One of the best songs ever composed, I love everything about it, drums, bass, lead guitar and vocals seamlessly fused and flowing in resonant perfection! I think Mozart would cry tears of soulful joy.

Iris Bright I'm with you. Every instrument on this song speaks to me. It's haunting, melodic, and bittersweet but still has the jam that brings it all together. Alway been my favorite of the band. Incomparable is the only word I can think of to describe this song even though music is an expression which is completely subjective. Very special group that's for sure. :)

Bill hoffman Rajan, my Brother. You nailed it on the head. Derek's dad was Butch, one of the two drummers for the Fillmore Easr Band, circa 1970. That band was heaven. They played in ATL's Piedmont often to huge laid back crowds, and would play for hours. Derek picked up the rhythms of Duane. Dickie Betts was a very different stylist on guitar, but it worked; Dickie and Duane were the Yin and the Yang of rock They complemented each other. I don't Buddha himself could explains the vast complexities if the Karma which that band together on the stage the Fillmore at the perfect. My original vinyl was destroyed just a few years ago. I had a smallish, yet superb collection of vinyl which I lost just a few years ago. I'll be in the spring. So what all you know about these guys, but this band is extremely well documented. I bet I have 100 friends and aquaintances who know far maore about the Bros than I do. Oh, major point: the Fillmore East music was mixed in a van with a bunch of garage sale equipment, but it produced the original vinyl. It's still my favorite source. He hear all the squeaks and squaks from backstage, on stage and the audience, but each time they launched into another song, the crowd fell silent, and all you can hear is the music. I've got the re-mixed and re-mastered Special Release, and it well worth owning. It's terribly interesting and electronically perfect, but it's a little lost in translation. Keep the Faith

I still weep when watching this again. With joy for those guys to get a second chance in life to play that song with some crazy Duane reincarnation in Derek. I thought it was impossible for another person to recapture Duane’s ferocious melodic style but Derek pulls it off and that band soars into the heavens once again after so many years of missing it’s essential sound! (Though they were still awesome live without Duane)

Not sure there will ever be another voice with the soul, emotion and feeling of the blues, that Greg Allman can wring out of one of his own tunes. The band was cooking on all levels this night. I love Warren's playing but leaving this song all to the mastery of Derek Trucks just seems right. And it's good to watch Uncle Butch at work again as well. RIP Butch Trucks and Greg Allman🙏. Perhaps my biggest musical regret was never getting to see these guys do their thing live. My God what a performance of one of their finest songs. I couldn't love this more if I tried. Gregg's soul is on full display here. But Derek's guitar solo is masterful. His style is equal parts Duane Allman (obviously) and John Coltrane.

Was there at Filmore East that magical, mystical evening (actually a few evenings) and heard a couple versions of this song. Derek plays a Gibson SG but sounds so much like Duane. I will always be eternally grateful for Brother Duane and Derek to show me what would have been. Play on Brothers!

These guys are flat-out BRING IT onstage the best way possible and with their personalities and talents overlaying the greatness that Duane and Dicky laid before them. Those ol' boys laid the trail but the road goes ever onward... These two lads and Oteil have made ABB as real as ever and those songs LIVE again.

I think I've seen Warren more than any other gtr player too..somewhere round 100 times over the years..between The Allmans, Mule, The power jams, The Dead, Phil Lesh and friends(The Q), along with all the times I've seen him sit in with other bands like Soulive and more.
