Lately I did liver function and I had slightly elevated ALT, elevated Ferittin and B12. Are these indicators of fatty liver
@RobCLynch Жыл бұрын
In 1990 I was 22 years of age and my doctor told me that I had a fatty liver. It was not explained any further and I didn't understand what was being said to me...and the doctor offered no advice at all. Over the next few decades, I was told the same thing...once again, I didn't understand what it meant. In 2020, I was told that I had a NAFL, but this time I had the internet. That's when I discovered Dr Berg and I spent the lockdown months watching hundreds of his videos. Since June 2020 I've followed a Ketogenic lifestyle with intermittent fasting and having lost 103 pounds in the first ten months, I reversed prediabetes and got my joints back. So I'm extremely thankful to Dr Berg and this invaluable information. I urge anybody arriving on this channel for the first time to research this information and make their own minds up.

I've never gone beyond 82 kg (~175 lbs) - without much exercise and just eating what I want - and after some fasting (halving meals) I was back down to 72 kg (Normal weight for someone my size). This was 15 years ago, and nothing has changed since. I am 51 now. Also, I hardly ever get sick, the worst I've had is a flu once that kept me from doing normal work for a week, but I was never seriously ill. And a viral ear infection once, but that was a local infection and it had me puking my guts out for three days.

Thank you for pulling all the pieces together. This makes so much sense! I finally asked a doctor for the scans that identified NAFLD, after nagging problems fir several years. I'm an ecologist and seemingly insignificant imbalances on lab tests, my complaints of middle back pain, incontinence, blurry vision increasing rapidly, extreme sleepiness after eating, especially afternoons, sleep disturbance... wow. Now to tackle the restorative work! Fasting has already helped so much!

I have been on IF for a few months and Healthy Keto diet with legumes, artichoke, 1 tbsp quinoa, and 1 tbsp sesame seed. I also eat fruits such as red or purple grapes, blueberries, an apple, and a pear alternatively for stomach health. I have gotten rid of all refined carbs and eat only 2 slices of commercially available multigrain bread (no time to bake one myself and for such a low price that has no white or refined flour. I take supplements such as Tudca, Curcumin, Liver Flush (contains high milk thistle amount, dandeloin root, and 2-3 other herbs), Cod Liver oil, Tocotrienols Vit E, a multivitamin, 150mg iron for iron deficiency, nutritional yeast, l-glutamine 5g, psyllium husk 5g, 2 tsp ground flaxseed on salad. I have added walnuts, pumpkinseeds, sunflower seeds, and cashews for extra Omega 3s. I only use Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil and 1 tbsp grassfed butter. I haven't had meat in a few months except 2-3 eggs a day. I also eat a scoop of plant protein powder that has other healthy greens added to it from the factory (Garden of Life - Raw Organic All in One Shake), 10g beetroot powder mixed with the shake. My diet is as healthy as it gets, and I have lost weight all over my body, except my stomach area. My liver doesn't seem to be improving much. Still has pain and a sensitive area on the right side just after the mid section. Nowadays, it even hurts on the left side where the spleen and end of the pancreas are. I can deal with hunger, and it doesn't bother me, so there is no problem with the insulin. At least my brain fog has cleared for the most part, and my night vision most nights is not a problem. But, the liver doesn't seem to be budging.

Actually there is according to other sources. The illness of the liver is fatigue. At least this is, what i found out after struggling so many years with symptoms. At some point I got very tired suddenly even after normal meals, without any dessert but rich of carbohydrates. Then i knew something is not right. My doctor made a scan und diagnosed a too big grown liver and advised me to do a diet.

And to think my mothers cardiologist NEVER mentioned her having a fatty liver, NEVER. Mainstream doctors are inadequate on my book. I have to research everything myself these days . My mother died from having no treatment at all. No thanks to her doctor that was supposed to inform us about it. Doctors are inefficient. This is why I always tune into your channel. You tell us what to do about it when doctors fail us. The medical system in the U.S. is a failure. ..Thanks to you we can more clearly understand what is going on and what to do about it. My mothers cardiologist failed her and she paid for it as well as medicare. She died because of that medical failure, and I died that day as well. 10000% agreed. I had to find this out by myself as well. I asked doctors at the ER multiple times "how's my liver??" Cause I kept feeling something was wrong and each time they'd say "it's fine, everything's fine". I went to a new doctor 2 days after an ER and he checked the blood tests that I got from the ER and he told me I indeed did have a fatty liver. So why tf didn't they tell me when I asked? It's pathetic. Now I been fasting for almost a week, scared to eat anything and honestly just done and depressed.

Well done Noah. I started keto 3 years ago. I still do an occasional fast day or two. No food, just tea coffee or water. Getting used to different taste patterns is half the battle. Especially a non sugar diet. So my OMAD system: coffee in the morning with coconut milk. One meal a day .. Usually low or no carbs (meat with eggs and butter is a simple but good choice, or fried chicken in lard with salad. Never use any type of seed oil for frying) Apple cider vinegar in a glass of sparkling water with lemon before bedtime. I drink tea with milk sometimes and water during the day. I'm doing OMAD until at least Good Friday or until I reach my (single digit) target weight. Then I'll be the same weight I was at 33. I'm 66 now. After a bit of success you will know when you're on track or in reverse a little. Tight or loose belt buckle. The scales too... But not too often, as it can make you depressed if your not always losing weight. Lol.

I had a swollen right leg, and I had severe right under the rib pain. The reason I am convinced it is liver, is because I was under so much stress dude to my husband's dementia diagnosis, .I was dispersing a dying dog, who did have to be put down, and, all of a sudden, I had to take over everything with no support system. I was snacking like crazy...nervous eating, and not getting enough rest, and trying to negotiate for a new roof, new A/C, and then, a nrw furnace...learn how to mansge the water softener, and the finances, which hubby always did. I did pretty well, but it was a fast learning curve. So, I have been to your channel, and I have the list of bad and good foods. I know now, that the liver doesn't like SNACKING! Had breakfast and dinner today. Black coffee, took my D3, and Magnesium. I had a bad A fib attack two nights ago too. I can usually control it fairly quickly. But I had another a week ago. Today, I wondered if my Potassium was low, so tonight I had potatoes, which I usually skip. I did that because the last time I ended up in to the ER for Afib, !I was low in Potassium. Do you agree that the lack of potassium might trigger Afib? How can we balance the salt. I refrain from salt due to HBP.

I was diagnosed with a Severe Fatty Liver over 4 years ago now. At the same time I was diagnosed with genetic Hemochromatosis, which allowed iron to store in my liver. This led to Liver Fibrosis. I experienced night sweats & leg cramps every single night. I have since gone through 4 years of Phlebotomy Treatments for the Hemochromatosis, and this will be lifelong. But, how do I know if the Fibrosis has reversed itself? I lost 150lbs on Dr. Berg’s version of Healthy Keto, and have been able to maintain this weight loss for over 2 years now. I went from 321lbs to 170lbs and I do IF & OMAD everyday. It’s a good thing I lost the weight because I required Open Heart Surgery for my Aortic Valve. My Aortic Valve had a 5mm hole in one of the leaflets. Im sure the 150lb weight loss has made my recovery quicker & easier when compared to obese patients.

They couldn't figure out what was causing it, until my epilepsy nurse, of all people, asked me if I took any PPI's (pills for acid reflux) I said yes, I told her I had been taking Nexium and Omeprazole for years (at least 10 years). She said that, as they are processed through the liver, they could be causing you problems with NAFLD. They put me on Pantoprazole but things remained the same. They then gave me Nizatidine which improved my livers elevated ALT levels a bit, but I still had NAFLD. Once I started Keto and came off all my reflux pills, my liver returned to normal, as did my ALT levels. I'm convinced, nearly all anti reflux pills are harmful, in one way or another.

Dr Berg ty for all your videos! I've learned alot. I found out in Jan I am diabetic with average blood sugar around 230... I started watching my diet and limiting carbs... my lowest morning blood sugar this morning was 119.... I am on Metforim 500 MG 2 times a day and working hard to reverse my diabetes with diet. I've lost 20 lbs as well.

Intake of sugarcane juice in the morning helps a lot too. Also, Lemon juice in lukewarm water can be taken empty stomach. Latter one is good also for weight loss and Constipation issues.
