Dremel speeds are a mystery when wood carving, but I have 3 tips that will let you know when to lower that speed and help you produce awesome carvings.

The only way common sense becomes common, is if you make videos about it. Good stuff. Liked the part about how to get rid of a stubborn burned part. Sometimes wood just wants to be burnished and it must be coaxed back with a soft touch. Sometimes hand sanding is effective there too. I love to use the cheap 2 inch Velcro backed discs that can be had from Amazon for this and just general hand work on smaller carvings.

Yeah, true that. Most of carving is just common sense, most people are afraid of failure as well so they don't experiment. Yeah those mini disks are great. Cheers 🍻

hi matt, very helpful video. was using cheap rotary tool and flexshaft witch just died so up graded to dremel 4250 with dremel flexshaft, awesome. thanks for all the info. keep up the great work.
