I’m not aloud to keep a phone next to my bed so to remember my dreams before I get to my phone I just go over my dream in the morning. I just go over my dream in my mind and try to recall the most important things and go over them a few times. That’s how I remember my dreams long enough to be able to write them down on my phone.

So, I know that I'm late but here is my techique: When I can remember my dreams I briefly note them down on a piece of paper to write them down later. I chose paper books as my medium to write short stories with a few drawn pictures of the main element. I also have more than one dream per night, so I number them in each entry and than choose a title by the events of the "better" dream. Because I dont write them down immediately, I note two dates (one of the day I was dreaming and the one I noted them). As the final step I color the title in either red, green, or gray (nightmare, favorite dream, normal dream), and than sort it in a list with the page number.

I just started a dream journal, not because I want to lucid dream or anything (in fact I think I wouldn't want that) but because I often forget my dreams and I wanted to record them. So what I did was I wrote down every dream I ever had that I remembered. There is, at the time of me writing this, 15 dreams in total. The earliest one was from when I was less then ten years old and the latest was like a week ago. They are very strange, which is what inspired me to want to record them.

I have been recording my dreams off and on since 1987 when I was 16. At that time, I only wrote them down for 2 weeks. I then took it up again in 1999 with my first dream journal notebook and then with my second book a couple years later. I then switched to micro audio cassettes before switching back to a notebook from 2018 until present. I consider theses journals more valuable to me than my waking life journals, probably because dreams can be more elusive, sleeping through your fingers like sand seconds after I awake. But then a sound, smell, sight, etc...I experience later on that day sends the dreams flooding back into my memory for me to record any way possible. Sometimes, I find small strips of paper with a date on it followed by a dream, probably when I didn't have my dream journal with me. I need to record these properly.

Came here after having some odd dreams. Sometimes, whether the dream is good, bad or something in the middle, it almost always felt like "what just happened and why did that happened". In the end, it makes me chuckle or laugh at myself to think that my head is just all over having neat dreams. Sometimes the story of them dreams are quite unique. I've already been keeping a dream journal sorta in like a way if me explaining a story to like little kids. I may add events in () as the event aren't very clear and also some times is neat to add thoughts to it as if you're constructing the story to your own understanding.

I just started writing a dream journal as some of my dreams actually have a very deep / cool stories, from a black hole opening on a school trip and every body realizing they're going to die, to dreams about adventures or some kind of super powers and love stories. Dreams are basically the most interesting thing you can experience as it allows you to feel like a main character in a story made up of things in your own life. One thing I've noticed about my dreams is they are often emotional with periods where I feel extreme emotions, often to the point of tears.

Psychedelics bring dreams (or the subconscious reality) into consciousness and allow heightened lucidity in subsequent dreams and in waking life, are more memorable if written down and without oneirogens; I think they may surpass dreams in competition for the most interesting conscious experience which can be experienced most similarly by all participants, though they are not entirely disconnected, dreams and the psychedelic experience, I mean - the real magic or greatness in both of these and any discipline which encourages conscious recognition of unconscious experience I believe is extraction of previously unknown information from the unconsciousness into the conscious mind, recognition of unregistered trauma, symbolic metaphorism & allegorical understanding, pattern recognition, archetypal character(istic)s, and the cyclical process of all reality, which all know but some keep deep down and do not speak. I've been thinking of an idea for what to do with dream journals, bar extracting information about the human mind and it's evolution in life and through history, experiments, and making a vault of mine and other's experiences and similarities in experience, compiling deduced information, experiments and theories into one public webspace or something like that, any ideas? Also a note about the emotional comment; one thing realised and tinkered around with in my experiences is the fact that like in what we call 'physicality', more emotional experiences are more memorable, in dreams it is the same, the more emotionally charged a dream is, the more memorable it is, and this is variable for each individual, as people have different emotional triggers due to variation in experience. Much love, dreamer.

I have a small note pad that I have next to my pillow. I have recorded 4 times this week, so far the most I've written yet. I want to use the journal to look inside my unconscious because it's interesting. Also I want to attempt skateboarding in a lucid dream one day. I used to have alot of anxiety and it would effect my dreams. I still do, maybe this will help understand it.

When I was a kid I always had a dream about a chucky doll,(s) chasing me all around a store like Costco. Knife in hand. They all break out of their boxes like in a toy story movie. Then I am trapped in a car with my mom. The glass on all windows keeps getting hammered, but never breaks. Then I wake up. I dreamt that many (maybe 10) times and decided that the next time I will wake up. Middle school I learned how to wake up out of dreams.

I’ve seen some of your videos and believe you can assist this. I wonder if you have a technique on making your own personal online dictionary. I have a lot of words saved in my drive notes and on paper, however I haven’t yet found how to digitally record them. Especially while avoiding the mistake of repeating words and getting it in alphabetical order. Seeing the type of videos you teach in, I wonder if you have a solution or idea you have that could potentially work Ha I know this comment isn’t related to the video but I’m commenting in the spur of the moment
@Dreamlet3 жыл бұрын
Hey Tom, if I were trying to come up with my own online dictionary, I would do it in Google Sheets probably. You can create a field for the word itself and then another field for the definition. There are ways to filter by alphabetical order for a column to make sure you don't repeat words. It's also pretty easy to customize google sheets and make it look the way you want.

Hello how are you? I hope you are doing well and I wish you all the best! I've been writing my dreams since last week so I'm facing the issue of forgetting dreams but the thing that bothers me is that I can literally remember the dreams that I forget as soon as I wake up then in just few seconds or within 1 minute My mind doesn't want me to remember any of it! So is it okay to write down the dreams as much as I remember? I'll be very thankful to you if you reply 💙
@yourdad5872 жыл бұрын
The more you write it down and more consistent you are in writing it down, the more and longer you will remember, keep the notebook or papers next to your bed. After a while you can experiment with stuff like oneirogens or putting the papers very gradually further away from you may assist in remembering dreams longer or increased recall of dream experiences

Please don’t lie, and it’s okay if you don’t. But I was curious if you found that keeping track of your dreams has helped you lucid dream?
@Dreamlet4 жыл бұрын
Interesting preface for your question. I don't see why I would lie. I believe I explained that I got my first lucid dream after becoming interested in actually wanting a lucid dream. Being able to remember your lucid dream means that you actually know if you went lucid. Without that, you could have a lucid dream and not even remember it when you wake up. So remembering your dreams by writing it down or talking about it is necessary in my opinion. So yes, it has helped me with my lucid dreaming for sure. No exaggeration, I remember every night's dreams after I wake up.
