I’ve been miserable since I was 19 years old. I’m 49 now! I was unfortunate to have had ovarian failure at a very young age. I managed well the first few years. I didn’t have ANY of the symptoms of menopause, with the obvious exception of the loss of my menses, until I had an uninformed doctor decide it would be a good idea to put me on hormones, a few years later. I regret the day I swallowed my first pill! From then on out, I struggled terribly with weight, had constant acne, and haven’t slept a wink since! I had several other doctors recommend hormones several more times, over the years, and apparently I am a glutton for punishment because I assumed the best and ended up with the problems I already had, becoming worse. I’ve been mesmerized by your videos for months now. I’ve been to so many doctors with little to no help. I finally gave up a year ago! I now have had to have my gallbladder removed, in 2016, and have been on meds for high BP and cholesterol for 2 years now, to add to the problem. I was a steadfast follower of Keto for about 10 years, in order to manage my weight, but that stopped working. For reasons I won’t get into, I lost the ability to exercise in 2018, so as you can imagine, my health has suffered further. I am convinced there isn’t a doctor out there that can help me; especially in my area. My health is in my hands. Natural health is an option, but it requires a doctor to help with testing. When you tell them you are seeking natural pathways, for some reason, they won’t do testing, unless you are willing to take their death pills. So, I’m advocating for myself the only way I can at this point…research and lots of notes! I’m glad there are doctors like you out there, however few. It restores my faith in medicine and gives me hope that others might not have to suffer the way I have.

Try taking Sea Kelp to reduce estrogen-dominance while boosting your thyroid hormones. That could have saved your gallbladder as dr.berg latest vdo mentioned low thyroid hormones resulted in low bile and super-saturated cholesterol in the gallbladder, causing gall-stones. Very simple and necessary trace-minerals, especially if you use fluoride toothpaste and/or drink tab-water that has fluoride and/or chlorine in it.

It is also hugely important to realize that if we do not work on estrogen dominance then our body is marching towards the perfect storm, obesity, diabetes, even pancreatic problems, the list goes on an on, and yes, danger of developing cancers. That danger rises anyways as we age.

I decided to start the DIM supplement and was happily shocked by the results. When I didn’t get my period for days since I had never been late ever, I figured that’s great, peri menopause. I was super bloated which was rare and gained a few pounds in just days. I had night sweats and woke up various times throughout the night. Again, symptoms I’ve never had in my life before. I took the DIM out of desperation since I wasn’t getting any restful sleep and after one day, my period started back. On day 2, the night sweat subsided. On day 3, I slept through the night and the anxiety has decreased. It’s been about 3 weeks and it’s still going very well. It’s like I’m back to normal! I will continue to take this. I found it on Amazon, Nature’s Way, DIM-plus. I take 2 pills after dinner. I plan on taking this for a long time. No negative effects.

I have ALWAYS been thin - menopause hit early because of endometriosis and then came the night sweats but the night itch! I would get out of bed and get my hairbrush and almost rip my skin off. So I was put on Livial. That helped but I have not been able to work out why suddenly my breasts have ballooned and my tummy expanded so I was once a size 8 or 9 and now a 12. I can't afford a new wardrobe and I eat one meal a day. This has given me a whole new view on things and I am starting a new campaign - I will report back if I see results - this if the first time I have felt hope. Something that makes sense!

I am blown away EVERY DAY by you Dr. Berg. Everything I thought I knew has been tossed out the window. I am on bio-identical HRT & I advocated for it to everyone I knew. Though HRT has given me back my life, my brain, my sanity, my libido, I never thought there was an underlying cause for the problems with menopause. I thought it was something all women HAD to endure, the brain fog, the loss of libido, the weight gain, the sweats, THE AGING!, the sagging skin! Ugh! I want to heal my body instead now, because of you. Thank God you came into my life!

What this doctor says is an eye opener. Just today I was marveling at how I could possibly have Estrogen Dominance even though I just completed most of the menopause crap. How this doctor explains it makes so much sense and I am sure happy I delved into this subject. I just knew my hormones are out of whack, the bigger belly, foodcravings, especially chocolate. Who knew that estrogen could come from different sources after the ovaries shut down? OMG, I did not know that. And I have always, always suspected that estrogen dominance was at the root of my mothers reproductive deadly cancer as well as my aunt's reproductive cancer. But the biggest point is that this doctor helps save so many lives: because estrogen dominance is the one big thing a woman does not ever want if cancer already runs in her family. All the reproductive organs of a woman are affected, even after menopause, if there is estrogen dominance. Bad bad news. And I had an irkling about that. It just all fits together now, this information, like a puzzle that I have to solve if I do not want cancer like my mom and her sister had and die from it like they did. This is huge. I wondered what the heck was wrong with me because I could not shed the belly fat, and I knew my diet had not changed that much. Oh my god, this is such an eye opener. Thank you Doctor Berg, thank you

DR BERG!! I have been struggling for over a decade with PCOS and perimenopause. It started with bad cramps that led to an ex for synthetic bcps, panic attacks that led to a hospital stay and antidepressants, then migraines, then unexplained joint pain, then fibromyalgia and sleep disturbance, weight gain, fatigue, ADHD, low libido, hair loss, allergies....it has practically ruined my life. The synthetic hormones and antidepressants never really helped. Was it high cortisol giving me the panic attacks? Was it adrenal fatigue, was it prediabetes? Low estrogen? FINALLY, you have put the puzzle pieces together. Because the symptoms of estrogen dominance are very similar to those of LOW estrogen. And the symptoms of high cortisol are similar to low progesterone! Why oh why can't doctors learn how to help women like me. Still they refuse to give me anything but synthetic hormones and antidepressants. No acknowledgement of environmental factors. No nutritional guidance or natural support. I had given up. I hope this video reaches a lot of suffering women AND men. I'm hopeful I'm finally on the right track to getting myself back and avoiding a deadly disease. Thank you for getting right. 🙏🙏🙏

Too much estrogen caused me to have issues in my uterus and made me 30% at risk for cancer. I ended up having to have a hysterectomy at 35. I went into early menopause (I was already perimenopausal before the surgery) and now 3 years later, without the help of progesterone and other medications and treatments, I have lost 40 pounds on a paleo similar diet. I just stopped consuming dairy recently and switched to Almond Milk. My biggest problem now is not being able to find grass fed or organic meats. In my local stores, they just don't exist!

The bottom line is to reduce your stress so your body will have more progesterone instead of using it to make cortisol. Minor technicality, cortisol is created from pregnenolone, not progesterone. Plus stress wears down the adrenals - have you heard of "adrenal fatigue"? Your doctor probably won't tell you about it, but chronic stress over a lifetime wears out a lot of our organs. Just like eating too much sugar over a lifetime can cause diabetes due to the constant insulin production.

The Dutch test is a great way to test hormones which you should be able to do through obgyn or a functional medicine Dr. I highly recommend, I thought my body was making too much estrogen but the test revealed that not to be the case, my body just wasn’t releasing it properly, so then we knew how to treat. The test cost about $300-400. It’s expensive but worth doing to know what’s going on w your body and get relief.

But if you really think about the keto diet it's all Whole Foods no processed refined foods that's best for anyone I think keep the 7 to 10 cups of dark greens or more for it's like a perfect eating style for anyone really just keep foods simple and whole and she eats when she's hungry. I hope I didn't step on any toes responding and I hope it helps at least get you thinking about the actual foods eaten on LcHF/keto style. You are so blessed to have a gift as precious as a child

Interesting that when Americans were at their healthiest, food manufacturing was done with coconut oil. Then manufacturing changed and so did the health of Americans. Of course, all that American junk and processed food doesn't help along with GMO.

Okay. Watched it the first time. (Yes, I'm going to have to watch it again.) With every situation, I kept thinking, "No matter what, it seems I'm in trouble." I got...A LOT...of confusion listening to the causes section. I was a little more confused on what will help the problem. It might take several times watching to finally get it.

I’m married to a pilot, so 99% of the time I’m a “single” mom to twin boys. One has severe anxiety/OD (germ/harm), and the other has hypothyroidism and T1D. We live in a 65 year old house I refer to as Frankenstein. I have a lot of stress on my shoulders at all times! Four years ago my sons started going through puberty, and me the reverse. It’s been interesting to say the least. While the boys tried to eat me out of house and home, I’ve gone through hell and back. I’ve gained 100 lbs in that time that just won’t quit. I’ve been told I have Menderes, SLE Lupus, Sjogrens, CREST, chronic fatigue and sleep apnea. I really hate the stupid. CPAP machine! For years I’ve told my doctor I was going through menopause only to be ignored because I’m too young. I’m now a walking pharmacy- levothyroxine (they just found a nodule), venlafaxine (they want to increase to help with my severe hot flashes that are 24/7 I’ve had for year), celocicib for my arthritis, linzess, estradiol, and porogesertone. That’s just the prescriptions, I’m on vitamin D and C, stool softeners and miralax, relizen, and I just discovered DIM thanks to one of your videos. I went from zero medications to all that in four years! I’d love to toss it all in the garbage and stop going to the doctor. I went from eating fairly healthy to eating on the go, what’s affordable, and convenient because it’s there all due to running myself in circles with two high schoolers who thankfully just graduated, phew! Since the doctor obviously can’t help me, I’m taking matters into my own hands. I had my hormones checked. They said my progesterone went way down, and now I’m 5 times too high on estrogen. Then the doctor told me to tons of soy. I give up with them! This summer I said no more to eating crappy.. I’ve gone back to cooking, and I’m trying to eat cleaner. Produce and organic meat costs a lot when you’re feeding teen boys and on a very limited budget! I haven’t dropped any weight yet, but I’m already starting to feel better. I’m going to continue watching your videos to see what else I can do to get my life back. Thanks for helping us ladies. With any luck, I’ll turn 50 this fall, and won’t feel like (or look like) 100 years old!

Hello Dr. Berg, This is an excellent video that is incredibly informative and helpful. As I was listening to this video, I started wondering....are there certain segments of the population who might be more sensitive to estrogen dominance, GMO, consumers of corn, have a higher propensity to diseases like diabetes and are now being attacked by external endocrine disruptors?? As an African-American woman, I feel this might explain the higher rate of obesity in AA women. Lower salaries force AA women and families to eat cheaper more processed laced with GMOs which trigger endocrine disfunction which leads to all sorts of problems. 50 years ago AA were not this big. Just my thoughts......what do you think??

Thank you for simplifying the concept of why there is such thing as estrogen dominance on menopausal stage when it is supposed to be that estrogen should have dipped-down...but, then so does progesterone that even goes way down deeper compared to estrogen....and, another factor regarding cortisol production and adrenal gland demand...etc.

I'm post menopausal, I'm going to watch this closely. Before I watch a second, exercise has saved me.... Very interesting and helpful, as it happens I eat cruciferous veg regularly, I've started taking iodine but I wasn't sure why, I somehow knew I needed to, I eat organic and I'm a vegetarian, drink lots of filtered water with lemon in it and apart from the hiit workouts on line, started with 7 minutes per day, and go easy on myself, I listen to positive affirmations while I fall asleep... Ps last place you have control is in the shop, don't buy chocolate etc, you learn to live without it and then when you do indulge you realize how bad it makes you feel afterwards. Set your clear intention and take small steps and you can't change the past. You can, however, change now and the future... I did see this... 8 months ago,.... I was fat and depressed thenthis must be why I started taking iodine!!!!!
