I've made a couple dresses with this pattern, love it! Can it be used to make a midi skirt, too?

Thank you for this pattern! I do have one question, I have more of a pear shape than the models featured in the video, would it be sensible to install a zipper down the back? I'm worried I might not be able to pull the dress on lol.

This dress won't have a problem with putting it on if you have a pear shape since the dress is put on over your head :) However, if you would like a zipper, you can add it to the side or to the back - but, because the dress is cut on bias so it will be a bit challenging.

2:18 i'm a little confused here, did you sew the seam once and then go over the same seam again for extra strength due to the delicacy of the fabric or is it more for the nice professional clean look? 10:15 what is understitching the facing? thank you! :)
@DressmakingAmore3 жыл бұрын
Yes - this is a french seam, so you sew it on the right side, then close it up by sewing again on the wrong side. This creates a neat look inside and out, and is a great technique for delicate fabrics. And understitching the facing is when you sew the seam allowances down from the right side of the fabric, so that the facing will stay on the inside of the garment, not sticking out. Thank you for watching!

Which fabric is better , satin or polyester silk ? Btw thank you . Just subscribed!
@DressmakingAmore2 жыл бұрын
This depends on your personal preference - I actually used a poly silk for the red dress, and for my gold one I used a satin :) Thank you for subscribing and watching!

heyy, love the video. i want a lower back on the dress, how do i achieve this?
@DressmakingAmore2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching! Yes you can - just draw the shape that you like on the back of the pattern, as well as the facing since that’ll have to be changed, and adjust the length of the straps when you have a fitting :)

can we attach lining to this dress?
@DressmakingAmore2 жыл бұрын
Hi there! Yes you can, but personally for silky dresses I like wearing shapewear underneath acting as a slip. The lining must be cut in the same direction as the top layer!

Hey! Is the pattern cut on bias?
@DressmakingAmore2 жыл бұрын
yes, it is!
@marlenexx83412 жыл бұрын
what does that mean? and does installing a zipper still work with that?
@jhafeeongaswie77062 жыл бұрын
This dress doesn't need a zipper?
@DressmakingAmore2 жыл бұрын
No, this dress doesn't need a zipper because it is cut on bias, so it's got just enough stretch :)
