Dr. Ekberg, deserves a Platinum Medal for his channel. I've done personal research on health and fitness for over 30 years. Not only does he know what he is talking about down to the little details, he connects the dots and adds the missing parts that are needed in order for one to understand the big picture. In addition, his empathetic and well prepared delivery of such complicated information makes for a much easier assimilation of the knowledge. Outstanding!

Dr Ekberg..... thank you....I have been listening to you for 4 years . I went through a breaast cancer journey. Did everything you said to do and I listen to your directions. I am a Melanesian afro islander and I have realised the western diet has been detrimental to my health. I am now back to island food fruit vegetables yams taro lots of greens , less white rice less sugar no milk. Thank you so much for your wisdom. I am still alive . I have gone from a size 87kg to 74 kgs over 4 months and have less asthma attacks and don't feel bloated or flushed. The fasting was key. I started taking out the snacks, I took out sugar, I swapped pasta white rice with salad yam or lots greens. I then went from 3 meals to 2x breakfast and dinner. During the day I have water. I now walk around the block 3x times aweek and on Sundays my daughter rides her bike and I walk back and forth around a court.... Thank you so much . Your wisdom and knowledge are amasing. I used to be very physically active. I would ride my bike (for work) about 100 miles a week. I didn't overeat either or eat junk food. That being said, life caught up to me, I changed jobs and it was more of a sedentary job, so I gained weight - I started emotional eating when I was 9 years old, so I gain weight easily. In 2019 I was getting back to being somewhat active; however, my best friend of 44 years, who I really leaned on (probably too much), unexpectedly died. One night we were eating dinner at her house, the next morning she was gone (stroke). Then 5 months later in 2020, I lost my soulmate - my cat of 18 years (yes, a cat). I started numbing myself once again with food and alcohol (beer) and sat on the couch watching videos or playing a video game, or just searching the internet. Of course I gained a bunch of weight which resulted in edema, and I also have arthritis in both knees. Just recently, the past month, I decided I no longer wanted to live like I was living, so I got off of the couch and started going to the gym - I can only walk on a treadmill because of my knees and my overweight status, but I started. Then, I "discovered" this channel and I will start practicing what this channel "preaches". Thank you for sharing your knowledge. ❤❤

@@kbleonhard - I am doing much better. I go to the gym almost every day of the week, doing strength training one day, cardio the next - nothing outrageous though. I started eating things like Avocadoes (which I hated until I discovered the Mashables - Avocadoes and nothing else in a little package) in my tuna fish mix, also started eating stuff like Dragon Fruit (frozen), just healthier, but again, not too crazy. I'll have a few beers every once in a while and eat something "bad" every once in a while - but not like I was. My blood pressure is down and so is my weight, plus I can get up and down better. I hope your son-in-law can get back on track. ❤

Dr Eckberg. You hit the nail on the head. I am 58 now. But I remember until the age of 12 I was eating EVERY DAY my breakfast SOLELY with 7 grain bread and MAINLY with brown sugar, sometimes jam. NEVER meat and almost never cheese. I was VERY active that time. Driving every day many kilometres with my bike constantly at full speed. In school my teacher always complained why I was constantly hopping with my feet. And I was the lightest and strongest of my class. But when growing older I observed brainfog was slowly but gradually setting in until a point I observed that I was about 48 years old but I lost lots of my abilities and brainpower. I also lost my job back than. If it was not for realizing this in time I would certainly going downhill much more. After changing lifestyle I was stabilizing for few years. But thanks for the knowledge from you and Dr Berg I am really recovering now from my depression, overweight and brainfog. Thank you Dr Eckberg.

I've been counting calories on and off since 1973. Each time I dieted I lost weight, only to put it back on and at a higher level. I did this most years. By the end of last year I was prediabetic, with a heart condition, and on 6 medications, weighing in at 254lbs. I had always tried to do low fat, high fibre and exchanging saturated fat with PUFA margarine. I was ill from water on the lung. Then I read Robert Lustig's Metabloical, Jason Fung's Complete Guide to Fasting and Gary Taubes The Case for KETO. Since January I am down 44lbs to 15 stone, I have stopped 4 medications, and my A1C is back to normal. Kill the carbs before the carbs kill you.

Was able to sustain this without starving or feeling bad & hit anther plateau. Now I am not feeling well, my stomach has hunger pains now worse than ever. I have taken Omeprazole 40 mg most of adult life. Type 2 diabetic, obese, & need to lose for knee surgery. Had steroid shot 3 wks ago which spiked sugar for 2 wks. My lowest blood sugar ever was 88. Even with fasting it stays around 120. No insulin. Antacids are all sweet , don’t want to use. How to stop stomach pain & weakness. Help please.

@@jtedandlindasimpson7044 You don't mention if you had a dietician to guide you or not. Also, have you visited a doctor for your stomach? From personal experience I can tell you that no diet is perfect for everyone because we are not copies of one another. I had to lose 6 kilos and I had blood sugar and cholesterol over normal. My theroid was behind them. I also had serious stomach problems and I had gastroscopy. I needed therapy. Mastich capsules help but don't solve the problem. I had a dietician who gave me different diets but pointed out I had to release stress. A balaced diet helped me in the end. And movement. What I found out myself was that the morning coffee with some coconut milk helped my stomach, after breakfast of course, while plain coffee caused acidity.Don't eat heavy meals late in the evening, as well.

@@drekberg hi Dr ekber love your work it's amazing, diagnosed as a t2d with fatty liver 2 years ago, 6 months ago at my last test showed no fatty liver and today my glucose 20 minutes after a meal is at a high of 125 and 30 minutes later it drops back under 100, and 12 hours later it is around 80-85 with a ketone level of 2.5 on average, my diet is mainly cheese nuts very little vegetables (if i eat things like mushrooms, lettuce, carrot's green peppers, my glucose spikes to 130-150 the next day (can't understand why?) so i just sty away and it works great, all thanks to me doing research, and finding your amazing channel (i think doing a video, about why would the "healthy keto friendly vegetables" shoot up glucose wood be an interesting topic), i spent some time thinking about it, and it feels like some kind of new glucogenesis, but from fiber???? it's suppose to be impossible, and yet, i did a number of controlled exterminates on myself, i believe Einstein would call this spooky green action lol :)

It's amazing how you provide so much information in an understandable way. I've tried a lot of "heathy diet" advise and it's interesting how the body adapts. I cut out a bad habit and my weight drops but remains on the same level no matter how much extra exercise I do. I drop another bad habit and the same thing happens. When you remove the body's enemies, it tends to try to function correctly again. I've lost about 23 kg (~50lbs) this way, the majority of which were from changing eating habits.

Sten, I owe you so much! I'm almost 59. I've battled with my weight all my life. I've always had an active lifestyle with plenty of excersize and tried following the SAD diet. M I blood pressure qas creeping up. I always felt I was borderline type 2, and avoided a lot of sweets and processed food because of the way I felt after I ate it. I never ate breakfast because it made me feel like a flat tire for the rest of the morning. I think these habits helped me get a good start. I started watching your videos towards the end of May. By the beginning of September I have lost 42 pounds and I feel great! I am doing this with my doctor's supervision. (he is doing keto too so I didn't get any objections from him) My blood work taken in June was amazingly good. Fasting glucose 78. A1C 5.5. C Peptide .65. It was a little rough at first becoming fat adaptive, but that was short lived. The biggest drawback I've seen so far is I no longer own a pair of pants that fit. Thank you again!

You make such complex issues so easy to understand. Thanks! Sleep is the one thing I have trouble with. I'm constantly waking up throughout the night.

Thank you for the Korean dubbing. although the speaker is not a native speaker, his Korean is excellent and enough to understand without subtitles.
