Kay, Thank you for taking the time and energy to create today’s video. It has been so fascinating to learn about what goes on behind the scenes in your work. You are so fortunate to be the “face” of such a wonderful team. I love how you check in with the “Boss” everyday before you start your working day. You may not view your work as a ministry, but I definitely believe that you are ministering to everyone of us. In every area of our lives, we need to have people who demonstrate true human values not only in their personal lives but especially in their work. The clothes that we wear are an integral part of our daily existence so we need to have role models who embody fashion sense and style as well as ethics and moral values. It is not necessary for you to mention your faith or religious preferences because your integrity comes from that foundation and then, it pervades everything that you do. I truly believe that the most important aspect of your work is not the outfit you are wearing today or the styling tips that you are sharing - the most significant contribution of your work is the Love and human compassion that is underlying everything that you do. Thank you.

Kay, I’m a 60 year old empty-nester with a recently retired husband and a daughter getting married in the spring. I so identified with your comment about feeling “invisible “ at times, and one thing I’ve definitely taken away from your videos is to “show up” each day looking my best- just as motivation often follows action, I’ve found that “dressing for my day” is often followed by a boost of self-esteem and self-confidence. Thank you for your genuineness and for representing those of us in our second act 💕

Kay, I can't think of a word to add to what has been already said about your sweet personality, your honestly and authenticity and your wonderful content with each and every post. I have followed other blog posts, trying to find down to earth, practical fashion sense and suggestions....but most are kind of "idea" based outfit of the day things that are pricey and not who I really am. YOU hit the nail on the head each and every day. I can connect with your lifestyle, your fashion taste for real living and just so much more. I am SO glad I found your blog and eagerly look forward to it daily! And you know what REALLY connects with me? Your Blessed For My Day meditation each day! Sometimes I scroll to that first! Your reflections always seem to be just what I need and worded in a way that feels like I am talking to a dear friend. THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for all you are and all you share. Thanks, Kay, for this fun and informative video.I have always wondered what went on behind the scenes - a lot of work, I found out! Thanks for sharing and helping us to feel confident and comfortable in what we are wearing. I've been retired for several years and thought it didn't matter what I looked like anymore and that no one cared. I mostly dressed in a very relaxed way (grubby is a better word - ha!). Your videos helped me realize that I DO matter and how I dress for my day does make me feel better about myself. I'm sure my husband appreciates it as well 😉

Why would anyone send you rude comments? You are so gracious and polite.
@DressedforMyDaywithKayHarms2 жыл бұрын
Hahaha! I don’t think most people think they are being rude, but just “speaking their mind.” Unfortunately some people just don’t have a filter and they write things to me that are hurtful and honestly inappropriate. I’m just an aging woman doing my best to adapt to the changes that come with age and to look my best like everyone else. I get very sensitive occasionally about my appearance like most women do. So when someone emails me and says, “What in the world did you put on your face? You look all shiny and pink in today’s video. Just horrible!” I take it personally and it hurts. Hahaha! And in the same email they tell me how much they love what I’m doing and how they’ve been watching me for two years and just love me. So I don’t think they mean to be rude. They just don’t have a good filter. 😉

I’m going to turn 50 this Christmas and thanks to you and Marie-Anne Le cour, I feel ready and excited for this new phase. I think it was you that called it Act 2? I am so very lucky to have a wonderful husband and 3 children, 2 of whom are university now and I am excited to show up as you put it as I progress forward. I work as a staff nurse and of course that means I wear a uniform but I am enjoying developing my style and I am making sure I get dressed for my day even if I wear uniform for part of it! I hope to have time going forward to join some groups or engage more actively with friends or go out with my husband for a meal more. We all go through life and learn to be immune to that but still it is difficult to understand why others are being mean without any particular reason or purpose... At 43 I have recently experienced something similar when accidentally heard my sister in law gossiping about me and spreading some serious lies. She pretended to be my friend for 14 years... Well, family gatherings will be a bit different from now on I guess.

I so appreciate that you directly addressed that it's ok to earn a pay cheque while doing what you love. Volunteering isn't the only way for us to contribute and make a difference. If we are fortunate, our work will pay us well and support others at the same time. Bless you Kay!

I'm happy to hear also that God with your prayers has been your inspiration. I'm 64 years old but It makes me as a watcher of youtube excited to learn and see the topics discussed. Your home office is beautiful! I love your computer stand. Thanks for the peek into your work life. Would love to see a post or video about how to set up a home office. With the pandemic, so many have had to do this. Thanks for sharing your life with us.

Dear Kay, You are doing a wonderful service for so many - including me. Your authenticity clearly comes through. If you ever come to Rhode Island I would love to have you over for a cup of coffee, since I already feel like you're a friend. Keep doing what you do girl - you are a blessing to so many women. Pay no attention to any mean comments; they're irrelevant. Just pray (as I'm sure you do) that anyone would do something so petty and mean. Your encouragement is contagious. Plus I just love all the fun fashion tips. Keep rolling Kay!

I really LOVE watching your channel and appreciate what you give me as a fellow 50-something, recently retired, empty nester! It encourages me that you are a sister in Christ and put God first in your day. My own wardrobe style, is very similar to yours so, I look forward to watching your video each Wednesday to see what new thing I can learn! Thank you for all you do to provide an interesting, informative, and quality channel! Colossians 3: 34-24.

Kay, thank for your transparency and honesty. Somewhat rare in our world. I love that you were willing to share your journey with us honestly. I am glad you can make a living doing all that you do. That is a blessing. It sounds like God has been working in and through you and I am glad he continues to do that. What a beautiful testimony of His faithfulness. Your testimony has encouraged me today. Thank you.

I realized from the start of subscribing that yours was the best of all the ladies over 50 blogs. I always attributed it to what you were too modest to mention, your TALENT. Now that I have seen all the work you put into what you produce I am even more impressed. Congratulations to you and James! Please make sure you always include those online links to your shopping. I sincerely hope to contribute something when I purchase at those sites in hopes of repaying you for all the education, insights, and just plain fun you bring me!

Kay, I've written several times to you here on YT, on your blog and on instagram. (often inviting you to meet up at Cannon Beach) :) I came to your channel and blog during the depth of covid. I was depressed, scared, tired, retired, feeling old, frumpy, fat and invisible. If you remember, I wrote you a long note after my 35th college reunion where I was to speak in front of classmates. Slowly I started to put a new wardrobe together and I felt free, beautiful and experienced so much joy just because I took the time for myself. I consider you a "friend". You and your ministry to women our age has surely and most definitely kept us going during these challenging days. One other thing...I loved how you shared how you feel your cup each and every morning. My husband and I sit and read scripture and a devotional each and every morning. Even when we were both working full time, we did this. I does make a difference and the practice of quiet and preparation for the day has changed my life. Thank you Kay! Can't wait to meet up sometime. ~ Lori

I love this video. I love your heart for sharing and helping women when we do find that we are in a new stage of life and are sort of "lost". As a 63-year-old woman, You have helped me so much. I appreciate learning about your day and how the business has evolved. Thank you for sharing the most important thing, reminding us to nurture our relationship with the Lord! I look forward to your daily blogs and weekly video. Thank you so very much.

I always enjoy your videos and was clueless as to how it was created. By the way blue is a great color for you. I am older but never really understood what my style is but watching you I have slowly started to change my wardrobe to select classic clothing of good quality and of course great fit and colors. I am grateful to have found your blog. Thank you so much.
