Iris Bright I'm with you. Every instrument on this song speaks to me. It's haunting, melodic, and bittersweet but still has the jam that brings it all together. Alway been my favorite of the band. Incomparable is the only word I can think of to describe this song even though music is an expression which is completely subjective. Very special group that's for sure. :)

I'm not even see it's the focus that makes it great I think it's the effortless line of expressive lines that rival those layed down years also by the great Duane Allman

Bill hoffman Rajan, my Brother. You nailed it on the head. Derek's dad was Butch, one of the two drummers for the Fillmore Easr Band, circa 1970. That band was heaven. They played in ATL's Piedmont often to huge laid back crowds, and would play for hours. Derek picked up the rhythms of Duane. Dickie Betts was a very different stylist on guitar, but it worked; Dickie and Duane were the Yin and the Yang of rock They complemented each other. I don't Buddha himself could explains the vast complexities if the Karma which that band together on the stage the Fillmore at the perfect. My original vinyl was destroyed just a few years ago. I had a smallish, yet superb collection of vinyl which I lost just a few years ago. I'll be in the spring. So what all you know about these guys, but this band is extremely well documented. I bet I have 100 friends and aquaintances who know far maore about the Bros than I do. Oh, major point: the Fillmore East music was mixed in a van with a bunch of garage sale equipment, but it produced the original vinyl. It's still my favorite source. He hear all the squeaks and squaks from backstage, on stage and the audience, but each time they launched into another song, the crowd fell silent, and all you can hear is the music. I've got the re-mixed and re-mastered Special Release, and it well worth owning. It's terribly interesting and electronically perfect, but it's a little lost in translation. Keep the Faith

I still weep when watching this again. With joy for those guys to get a second chance in life to play that song with some crazy Duane reincarnation in Derek. Not sure there will ever be another voice with the soul, emotion and feeling of the blues, that Greg Allman can wring out of one of his own tunes. The band was cooking on all levels this night.
