Dreams and Synchronicities: How To Know If a Deity Is Calling You

The Gods have many different ways that They can work to get our attention, synchronicities and dreams being the most common. Now if you are unfamiliar with synchronicity, I’ll explain. A synchronicity is a seemingly coincidental event that turns out not to be a coincidence. So if you have a particular Deity that is trying to reach out to you, perhaps you start to see crows everywhere. You see crows while you’re walking down the street, and they are cawing at you and seem to be talking to you. Then you start seeing them online. Then a friend mentions crows to you in passing, and the sudden and sheer ubiquity of crows becomes more than can be accounted for by coincidence, then maybe you are being called by a Deity whose totem animal is the crow. Especially then if you start dreaming about crows, and a particular Deity starts to appear to you in dreams.
Early in my journey in Witchcraft, I read Book of Shadows, by Phyllis Curott. In it she talks about how she started having dreams about the Goddess Isis and eventually was Called by Isis and started following Her. When I first read this book, I was skeptical. It wasn’t until years later that something similar started happening to me.
I had a dream in which I was standing in near total darkness. I was out on the back deck of some house, far out in the country away from any city light pollution. I was looking up at the moonless sky. I had a sense of the house behind me, and that I had passed through a sliding glass door to get to the deck, but all I could really make out were the faint outlines of the deck railing in front of me, and the beginnings of a wood at the edge of the backyard over which I was standing.
As I continued to look in the direction of the shadowed wood in front of me, an orange light started streaking across the sky. It was as if some celestial archer was shooting a flaming arrow across the bowl of the sky, from one end to the other. It continued to happen repeatedly for the next few minutes, then as I continued to watch, the sun began to rise over the tree tops, growing out of the exact spot from which the arrows had come. And yet, the sky remained the black of darkest night. It didn’t brighten into the familiar blue that I would’ve expected. Instead, the sky, and all the tress and everything remained in near total darkness. As the orb of the sun cleared the tree tops, it began to move sideways over them. Then in an unnatural manner, it made several loops back on itself, and then shot off across the sky and disappeared from view, just as the flaming arrows had. The words that come to mind to describe how I felt in that moment are terror and awe. I remember thinking to myself, “That’s not natural!” Then suddenly, with a deep intake of break I sat up in bed, wide awake! I had witnessed a celestial event, a sacred moment, an impossible thing. I was also certain that I had had a Visitation, and that the Deity in question had been Apollo, Bless His Wisdom.
The next day, while meditating in front of my altar, I tried to reach out to Apollo, but very much got the cold shoulder from Him. It was as if His response was, “Why are you even talking to me?” This confused and discouraged me, and I honestly I didn’t pursue it further at the time.
Then over a year later, I had another Dream. In this Dream, friends and I were traveling together, and we had just arrived at what felt like a comfortable, ancient family home somewhere in the Mediterranean (Greece perhaps?). We were being hosted by a family, and I was left alone in the their library while they made the final preparations to get our rooms ready for us. The room felt old, well-lived-in, and well-loved. Midday sunlight streamed through large, floor-to-ceiling windows. The room was filled with books, and old furniture, and nick-rnacks, and such. To my right, at one end, was a raised, comfortable-looking reading area with cushy chairs, sofas and a table.
As I wandered the room, curious to see what I might find in the stacks, I heard a noise behind me, as if something had fallen onto the floor. I turned to look, and there was a small, brown, leather-bound book just sitting in the middle of the floor. I wondered to myself where it had fallen from, as there were no shelves or tables anywhere near it. I walked over to take a closer look, and noticed that the cover was richly embossed in gold lettering, though I couldn’t in the slightest make out what it said.
As I was staring at the book, it opened of it’s own accord, and the pages started turning rapidly by themselves, until they suddenly stopped on a page near the middle. Written vertically on the page, in blaz...

Deities don't just call on anyone, so there must be something about you that He favors. He wouldn't have tried to make contact unless you were ready. In my experience, particular Gods reach out to us because we are like them in some way. I think Apollo is calling to me right now through my dreams!! I've been considering paganism for a couple of months now, and I only just started doing some research last night before bed. It might just be a coincidence, but I had a few dreams last night that made me think Apollo was calling to me. I'm starting to think even more so, since I dreamt of a forest cabin that was just like the one from your dream. Although my dream was during the day, and it was also autumn. I think he's trying to tell me that I'm ready for him to be in my life. I've always admired him, and I believe he's right.

When I first called goddess I saw bright red eyes, a fairy came to me, I see three crows, I have gifts and I’m into paranormal and a light came out of sky and went into my chest. I can communicate with dead.....red is my power color. I had so many things happen to me. I just bought a Hecate statute I feel it’s her.

It's always interesting to me when I see videos like this about connecting with gods. Music and art are my hobbies and I feel at peace when I do both. I want so badly to pursue a career in art but for now I'm stuck at a job I think is boring. I repeatedly keep thinking about art and how I should be doing that. Maybe this is Apollo's way of communicating with me to just pursue my passion and don't look back. I really don't know since I've never had experience with a deity on that kind of level.

Thanks for the comment, Nico! I totally understand your position. It’s hard being stuck between the ‘practical’ considerations of maintaining your job, and on the other hand feeling the call of your heart, and the expression of your creativity. I’ve totally been there! What ways can you pursue your passions, while at the same time supporting yourself until you can fully transition into a career in art? This could very well be a ‘nudge’ from Apollo in the direction of your art. He can sometimes be very subtle. One of the best ways that I have found to get clarity is to get myself into a quiet meditative state and ask Him. Just last week I had a dream in which I was taken into a cave filled with cats and decorated with Tibetan thangkas and curios. The "living room" section of the cave was laid out like a traditional Tibetan Gonpa with two seating sections on either side of an aisle leading up to the main altar. There was a redheaded, female teacher of divine aspect who was giving a lesson and empowerment during the less active part of my dream. After we had shared the communal meal following the lesson, I was approached by small people, almost like babies but smaller than even a human baby who asked for my care non-verbally. After feeding and comforting these sprites, I was circled by a red dog and a white dog. The white dog jumped up and greeted me enthusiastically, while the red dog remained in the background. Dozens of cats milled around as I continued to explore the various chambers of the cavern.

@@darkwintermoon It does actually. I am a Buddhist, though of the Theravada variety. I have been devoted to Apollo for a long time as well. Though just recently I have had a murder of crows following and dwelling around my workplace especially recently. I have also rekindled a relationship with someone who is a devotee of the Morrigan, and when I told them about the cave, they immediately referred me to the lore surrounding Oweynagat in Ireland. The elfin aspects of the dream also seemed in my mind to resonate with Elizabethan descriptions of the Fairy Queene, and Queen Mab is a bastardization of Queen Medb of Connacht, whose royal seat is in Rathcroghan, which is near the Cave of Cats.

@@Countcordeaux Very interesting! Seems like you have a lot of information available to you and coming to you that will help you to explore your dream. I'm not familiar with Theravada. My first experiences with meditation were heavily influenced by buddhism. I have long respected its practices, and have incorporated the mindfulness aspects into my own practice. Crows, as you may know, are also sacred to Apollo, though the dream does strike me more as having the flavor of the Morrigan. Seems like the Cave of Cats info you received from your acquaintance is very apropos as well. I value meeting different aspects of our diverse community, and am especially keen to connect with other followers of Apollo. I haven't met many of us. 😊

I think a deity (or at least some sort of energy). When I'm awake sometimes i realize that my eyes are looking at weights, gym stuff, gardening stuff and black/white color schemes. But when i sleep, i dream about closed spaces, such as libraries, taverns, labs, antiquity stores and places like that. There are also about books, tons of books. And sometimes there's this feeling (or i don't know how to call it) that i must guide someone specific . But i don't know what to do

Interesting! My feeling is that you should meditate and try to take yourself back to one of the libraries or other places from your dreams. I think that you may find Someone there waiting on you, or at the very least a clue.

I was staying at a friends house and got up to use the toilet late at night after everyone was asleep. Getting ready to leave the room I heard music. I tried to figure out where it was coming from - the kids rooms upstairs? No. Inside the house? No. I opened the window and heard not just music but the sound of a strong wind, but there was no breeze at all. None of the vegetation was moving. The music continued along with the wind - it sounded like sittar music. Finally, I went back to bed, unable to figure it out. A few days later, after mulling it over by myself, I mentioned what happened to everyone. One of my friends said it sounded like Sarasvati. I read up about her, but never went any further because I couldn't see why She would be interested in me. It was interesting.

Mia Tolliver Very cool! I have had passing experiences with other deities. Sometimes I think They might just be saying Their version of hello, or otherwise checking us out. I think sometimes the Call of Deity starts out as a seed, and then we always have the opportunity to decide whether or now we want to plant that seed and see if it grows. Sometimes it’s a matter of seeing if things fit together.

A couple of days ago i saw a card reading and they were talking about how some deity might want to work with me and i thought about a couple but wasn’t sure, then a day later i woke at like 3 am and i SWEAR i heard “athena” in my ear keep in mind i was still half asleep and as soon as i heard the name i got so confused cause (even tho i’ve always admired her) i feel like i’m not smart enough for her to contact me? So as soon as i went “are you sure? Why me?” I heard a ringing in my ear. V. that is a powerful Good Omen! You were half a sleep. When you are in that state between sleeping and waking, you are more open to receiving messages from the Gods. The fact that it happened at 3am, the Witching Hour, is also another sign that this was more than just your imagination. 3am is a powerful time for the Gods to reach out to us too! The ringing is a sign to pay attention. My recommendation would be for you to find some time alone, get quiet, and meditate, and ask Athena to reveal to you what She wants from you. Trust yourself and your experience. If Athena didn't think that you were worthy, She wouldn't have tried to make contact with you. 😊

Okay so I’ve had a few Hindu gods come to me in my meditation I never called these entities I’ve seen Hannuman , sai , Aruna and Odin and Freya. I work with Odin and Freya now. I’m also going start working with Lakshmi. As soon as I started calling out to Odin yes I’ve seen crows cawing at me I’ve also seen weird bugs I’ve never seen before this one time a huge black beetle that we don’t have in this city so that was strange. I know Odin is a shapeshifter he has also helped me with healing.

My only similar experience of a Hindu Deity was Kali, also during meditation. As it turned out, She was just there to give me a singular message, and then She moved on. Lol. Last year, I saw the deity Horus in my dream. He showed himself hanging from a plane like a puppet, he was about the same size as an airlines 727 plane. Of course I got scared and tried to run, but there he was AGAIN as if he teleported in front of me and I got scared once AGAIN, because I felt I couldn’t escape his presence in the dream. Fast forward to present time, I see this show “Moon Knight” on Disney plus. Now, I only saw the trailer on KZbin and I was thinking “Hmm, this could be a good show to watch.”, only to find out later in the show I hear and saw Horus in the show. Another thing I wanted to mention is I kept seeing 11:11, I don’t know I’m not sure if it’s a sign. I had no interest in Horus or working with deities, but I feel that this one was trying to approach me for some reason, and in different ways trying to communicate to me. Thank you for this video! 😁

Hi, Veronica! Thanks for the comment and for watching! This is one version of what is called the Sun in Glory, and this one in particular is Apollo. It's from the Apollo Salon in Versailles which was commissioned to be built by Louis XIV of France. He was called the Sun King, and felt himself strongly associated with Apollo. I would definitely say this was a sign for you from Apollo.

Throughout my whole life within my dreams I'd see alot of sun deity symbology and it could just be something really typical, like for example - I could be in a sub urban town and I'd see a sun god head smiling as apart of the architecture of a train station, and the same glowing sigils at times.

@@darkwintermoon Not that I know of architecture wise but the sun will shine specifically in my direction at times only when I'm cold and instantaneously when I wish the sun was over me, sometimes I may need it for flattening my hair easier by using a hat and of course the heat that I needed, also happens interestingly on days when the weather was reported to be anything but sunny, the sun seems almost golden when it shines on me, unlike on other people and really beautiful instances when I go for walks animals will follow me and the grass will be super green and there will be yellowish clouds but the next day it's almost like the grass was never alive.

I know this is an old video, but I'm looking for answers. I had a dream of The Morrigan telling me in a dream that Hephaestus wants to work with me. But I have no idea to go about it as I was raised a Christian and mostly just follow God, but I'm open minded. And seeing this video popped up in my feed I thought I'd comment. Hey there! No worries. I'm still getting comments and questions on this vid all the time. 😊 I would recommend starting out by choosing a time where you can really get quiet and meditate, and try to make contact with Hephaestus by asking Him what he would like for you to do in order to follow Him. I would also set up an Altar or small place dedicated to Him. This could be a small table, a bookshelf, or other small, flat space. Cover it with a cloth that you feel corresponds to Him, and place things on it that represent Him. Unfortunately I don't know specifics about what Hephaestus likes, as I haven't had any dealings with Him directly. Oddly enough, a friend of mine that also follows Apollo, also has a passing acquaintance with Hephaestus, and Hephaestus told him to tell me hi. Lol. Maybe Hephaestus prefers to start out by sending His messages through others, as you have been contacted by Him through the Morrigan. But I digress. I would try the meditation and the altar and see what happens. Often the Gods will give us minor clues that will lead us to next steps with Them, so don't give up. If you don't have much experience meditating, I'll link a video below of my favorite mediation, and also one on setting up an altar. And please, let me know how it turns out. 😉💖

Thanks for the comment, Conrad! Yes. I believe this is true, and also that at the same time the Gods are distinct Beings. In many cases they are older, and wiser than we are, having been around longer, and also having a broader perspective. Just as I might partner with a parent, or respected elder for their unique wisdom and insight, based on their longer life-experience, and unique perspective, I also may partner with Deity, because of their wisdom and unique perspective. We are all (Gods, humans, plants, animals, spirits, etc.) part of the Divine Universal Consciousness, and yet we are all also distinct beings. My experience in working with Apollo, and most other Deities, has never been a matter of giving away my own power, but instead has only helped me to grow. In fact, I am constantly challenged by Apollo to grow, and seek out my own personal Power, and he has always shared His wisdom and insights in order to help me to do so.

8:00 I had a similar event happen to me, called top down Kundalini awakening. My body got filled up with golden light from the top of my head slowly until it encompassed the entire body. At the same time there was loud sound in my head and my every cell vibrated. Lasted about a minute. Took place after I decided to go ahead and divorce. And after that event I slowly found out who I am and my mission and previous lifetimes and achievements. And now I know my future until 2030. My kids saw the future as well in dream and if I ask about it I think they are literally downloading the answers for me then and there. To kick start the alchemy path, I recommend upgrading the body's molecular structure with Marina Jacobi detox protocol on youtube and at least 2 hours intensive exercise a day...

I was on a roller coaster today and I was arguing with my sister whether we should take row 3 or 2 she said 2 I said 3. An operator came and said we had to sit at row 2, she laughed at me but then a random thought came and I said it and it was “we could’ve lived if we’d picked row 3” she didn’t take me seriously and nether did myself. The girl’s behind us (row 3) said the seats were too tight and then the ride malfunctioned. 20 mins later they made us get off the ride, my theory is that if girls didn’t complain. During the ride everyone else’s seats holders would malfunction and go up while the girls would be stuck in there seats because the holders were too tight, I’ve also been seeing frogs lately so idk what’s going on

Hi, Amy! Thanks again for commenting and fro your question! In my experience, Deities use synchronicities in general to find and connect with people, other people included. So, for instance, if you keep running into the same person over and over again, seeming at random, and you immediately think of Apollo, Bless HIs Wisdom, or maybe you keep running into the person, and you start to notice that there's always a sun symbol present, etc. Does that make since? I’ve experienced this too! (or a portion of it, to be more accurate). If someone I know falls ill, I’m able to check in on them, and know if they are going to survive or not. It feels like to me that Apollo is with me in these moments. Then I also know what kind of healing energy to send their way. It’s a powerful Gift you have to be able to know that!

Hey I heard knocking in my dream as scary things were happening and said that only bast/Bastet could come in. Then the knocking stopped, and when I tried to call out to Bastet the demonic entity freaked out. It’s important to mention that yesterday I casted an evil banishment spell with my cauldron. Wow! That’s some powerful stuff, Lauren! In my experience Bastet is a very powerful Goddess when dealing with, and fighting away demons, or dark forces. And they are afraid of Her! It sounds like She came to your aid. That’s so cool! Cats appearing like they did at your aunt’s, seemingly out of nowhere, especially if they seem drawn to you is another powerful indication of Bastet’s presence. Seems to me that She has taken a liking to you. The question is, what do you want to do next? Also… I would definitely get some sage, or other incense that resonates with you, and perhaps cleanse your Cauldron and space with it. I would focus on keeping only the energies that you want, and that feel good to you around you, and cleansing away anything that doesn’t serve to benefit your highest good. Sounds like there’s already a lot of great energy in the cauldron, and we also want to make sure that there aren’t other energies there that you don’t want. This also ensures that you start to connect with your Cauldron on a Magical or energetic level. And no worries about long messages. Hi! I want to start by saying that this video was very helpful! I have a few questions about deities. i’m not a witch, and i prefer not to label myself, and while i’ve done a bit of research on witchcraft, i’m not sure if it’s something that calls out to me right now. i’m also not religious, but deities and communicating with them has always seemed like something i was very interested in and it calls out to me. so do i have to be religious or a witch to connect with a deity? I also worry that I won’t be able to give enough to them as i’m struggling with my motivation for almost everything right now. i just don’t want to disappoint them. i also have heard from others that in order to connect with a deity safely, spiritual protection is necessary. i’m not really one to cast spells or anything and protection magic itself isn’t something that calls out to me all that much either, so would you say it’s necessary to have some sort of protection up? in the past without much research i’ve attempted to leave offerings for certain deities i felt could’ve been calling out to me through specific signs i asked for, but at the time i was in a very stressed state and wasn’t ready, and had to stop. i tried to tell them as respectfully as i could but i am still worried that they could be angry with me, and so for a while i distanced myself from anything related to this topic until recently when i had a dream about a woman who was floating, in all green clothing and had brown hair, meeting my cousin and i in a library at my grandfathers cottage (there isn’t a library in the cottage though,) a woman dressed in white who was also floating brought my cousin up to her on what looked like just pure light and gave her what i think is a tarot or orac e deck. the floating woman in all green brought me up on vines and handed me a book or a tarot/oracle deck with a young girl and a white butterfly in front of her.to the woman who gave it me was very beautiful and was glowing, i was grateful to have met her. i’m not sure if it was a deity, maybe it could’ve been a spirit guide, but overall i guess i just have a lot of questions. regardless, i’m grateful for this video as deities are something i really find amazing. thank you.

Hi, Isabella! Thank you so much for your comment and questions. Sorry it’s taken me so long to get back to you. I’ve been camping for a long weekend with limited internet access. To answer your first question: No. You don’t have to be religious or a Witch to connect with a Deity at all, though connecting with a Deity could eventually lead to either or both. Most Deities aren’t going to be angry or upset with you for not answering Their Call, unless you have already formed a committed relationship with Them, and have already agreed to certain obligations with them. The best analogy I have for the process of finding a Deity and forgoing a relationship with them is human dating. Sometimes you find someone, and you know after the first date that you’re not a match. Sometimes you know immediately that you are a match, and you move forward. Often times there’s a back and forth dance between the parties of them trying to connect, and this goes on for awhile before they get on the same page. Ultimately it’s up to you to negotiate the terms and conditions and boundaries of your relationship with any Deity that reaches out to you. You can always say no to Them, or change your mind, or decide you’re not ready.

I really don’t feel like protection Magic is necessary with most Deities, and if it doesn’t resonate with you, then that’s probably the biggest case for not using it. The only caveat I will give you is to just be aware. Trust how you feel when you contact Deity. If at that point it feels like you need protection Magic, then I would look into employing some.

As far as your Dream: seems really intense, and I would definitely say it’s Deity-related. As for which Deity, not sure about that. I experienced Apollo's aloofness when I first approached Him. I feel that this is partially a factor of Him trying to determine if I was really serious about working with Him. In some ways, He's just like everyone else, and I'm sure that He gets a lot of flakes petitioning Him. The aloofness is one of the barriers that He puts in place to make sure that we are serious about pursuing a relationship with Him. Hope this helps.

I had a dream where I was a mermaid talking to Poseidon 👁️👄👁️

That sounds amazing! Can you remember any details, things that stood out to you, and/or intense feelings and emotions? All the above are clues that it was a visitation. How do you feel about your dream and what does it mean to you?

@@darkwintermoon I was happy, and felt really comforted, but I was also really confused. I remember my boyfriend was there too, and we swam up to Poseidon, where he smiled and welcomed us. He didn't say much, just how it was nice to see us. Then out of nowhere, we saw blood, and we swam away as fast as possible, while Poseidon kept calling for us to come back, saying that we would still be safe

@@stronger_together3632 Wow! That sounds really intense and vivid! I defiantly know how you feel! I felt the same way. When the Gods reach out to us, especially the first time, it can be very confusing .Great that you had the feeling of calm, that’s a great sign. Was there anything else associated with the blood in the water? My guess is that the blood was just a result of being in Poseidon’s Realm. Blood in the water is part of His nature and the nature of life in the ocean. And He called you back too.

I do always felt that I'm a god like I have existed for thousands of years and it seems like my memories of the past is hidden somewhere I can't remember anything I have saw myself dressed in a ancient army clothes riding a horse in the sky like god of war

@@darkwintermoon and I have tried to explain things to people but it's like I'm not making any sense to them, they were like how can you be a god they're too religious they kinda maybe seeing me as one of the falling Angels Right now I'm very confused I need to know who IAM I personally know that I'm different from other people
