I'm a 31yo guy that enjoys your videos, I translate some of your recommendations to a more masculine tone, but fashion and style are not limited to gender, right? Lol I would love to see a video for "dressing rules men should follow" from your perspective 👏🏽. Stay safe and stay stylish as always 🤩 love your videos, they are truly relaxing. Greetings from México.

Audrey, wondering if you might create a video about details like frills, ruffles, pleats, buttons etc that follow or enhance our body frame, shape, style and do not overwhelm or underwhelm? Just a thought.

Kibbe?
@edennis8578
@edennis8578 2 жыл бұрын
That's quite a lot, considering all of the individual factors that are involved. As previously pointed out, the Kibbe system can help you there. I'm a Soft Dramatic in that system with quite a long of yang in my face, so I can't usually wear ruffles or frills because, wow, do they clash with my facial bone structure! The only time I've been able to do it harmoniously is a very narrow ruffle around the neckline. Romantics, on the other hand, can usually go all out on ruffles and frills because it suits their extremely feminine face and body structure.

My gosh Audrey. You’ve always dressed incredibly well, but the small tweaks you’ve made these last couple of years in silhouette, color, and hair have REALLY made such an impact.

1. Match shoes with outfit: Match shoe with hair(works most times) Match shoe with skin colour or pants Match shoe with one pop colour in your outfit 2. Patterns: patterns should be no bigger than your fist. Match shapes in pattern to your face (eg.round face- round shapes ) 3. Colour: convey moods with colours(eg blue - calm, dark blue- maturity, light blue- care free) 4. Heel height: length of thumb= length of heel

This is very interesting Audrey, thank you. May I add that the light/dark tone of a colour also depends on the person's own unique colouring and also the light of the season. For example, while I would never wear charcoal grey in the summer, in late fall and winter, it is magic. Same for the shades of blue. Baby blue looks its best, IMHO, in the spring, and sapphire and navy blue work netter in the lower-light months. French blue or air force blue lies somewhere in between. What a thoughtful topic you have raised today, as always.

I am tall and slim but have a bit of belly and extra on the sides of my waist. Tucking blouses in just accentuates that and doesn't look good on me at all. Believe me, I have tried. So , unfortunately, not all styling tricks look good on every body type.

Immediately checked all my comfortable heels! The heel/thumb trick works! This plus measuring the heel incline (distance between the heel and the sole; the longer the better) have gotten me back into heels when I thought I'd aged out of them! Now I just need someplace to go! 😄

I have never been able to figure out patterns and even a lot of professional stylists I know struggle with defining what makes patterns work with different people (usually they develop a good 'feel' for it but can't explain it to implement) so I'm blown away by your tips! Your colour tone tips are total gold also. I tend to favour darker, stronger colours (as a dark winter) so people always comment that I seem so serious, older, have a 'serious librarian' vibe which in some contexts is appropriate but I've been at a loss as to how to come across a bit more youthful and less serious and intimidating without giving up the heart of my personal style.

I think the best way to make sure your shoes go with your outfit is for them to be black :) I know coloured shoes can look great and add interest to outfits, but they are also the element of my wardrobe that are the most expensive, the biggest hassle to buy, impossible to wash and take up quite a lot of space, so I always put the practical considerations first and like to have just a few good quality pairs that I can wear with basically anything and everything. Much easier to change up my tops or my jewellery.

Thank you for another fantastic video. I really enjoyed your examples of color intensity. I recently realize that the colors that look best on me with my skin tone or what I call cotton candy colors such as bright yellows, lime greens, tangerine and turquoise. Not exactly my favorite colors however when they are intensified I all the sudden have a beautiful fall palette such as teal blue, pumpkin and rust buttery yellow to name a few.

My hair is white/silver. Inspired by AC, I have played around with using it as she uses her blackish hair. I wear white sneakers sometimes, and very very frequently a white tee shirt, sweater or button down. I’m actively looking for some silvery shirts and maybe shoes. I use a toner sometimes that gives my hair a vague purple cast, and so I’m looking for a shimmery pale blue lavender top as well. I’m short & chunky around the middle so some/many of Audrey’s styling tips do not work at all for me but her color advice is for everyone. I get compliments when I think about how to work with color in an outfit, no matter how simple the get-up. I think it’s because her approach results in an intentional outcome.
