bird Interactive finally finishing their Mars project with NASA, I hope they finally make a new Homeworld game or at least another game like Deserts of Kharak.

hello from 2018. so in the campaign we know of 2 of the 5 sakala class carriers, one of them is the kapisi. is it known what happend to the other 3 carriers???
@curvalleirvin38676 жыл бұрын
They were destroyed at the start of the campaign, along with a few Coalition bases. Kapisi was saved because it was launched ahead of schedule

Homeworld lore reminds me of All Tomorrows, there's always such beauty and tragedy over such long stretches of time. Countless mysteries and unknowns to discover. It truly is alive in a sense.

What a nice overview - thanks man, appreciate the effort! I know it's been a while since you posted this - but well done. I aaabsolutely enjoy these lore videos =) Reminds me of another KZbinr, MrRhexx, who made lore videos about Skyrim. Fascinating stuff, but he changed a lot. Alright - stay safe and again, thx. Vastly underrated games.

@cowofschmaucasts8 жыл бұрын
It's such a close call for me (Paktu/Soban get honorable mentions) but the Manaan are awesome. The traveling circus-turned-pirates-turned scout pilots thing in their lore is excellent, but I also love that cutscene in Cataclysm when you rendezvous with their fleet to let them know about your harebrained hail mary plan to lure the Beast, and they're basically like "oh my god y'all are crazy...but you're OUR kind of crazy!" The way the voice actor plays it you can hear the respect. xD

Thanks for the lore lesson, playing the campaign will mean a lot more to me now! Hey, can you (or anyone) recommend a good strategy video? I'm usually great at RTS games (Supreme Commander, Age of Empires, etc) but can't seem to get the hang of this one, can't even beat 1 AI on normal skirmish right now :(
@Dreamlands157 жыл бұрын
Lewis Morgan Yeah Ive got an entire playlist of guide videos :) Ones for skirmish as each faction, as well as a couple of very basic build orders to start with for beginners :) You can also check out multiplayer commentaries on this channel, as well as Majiir Paktu, Coercer, Magpie 843, and Tren. Hope that helps. Glad you enjoyed the lore!:D

So there was a gradual loss of technology after landfall on Kharak, followed by a sudden sharp decline from the heresy wars that threatened to throw them back to their version of the neolithic. The writers of the Homeworld series really did their archeology homework because that's exactly how it works. The Roman Empire didn't just "fall" one day immediately leading to the dark ages. It was a gradual process finalized in 535AD when what was most likely a massive supervolcano erupted and did terrible damage to agriculture worldwide

@toddkes58902 жыл бұрын
At the end of the campaign the Gaalsien forces have lost their primary carrier and spiritual leader, so have likely fragmented with all the smaller leaders trying to get power for themselves. You also have the Gaalsien people having a crisis of faith as the Coalition was abler to go against the will of Sajuuk, so they are questioning their leaders. The Coalition can use the availability of resources and lack of Gaalsien raiders to set up extraction sites in the deserts, grabbing the high-tech materials to help bootstrap their orbital capabilities and build the Mothership. The Khaaneph will likely remain a dangerous threat, though a few of them might choose to help out in the Mothership project so their children (as fertilized eggs) can live on. From there, play the game 'Homeworld' to find out the next part of their story.

So if the Siidim are the military arm does that mean they work in tandem with Kiith Soban?

It would depend on the operation i guess. Sobsn being mercenaries, if they were hired for a particular mission, they would.
